They say your girl missed 50 shows 'cause she simply isn't used to the grueling 8 show a week schedule. The production has been losing bu-ku bucks because when fans find out Fantasia's not singing, they've been demanding refunds. Producers really got pissed off when they found out Fantasia was outside the theater serenading would be concert goers after the production was shut down during the writers strike. One of The Color Purple's backers was overheard griping, "There's no show, and she's out there singing. Now if we could get her to perform when there is a show, we'd be in business."

it is TOTALLY true. I went to see the show this summer. i got rush tickets and she did not show up that night. found out she had not performed the previous night. My best friend was with me. it was her third time seeing the show, of those three times fantasia showed up ONCE. i also struck up a conversation with a lady and her husband sitting behind me, this was their third time seeing the show, and they NEVER saw fantasia.
i guess she was too busy wearing ill- fitting bikinis and gold lame freakum dresses to actually show up for work.
and that 50 show count is excluding the time she is given for vacation. yeah, i guess im still pissed about it.
