Five years ago Run DMC DJ Jam Master Jay was murdered, execution style, in his Hollis, Queens recording studio. In the studio at the time was Jay's business partner Randy Allen, Randy's sister [who was also Jay's receptionist] Lydia High and Urieco Rinco. Jay's family believes the shooters, who Lydia buzzed into the studio, was someone Jay and his friends knew. Lydia, before she stopped cooperating with police and went into hiding, told the cops Jay hugged one of the men before he was shot. The others have refused to speak with police to this day.

They say actress LisaRaye's husband Michael Misick, the premier of Turks and Caicos islands, stayed thisclose to Nicole Murphy at the opening of Mediterranean Village at Sandals' Grande Antigua resort October 5th. Snitches report Michael's bodyguard went to great lengths to make sure there were no photos taken of the two and witnesses claim to have seen them share kissses. LisaRaye, who did not attend the event, released a statement. "Nicole is a good friend, and she and Michael were both there for an event but not together."

Genarlow Wilson Released From Prison

Genarlow Wilson was released after two years in prison this past Friday (Oct. 26) after the Georgia Supreme Court's decision to overturn his sentence. At age 17, Genarlow was charged with aggravated child molestation and sentenced to 10 years in prison for having consensual oral sex with a girl who was 15 at the time. Douglas County District Attorney David McDade justified the charges last year by stating: "Genarlow Wilson is of an age where the law says he is expected to respect her youthfulness." The case sparked national outrage, with former President Jimmy Carter among the notables voicing protest. The Georgia Supreme Court ultimately agreed with the public outcry and ruled Wilson's crime "does not rise to the level of adults who prey on children." The court overturned the sentence, calling it "grossly disproportionate to the crime."

OK, so Jasmine Guy co-executive directed the Turks and Caicos film festival last week and invited Amanda Bynes to collect the "Rising Star" award. I know, why the hell would she invite Amanda Bynes? Because of Hairspray? Who went to see that? Anyway, after demanding four first class airline tickets and two double hotel suites, Amanda arrived on the Island and didn't attend one single event. She even bailed on a celebrity boat cruise with Michael Clarke Duncan and Gabrielle Union. They say she spent the whole time jet skiing. Anyway, after Jasmine confronted her, Amanda's people sent word that if Jasmine spoke to Amanda again, she'd leave and not accept her award. Amanda's friends told Page Six that Jasmine acted like a "drunken bitch" and that her husband even apologized to Amanda for it. "She's crazy," Mandy's friends said, "She [Jasmine] was screaming at her, 'I didn't invite you here to have fun! I invited you to work!'

Ok, so remember when ex-Minnesota Timberwolf Eddie Griffin drove his car into an oncoming train and died? The autopsy reports came back and he was drunk. The medical examiner's office performed tests on Griffin's bile and blood from his heart and liver and determined his blood-alcohol level was 0.26. The legal limit in Texas is 0.08. Tests found no traces of cocaine, amphetamines or any other narcotics.The 6-foot-10 Griffin was killed about 1:20 a.m. on Aug. 17. His injuries from the fiery crash included two collapsed lungs, a lacerated liver and kidney, four broken ribs and burns over most of his body.

First they got sued by an employee who filed a class action suit claiming 40/40 employees were forced to work for below minimum wage and accused The 40 of taking a cut of their tips. Then BMI sued The 40/40 for not paying royalties on the music they played. Now a pregnant ex-employee is suing because she says she was fired after she got knocked up. The lawsuit, filed in New York County Court, claims she was fired by managers who said her pregnancy didn't fit the club's "sexy image." The woman seeks an unknown amount in damages.

American Gangster doesn't open until November 2nd, but a high quality bootleg has already hit the Internet and according to the Wall Street Journal the copy is so good it has Universal studios worried. John Desmond, an executive with online piracy-research company MediaSentry, told the WSJ that if a bootleg copy is going to be offered online, it's best for the studios if it's of poor quality (like movies camcorded in theaters) since most consumers would rather buy a theater ticket than watch a poor-quality bootleg copy. The bootleg version of American Gangster appears to be in pristine condition and lacks even the "not-for-distribution" scroll that identifies screeners.

T.I. Was Released Today

T.I. was released on a $3 million bond today, two weeks after he was arrested in a weapons case that could see him jailed for 30 years. Judge Alan Baverman ordered that he remain at his home in Henry County, Georgia, and submit to having his precise whereabouts monitored both electronically and by a private surveillance company. His favorite baby mama, Tiny, would be allowed to reside at the house, which on Friday was searched for weapons, or illegal goods by the U.S. bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives prior to his release.

The 32-inch necklace is draped with ice — four rows deep, 105 carats total weight — in 18 karat white gold. Weezy agreed to pay monthly installments, the suit says. Sutton received a $24,000 check on Oct. 12. The next $24,000 check was dated Jan. 18. Sutton deposited it, only to learn a stop payment had been issued. Tracy Didn't Make It 90 Days

Tracy Morgan was supposed to wear his SCRAM alcohol monitoring ankle bracelet for a total of 90 days as a condition of his probation for a DUI. Homeboy didn't make it. Tracy's attorney, Blair Berk, appeared in a Los Angeles County courtroom this week and explained that Tracy took off his SCRAM bracelet early because of an undisclosed medical condition. Sean "Diddy" Combs inked a multi-year deal to develop the Ciroc vodka brand — one of Diageo PLC's superpremium lines — for a 50-50 share in the profits. Diageo said the agreement could be worth more than $100 million for Combs over the course of the deal, depending on how well the brand performs. "It is not an endorsement deal," Combs told The Associated Press on Tuesday night. "This is something that will have my daily attention." Ed beat an assault case brought by a woman who says he cold cocked her and left her face permanently scarred. Lover, 43, was sentenced in Manhattan to seven days' community service for the December 2005 confrontation at Duvet on West 21st Street. In pleading guilty to a violation, Lover, a morning DJ on Power 105.1, did not admit punching the woman as originally charged, and will not have a criminal record. The plea left victim Letitia Belford, 28, from Middlesex County, dumbfounded and furious at prosecutors. Belford said she had eyewitnesses ready to testify that Lover - real name James Roberts - cold-cocked her out of nowhere as she argued at the club with Lover's gal pal. But prosecutors knew Lover had his own friends ready to testify that Lover punched her in self-defense after she threatened him with a glass - which she adamantly denies.

Even before Why Did I Get Married opened, Tyler Perry talked candidly about his struggle to get his film released in a number of theatres comparable to his mainstream counterparts and other apparent attempts to undermine its success on its opening weekend.I went to see the film on Sunday night at my regular theatre (Wehrenberg’s Jamestown 14 Cine) and had an interesting experience. When my ticket was torn, the man working the door said, “We Own The Night is in auditorium three.” I told him that I didn’t buy a ticket to We Own the Night, but to Why Did I Get Married. He said, “It’s fine, just go on in.”After informing him that I didn’t want another film to get credit for Tyler Perry’s sale, he said, “Fair enough, wait here” and brought back a stub from Why Did I get Married. When I arrived in the theatre, a woman who asked not to be identified said, “Girl, make sure that your ticket says ‘Tyler Perry’ because mine said We Own Night. My friend said that it happened to her yesterday. They been tryin’ to be shady all weekend.” I was not the only one. Neither was she. There was a bit of commotion as people looked at their tickets and, sure enough, their tickets didn’t say what they thought it said. The concerned patron who attempted to school me on the error went to the manager and he said that it was a mistake. “Well, I ain’t never seen them make this kind of mistake before,” the woman said. In the 20 years I had been patronizing the Jamestown 14 Cine, neither had I. A bold, matter-of-fact woman, she went to the manager and insisted that he make an announcement in the theater. His message regarding the cause of the “mix-up” was unclear, but he told the audience that they were welcome to come to the box office and get their ticket changed. But when the film was over, the box office was closed.By the time the office opened Monday, someone had already called the American to voice concerns regarding a similar incident at the same theatre.Quinton Pittman, an attendant of The Wehrenberg theatre in St. Charles, conveyed his disdain via e-mail.

“I took my lady to see Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married yesterday in St. Charles at the Wehrenberg Theatre on 1st Capitol. I glanced at my ticket stubs. Why was I sold tickets to Resident Evil”? Pittman wrote. He said that he talked with the usher and management and decided to contact Werhrenberg Offices.“To add further insult to this injury, when I called the home office of Wehrenberg Theatres to complain, I was directed to Linda Curbell (Guest Services) who told me, ‘The only way you're going to get ticket stubs to that movie is to get them out of the trash,’” Pittman said. He said that Curbell refused to take his complaint formally and brushed him off with a nasty attitude.“Had it been Harry Potter, Spiderman or Barney Goes to Jail, they would have fixed it right then and there,” Pittman said. “My conscience is burning because they were being racist - period. They are stealing money from Tyler Perry’s movie.”“It was a mistake, and we’re looking into it,” Kelly Hoskins said in an abrasive and condescending tone when I called Wehrenberg’s corporate offices and asked about the incidents. She also said that the theatres installed new ticketing systems that might have contributed to the error.Shawn Ellens went to St. Louis Mills (which is not a Wehrenberg theatre) to see the movie. According to her, she waited for more than 20 minutes from the original 6:45 p.m. start time to see Why Did I get Married.She said the film then was screened out of focus and with the actors’ heads cut off. They stopped the film to resolve the issue and left guests waiting.“When it finally got up, the film had already started and we had missed part of it,” Ellens said.After people started complaining, they offered passes to see another film.“I had never experienced that type of problem before,” Ellens said. “While I can only speculate (regarding motive), 99.9 percent of the people in there were black.”Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married opened at the top of the box office with $21.5 million.Ellens says that she rarely goes to see a movie on the first weekend, but as a fan of Perry, she wanted to make sure he had a strong finish.“Even with all of that trifling behavior, he still came out number one,” Ellen said.“I’m tickled pink, and I wish we could get word to him what happened here in St. Louis.”

OJ Defendants Plead Guilty

Two co-defendants pleaded guilty yesterday to reduced charges in the O.J. Simpson armed-robbery case. The two, Walter Alexander and Charles Cashmore, agreed to testify against Simpson and three others in the alleged hotel-room theft of sports collectibles from two memorabilia dealers. Clark County District Attorney David Roger agreed to drop charges of kidnapping, armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy against both men. They remained free pending sentencing. Simpson lawyer Gabriel Grasso said there have been no discussions with Roger on any plea deal for Simpson. He and and co-defendants Clarence Stewart, Michael McClinton and Charles Ehrlich remain charged with nine felonies and one gross-misdemeanor charge of kidnapping, armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy. The kidnapping conviction alone could result in a sentence of life in prison with parole. Simpson faces an additional felony charge of coercion.

I think my manager spoke to him. I got a great life and wonderful children, and I do intend to be here to guide them for the rest of their lives, and that’s what’s most important to me. Bad Boy Loses $4 Million Dollar Judgment

A judge ruled in favor of a music publishing company that sued Sean "Diddy" Combs, Bad Boy Entertainment and Justin Combs Publishing over an illegal sample contained on Notorious B.I.G.'s classic song "Ready to Die." In March of 2006 Bridgeport and Westbound won a $4 million dollar judgment in punitive damages when a jury found Bad Boy Entertainment, Justin Combs Publishing, Universal Records and Sean "Diddy" Combs guilty of illegally sampling "Singing In The Morning" by The Ohio Players. The United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit rejected Combs' appeal on Wednesday (October 17), after ruling that Combs released and re-released Ready to Die with knowledge that the sample had not been cleared. "Ready to Die" was produced by Sean "Diddy" Combs and Osten Harvey Jr. and is the titled track to B.I.G.'s 1994 classic album Ready to Die.

Joumana And Jason Divorce Heating Up Again

At first Jason Kidd and his wife Joumana's divorce was real dirty, with each accusing the other of outrageous abuses. Then they made a truce to stop airing their dirty laundry in public and everything seemed civil between them. Not Anymore. Joumana just filed new documents in a New Jersey Family Court, claiming Jason makes "little effort" to spend regular time with his three kids and rarely calls them. When he does see them, his girlfriend- identified only as "Hope Christine" -- is "present during virtually all" of the visits, including spleepovers. The children "desperately wish to have their father's undivided attention," Joumana claims. As a result, Joumana wants a Bergen County divorce judge to bar Kidd from having anyone with whom he is "romantically involved" around during overnight visits. Michael Vick Homeless?

On Sunday, the New York Post reported that Michael Vick, having already sold his Virginia home and after moving out of his Georgia home so it can be shown to potential buyers, finds himself homeless. The Post claims records show Vick currently owns no other property. Vick's lawyer had no comment, and his agent would not return calls. Teacher At Oprah School Dismissed For Misconduct

A teacher at Oprah Winfrey's Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa has been "removed from the campus" following a "serious claim of misconduct". No details have been made known, nor is it clear when the offence took place. The gender of the accused house parent was not disclosed. The incident has led to the head of the academy taking a leave of absence and the school engaging investigators from the US. "Nothing is more serious or devastating to me than an allegation of misconduct by an adult against any girl at the academy. I will do everything within my power to ensure their safety and wellbeing," Oprah said in a statement. On Thursday, academy CEO John Samuel said "Upon receiving this information, we removed the person in question from the campus, notified the Child Protection Services and took immediate action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the academy's learners, We have engaged professional investigators of the highest standing from South Africa and the US to conduct a fair and impartial inquiry into these claims. The inquiry is being conducted in a manner that supports the safe and nurturing environment of the academy, with minimal disruption to campus life," said Samuel, adding that the academy was providing psychological support and counselling services to the learners.

A week ago NFL defensive back Adam “Pacman” Jones was telling people at the TNA iMPACT! tapings that as far as he knows, he is done with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling after that night's Bound For Glory pay-per-view, because despite repeated requests, TNA Vice president Jeff Jarrett had been unable to get the Tennessee Titans to allow Pacman to wrestle. The Prince should have asked somebody, 'cause Mike did the same thing to his former manager Myung-Ho Lee and German concert promoter Marcel Avram. In both cases, Mike signed complicated agreements, made promises for work in exchange for money and then left his partners high and dry. In both cases, he was sued and lost. Last year, Mike lost another case, to former partner Marc Schaffel, who advanced him money and was never repaid. Schaffel won the case and a lien on Neverland. He’s in second place for liens behind Fortress, which has a $25 million attachment to the ranch. Michael recently settled another case, with Prescient Capital, a firm that sued him for $48 million in fees. He did the same thing to Damon Dash's cousin Darien. After Darien Dash secured $357 million dollars for Michael, Mike moonwalked on Darien's $48 million dollar fee. Darien sued and had to settle for $5 million bucks.

According to reports, T.I. and his attorneys did not meet specific conditions for a bond release today, which included a $3.7 million cash and property bond and private alarm monitoring. Clifford Will Be In Court Today

Rapper T.I. will make another appearance Friday in federal court where his legal team will try and convince a U.S. magistrate T.I. should be allowed to post bond and remain out of jail pending his trial on weapons charges.The bond hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. before U.S. Magistrate Alan Baverman.T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, also will have his arraignment, where he will enter a plea of not guilty and find out which U.S. District Court judge is presiding over his case.

Because of an overflow crowd that came to attend Harris's first-appearance hearing on Monday, Baverman will hold the bond hearing in a larger courtroom at the Richard B. Russell Federal Building and Courthouse.On Wednesday, a federal grand jury indicted Harris on charges of illegally possessing unregistered machine guns and silencers; unlawfully possessing machine guns; and of being a convicted felon in possession of firearms.Federal prosecutors are moving to have Harris held without bond until his trial, which could be several months away. To obtain a bond, Harris's lawyers must convince Baverman there is a reasonable assurance that, based on the conditions of his pre-trial release, Harris will not be a risk of fleeing and will not be a danger to the community or to any particular person.If convicted, Harris faces almost certain prison time.

Mychal Back In Jail

Yesterday Mychal Bell and the rest of the Jena 6 were in juvenile court for their hearing, when state District Judge J.P. Mauffrey Jr. sentenced Myc to 18 months in jail because he said Myc's involvement in the Jena 6 fight violated his probation on prior convictions. Bell's parents were also ordered to pay all court costs and witness costs.

Vick's Jersey Removed From Rafters

Michael Vick's former high school removed his football jersey from their gym's rafters. Michelle Price, a spokeswoman for the Newport News Public Schools, said Warwick High School principal Varinda Robinson decided to take the jersey down shortly after Vick entered his plea.

"It stayed up through the allegations, but they did decide to take it down once he admitted some guilt."

Mike Owes The Falcons 20 Million Dollars

An arbitrator ruled yesterday that Michael Vick must repay $20 million dollars in bonuses to the Atlanta Falcons for violating his $130 million contract. Stephen Burbank, the University of Pennsylvania law professor who presided over last week's arbitration hearing, agreed with the Falcons that Vick violated his contract when he admitted his role in a dogfighting ring. The team also argued that Vick used proceeds from his contract to bankroll the illegal operation.

Lil Wayne In Jail

Lil Wayne was arrested in Boise, Idaho on a felony fugitive charge Stemming from that case he caught in Georgia last August. The 25-year-old rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was arrested after his Friday concert at Qwest Arena and booked into the Ada County jail. Because of the type of charge, he was not eligible for bond and wouldn't get out to make it to his scheduled Saturday night concert. After his arrest, the jail was bombarded with dozens of angry phone calls from fans, concert promoters and others, said a jail deputy who didn't want her name to be used because of the public uproar. "Every other phone call that we've picked up have been about him—people who have tickets wanting to know where his concert will be, people calling to see if it's true that he's incarcerated," the deputy said Saturday afternoon. Wayne is scheduled to be formally charged Tuesday and will be asked then if he plans to waive his extradition to Georgia, the deputy said.

Beans Stole A Rental Car

Rapper Beanie Sigel rented a 2007 Nissan Altima from Payless Car Rental in southwest Philadelphia in July. The car was due back on Aug. 13, but Beans did not return it. The rental company charged his credit card for $5,000.00 and reported the car stolen in September. The car was returned this past Friday, just as detectives went to Sigel's home in the suburb of Lansdale. Pa., to arrest him. Beanie's lawyer, Fortunato Perri, said he was working out a time for Sigel to surrender on Monday. "The car has been returned," Perri said. "And whatever money is owed to the company has been paid or will be paid shortly."

Marion Jones Admits Steroid Use

Marion Jones will plead guilty to two counts of lying to a federal agent about her steroid use, according to law enforcement sources. The maximum penalty for that offense is five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, although Jones is expected to do only a few months of jail time, if any at all.

Jones is believed to have used two designer steroids, "the cream," a lotion loaded with testosterone, and "the clear," a steroid that like the cream is designed to avoid detection - beginning in 1999.

Gun Charges Dropped

Prosecutors are dropping a drug-and-gun case against Jadakiss, a year after the rapper's arrest. His lawyer said it was "a travesty that the case went this far." The Westchester County district attorney's office asked a judge last week to dismiss the charges against the rapper, whose real name is Jason Phillips, and a co-defendants, Kristian Smith and Darnell Frazier. Jada and his pals were arrested last October in Yonkers, and indicted in February. Police claimed they smelled marijuana coming from the men's car and then found a gun inside. A jury last month acquitted Frazier after DNA tests didn't link any of the three to the gun. Jadakiss' attorney, Clement Patti, said the 32-year-old rapper "has had this cloud over his head for a year, affecting his career."

Ginuwine Files Suit Against His "Label"

R & B singer Ginuwine filed suit in Manhattan Supreme Court yesterday claiming he signed a $1.75 million recording deal with King Music Group in May, but the company has yet to pay him his $500,000 advance. Ginuwine says he now believes the record company "does not exist." He claims to have checked corporation records in numerous states, and found that "no such entity named King Music Group Inc. is registered." He is seeking $2 million in damages from the company for having put his career on hold. Ginuwine signed with King Music because he was friends with the "company's" chief, Memphis millionaire and entrepreneur Michael Bourne . He'd known Michael for a while. They were friends. Ginuwine says, "Bourne promised him the world, and nothing happened."

Davon Pleads Guilty

Michael Vick's cousin, Davon Boddie, was sentenced to a five year suspended sentence on drug charges. Under the terms of his plea agreement, Davon will not have to serve time in prison as long as he maintains good behavior and meets regularly with a probation officer. Davon admits some of his family members think he ratted out Vick and the dog-fighting ring, but he says that's not what happened at all. "I'm not a snitch," Davon says, saying authorities knew where he lived and decided to search the house.

Isiah Bout To Be Found Guilty Of Sexual Harassment

While there has been no official verdict in Anucha Browne Sanders' sexual harassment suit against Isiah Thomas and Madison Square Garden, the wording of a note to the judge by jurors makes it clear they have reached decisions on the key points of the $10 million lawsuit and it looks like Anucha is going to get paid.

Jurors reached a decision on eight of nine questions on the jury form. They were deadlocked on the one question, which asks whether Thomas should pay punitive damages. That question only becomes relevant if the jury of four women and three men first determines Thomas and Madison Square Garden committed harassment against Anucha.
