Louis Vuitton put the brakes on T.I. and his 'Swing Ya Rag' video because the 'rag' he's talking about is a Louis Vuitton scarf. In the song T.I. raps, “Alright, okay, I don’t dance, no way. I just take my Louie rag out and wave it round in the air". T.I. says, “We spoke to them. The video, it’s done. But I guess it’s one of those corporate things where they don’t wanna be associated or affiliated with a certain type of brand. A T.I. video ain’t the best look in their eyes right now. No harsh feelings.”
Earlier this year Louis Vuitton won an undisclosed amount after suing Da Brat for showing a Louis Vuitton beach ball in one of her videos and Britney Spears for showing a Vuitton dashboard in one of hers.

First!!!! Wake up people, Louie don't want you to rap about, show off, or even mention their name or products, so why keep buying that high priced garbage.
Just something to think about.
=Deda

Fuck Louie they should b happy the rich is wearing there shit.Be cause the under class isnt paying all that much for it because of all the flea markets swap meets and etc... there shit is being boot legged like a mufu,If I was the rappers I would boycott there shit then c how much money they will keep making.I buy some of there shit, but the rich buy hella more than the norm
They should b glad they r getting there shit advertised 4 free,Some of these companys pay millions 4 a celeb to do what they r getting done 4 free.that's what I call ungreatful.Lol

That's what I'm talkin bout Bootleg.. and You can't even tell,OK...{unless u look hard} hehehe.. lol
Interesting. Guess they saw the handwriting on the wall: that champagne brand that Jay Z is always throwing around has lost market share since it became associated with "urban culture."
Louis is trying to prevent the same thing, but I can't imagine why they wouldn't want endorsements from the likes of TI, Da Brat and Britney LOL.
did they talk to kanye to make him stop calling himself the "louis vuitton don"? as a poor black woman, its hard for me not to feel that they think they're too damned good to be associated with a "certain kind" of person. i just picked up a love of nice purses and i checked out a few louiss that were nice, but i'm not gonna drop a few hundred on a purse if they think they're too damned good for people like me. i personally don't like bootlegs, i feel that if you're gonna wear a nice name, make sure that shit is legit, but that's just me. but fuck it, when my loot is better i won't step a single foot in any of their snooty ass stores or departments.
somebody should sue these entertainers' video editors.
i'm not into coach, louie, non of that, its ugly as hell....that doesn't mean i don't know how to dress my ass off either...its the name that gets people really...some people say they feel like a million bucks...perfume is what does it for me, not the name, its gotta smell really good. that's my fetish.
NEWSFLASH niccas Louis V does not want nor need you business please google their association with Nazi Germany. I live in Europe and if you go into their store he they look at you like u should be pushing a mop who the hell wants a 300 euro keychain anyway ... rappers are so damn dumb look at that sambo posing with all their shit he spent his or yall money on... NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I meant *they* look at you....
SOME OF THESE LV BAGS COST AS MUCH AS A CAR. I PREFER THE CAR.
Unless these companies have concrete proof that these entertainers are tarnishing their brand by featuring/mentioning it, they need to STFU, really. They don't ever have to worry about me putting my hard-earned $ into their sh!t, unless it comes with a filet mignon and a lapdance from the celeb of my choice. Please.
i like louis...leave it to crumb snatching rappers to make me choose...what can u do?

F louie v. only poor folks gotta show off the labels. rich folk walk round in less conspicous ish. be ghetto and buy chains n louie v. wahhah
Gotta love the Nignorance.
Aren't these rappers/actors/businessmen all making their own brands at this point ?
Take heed people -- They're saying this in the midst of a global recession. They don't want/need/care about your money.
We may think that because many of the hip hop styles use these brands that the companies should be thankful because we're helping their finances; but they obviously believe otherwise.
There are other companies that have expressed the same sentiments in the past. Ex. Timberland did, but then recanted.
IMO, if you buy a $1200 bag, you need to be able to have that much CASH in it at all times. (Not carry it with you, but be able to)
SMDH! When will folks realize that many of these high end companies don't want minorities wearing their stuff. That's why it's priced so high in the first place.
Please stop being label whores. Live below your means so you won't be struggling to make it between paychecks because at the end of the day, those labels aren't going to feed you.
I would not want his bum ass waving my stuff either if I was them. Look what niggas did to that Burberry shit, now that the fad is over the old customers won't be caught dead in it.
10:40.. please, plenty of people still wear Burberry... they ain't checking to see who wearing that shit in the hood or wherever.. I guess next rich people gone stop driving Benzes bc rappers do? Never. People who can afford nice stuff and who like nice stuff, buy nice stuff.
^^^Now That's a Lie White people flunt the 2 and 3 thousand dollar shit to,they just arent into the chains. They r more into clothes and yachts, shit like that. They b having on 4 and 5k outfits and u cant even tell because that shit butt ugly ,but they spend and buy dumn shit just like us. Who cares if it's legit as long as youre legit. it's all about people havin there own taste/different style ,because 2 me that really shows who think they r 2 good 4 something or not I could where the name brand and look damn good and where the bootleg and look even better.Like they say don't let the clothes where you,you where the clothes..that goes 4 a purse 2Personally I don't think all name brand shit look good anyways. And believe me I have kids my house is full of that shit.Like someone said @ the top she's a perfume person, now that's me I love 2 smell good.So first u smell me then u c how good I like,Damn good combination if I say so myself.I just think when it comes 2 the black rappers and so on they just try to make up 4 things they didnt get when they grew up.They dont think about investments.
I wonder if they know how many Louis bags T.I. has bought for his main squeeze Tiny??? I bet they don't give a flying fukk either...lol...gotta laugh about this stupidity b/c it's laughable..Louis Vuitton does not want their "other" customers finding out that a rapper with gun charges who raps about dope boys is endorsing their product...Here's a Tip, T.I.P..If they didn't come to you or your mananger offering money for an endorsement deal then sit yo azz down somewhere, They don't want or need your free endorsement..Let's not buy Tiny anymore Louis bags, luggage, scarves etc..

maybe i missed the memo, but i dont find LV to be all that. you all ths people running around screaming LV and LV not wanting your bisness. didn't you ;earn anything from the rappers of the 90's and the designers who said i dont want my clothes worn but thugs and gangsters.
HE DIDNT CARE STILL RELEASED THE VIDEO KNOWIN THEY WAS GONNA SUE. HOPE IT WAS WORTH IT AS MUCH LOUIE THAT HE COP HE SHOULD OWN STOCK BY NOW
PEEP MY NEW MUSIC VIDEO
"NEVA DROWN" AT

Companies like L.V. have a HISTORY of making luxury products, that's why celebs use, wear and associate themselves with them. L.L. was there before entertainers flashed it, and will be there if they stop.
It's not just brand name, it's quality.
I personally don't care about their attitude or their label.
Niggas is so materialistic. Niggas will go broke off a NAME every time if you let'um. Don't really even matter if da shit is fly or not. Put Roca on a cowboy hat and niggas will rock da cowboy hat. An LV beachball? And real talk, Louie wouldn't be the first fashion mogul to state it's desire not to be associated with "urban" people. Am I sayin' wear 2-stripe bubble yum tennis shoes and no-named clothing? Hell nah, but niggas devote way too much respect and money to tryna outdo da next man. Fuck Louie, nigga. Just make sure yo mortgage is paid on time.
7:53, said that the knock offs are just as good?
8:28, are you serious? How did Crystal loose it's market share?
9:17, so what is perspective on this?
I remember when Tommy Hilfiger did not want Aaliyah to wear his clothing as well as other minorities.
This is why I am so over name brand stuff.
Its more than the fact that TI is urban. Plenty of hip hop artists say or wear Louis Vuitton in their videos. TI got into some trouble with the law therefore they dont want him associated with their brand. Look at the people they've gone after already-Da Brat who also has law trouble, and Britney Spears who is a hot ass mess. They haven't reprimanded other hip hop artists such as Lil Bow Wow who is wearing Louis in the Marco Polo video or Jay Z in the video Bonnie and Clyde (old video i know but i was just watching it). Louis even teamed up with Pharell to create a jewelry line. They just dont want their name associated with people who are so controversial. They want to protect their brand
Ok Louis Vuitton is so generic anyway. Bootlegging has made this brand the Tylenol of asprin. There are so many better bags that are copied less and have much more of an exotic appearance.
That's funny because Sex In The City refer to Louis Vuitton all through the show. I don't see the company wanting to sue them.
Only1Nikki said @2:44 PM
That's again what I'm talking about.You r so right.
Da bottom is dat these companies want to make as much off da hip-hop culture, WITHOUT scaring away or being dis-owned by their loyal boojwah client base. In this day & age where people/groups seem to get offended by anything and everyone, companies like Louie aint takin' chances fuckin with certain niggas. Image and perception is about big dollars to these companies, so da management of dat image/perception makes cents/sense.
Malika, I think they don't mind Kayne. It's the more hood/urban crowd who they don't want sporting the goods along with the trailer trash. When a high end designer is worn buy everyone, it takes down the prestige of the label. Look what happened to to the Tommy Hillfiger brand.
I can't get with the logos if you are going to purchase a nice bag, make sure it's one that's a classic. When I pay for a bag, I want it to be something I can wear for a long time. BTW, Cole Hann and Longchamp as well as Marc by Marc Jacobs sell very nice well made bags which run about 100-500. Expensive yes but not mortgage expensive. Futhermore, they will last you a very long time.
@DFY- Smelling good is to you what having nice looking feet is to Beegee. BTW, if you are female check out flowerbomd by Victor and Roth.
how could tommy not want aaliyah to wear his clothing...when she and kidada jones were models for him? sheesh!
I remember when Tommy Hilfiger did not want Aaliyah to wear his clothing as well as other minorities
CG, this was a rumour. He went on Oprah to deny it. He has had and continues to use black models in his runway shoes as well as his advertising campaigns(real money for a model).
How you been anyway, it's been a while since you been hanging out.
LOOK! i like nice ISH too just like the well to do people and yes i buy coach, Louie and Gucci! i love woodbury commons! F*CK that racist ISH i buy and wear what i want! and can afford! and ill do it to prove anybody can and if they dont like it dont make it! this is a free country!
its two ways to look at this bull-ISH!
Aon 4:49- I need to go to woodberry commons. What the prices look like for Gucci and Prada there?
Fuck that honey! I got a couple of lv's, gucci, coach , and chanel bags in my closet. I was raised off that high class stuff. Alot of it is stuff My mother and aunts gave me. Let me tell you guys something about the fashion industry. Old fashion houses don't want hip hip or even pop branded on things they don't approve of, it brings down the name of the brand. The only fashion houses that accept this is the newer designer who steal hip hop style. If you had a logo you wouldn't want any hood motha rocking your established 200 year old fashion house. sorry it's the truth from a black girls mouth. personally I buy european brands and they are expensive and great quality. the only people that love black is ourselves. At the end of the day they want our money just like the white man, but they want our image rocking their labels.sad but true!
I see a knock off bag a mile away! ladies it aint cute! especially when the thread is hanging or the thread color don't match the real bag. I crack up with the zippers look fake and the inside looks starnge at times. please people if you can't afford it, it wasn't meant for you. go buy a Guess or Bebe bag!
dumb ass mfs.
come out on video and blast those uppity mfs for not wantin u to rock their brand.
i cant understand why some black folks love folks who cant stand us.
i be dayumed if imma keep givin free publicity to a racist ass company but these dumb azz rappers steady doin it.
just goes to show, money cant buy intelligence OR common azz sense.
LVMH (LV's parent company) probably did this as they feel it devalues their brand - the same reason they went after Britney Spears. However, with LV literally being the McDonald's of "luxury fashion" I really can't see how their brand could be devalued any further. One sees so many damned kids with LV hanging off of their arms, hips and butts that it's really quite played out.
Also, as a company, they do have the right to withhold a product placement if they feel it's not appropriate for their branding. These companies do have profiles to maintain if they wish to retain their market share and grow their businesses.
Both Britney and T.I. would have been better advised to have actually spoken to LV first before featuring their products in a video. If they had they may have been paid to feature a LV product in their videos. That's the way product placement works.
I doubt that this action by LV was racially motivated. They'd be stupid to do that, especially considering the ever increasing economic power of African-Americans. They're a business that wants to make money, just like any other. Their actions against T.I. and Britney may have very well been "class" motivated though.
I wouldn't particularly want street thugs, convicted felons and mentally unstable, trashy pop singers associated with my brand either. Oh, by the way, I'm Black: I didn't grow up in the hood and I don't want or need to be "gangsta" in order to "keep it real". If anybody walked into my store acting like a thug, or a loudmouth fool, I'd show them the door - I don't care if they're black or not.
If one is going to shop at these high end places, then one needs to carry one's self with dignity and respect. These are businesses one is dealing with. Therefore, they don't want fools and thugs coming up into their establishments and bringing down their image - which is turn would cost them serious money.
To anyone that feels they've been "dissed" in a LV boutique, just do what white folks do when they get poor service: make a formal complaint to the store manager. And, if you're not satisfied with the response you get, move it up the line by making a complaint to regional management.
White people getting treated badly in LV too on occasion, by some snooty sales assistant that thinks it's a big deal to work in a LV boutique.
Anonymous@5:14^^^^Like I said in my above statement.{IF YOU LOOK HARD ENOUGH {HATERS}But 1 thing I can tell u,U can't buy your bootleg from everybody because some of the shit can look bad but if youre a grown Ass Women u should b able 2 tell if it's sportable or not. BILL @6:03pm>>>>>>Fuck all that, just to wear somebodies Purses,Fuck Louis Vuitton ,And all that Bullshit you just said. It's my money and I or we don't need no white mans approval to where what the fuck we want to wear.If I/we have the money and we pay for it we can where it bottom line no if's and's about it,what somebody being criminals or thugs got to do with sporting an outfit. When you get done those thugs and criminals be the ones who be spending and getting them fuckers rich.and acting crazy in a store were did you get that from you went from being a thug to acting a fool in a store...WTH
@6:09- you will like flower bomb if you like something different. It doesn't have that perfume smell like most perfums. It's differnt in the same way that Donna Karen's Cashmere is different from most other perfums on the market.
@6:37- I've seen the trailertrash and hood folk cut up in Bergdoff's when they see some of the prices. If you can't afford keep it moving but we can all enjoy looking at things of good quality. I can't afford a Pacaso,Van Gough or Warhol but I can certainly enjoy looking at one in the musseum(tp)
I worked in the LV store in Atlanta at Lenox mall from 1999-2003. It was a very strict job and I did collect a couple bags while there. what I will say is that customer service is very important to them. i remember one girl got fired because a customer complained she rolled her eyes at them. the customer come up in there stuck up and you have to deal with the snobby attitudes and spoiled brats. Don't tell them there is a waiting list! thy may go crazy! I left the store because they rarely gave black promotions. I felt like I was working like a slave in 3 to 4 inch heels 5 days a week to a whole bunch of label freaks. I love retail so I work in Betsy Johnson and they made me assistant store manager after a few years, and the pay is decent. Lv just wants your money!
Anon @ 6:37: The issue is not about the "white man's approval". All kinds of people, from all races, work at LV - even in upper management.
If you actually understood high-end fashion branding and corporate law then you would have known exactly what I was talking about. And, you wouldn't have dismissed it all as "bullshit".
High-end fashion is an image business, and what T.I. is doing is also an image business. At this level, if one does a product placement, it has to be approved by the company that manufactures the product. That's the law.
LV doesn't give a shit if the average person buys their stuff and wears it on the street. However, if somebody is going to feature it in a production that's probably going to get international exposure, that's money to them. And, you can best believe they are going to demand to be paid for it, one way or another. And, if they don't get paid, or they feel it doesn't promote them in a manner that's suitable, they will put a stop to it.
Regarding your belief that criminals and thugs have made LV rich, I seriously doubt that. However, if you truly believe it, then go ahead and get your thug on - I'll sit back and watch. And, then I'll shake my head when you wind up in prison or dead.

This is a wake up call. Louis said he don't want your business. Beside Gucci's better anyway.
Please! Those bags/luggage are made of primarily vinyl coated canvas, which is no more than a petroleum product, like plastic, over cloth, and some leather trim. Cheap and socially irresponsible materials for far too much money.
SCREW LOUIS! America is in a deep, long term recession! Most folks can't afford that mess and keep their lights on, food on the table, and house warm, too! Keep that overpriced nonsense in Europe (or the Asian sweatshop it really comes from).
To my black folks, stop going out of the way to give them your money, knowing they don't want it. They don't care about you and they certainly don't "give back to our communities." Ever see them give away turkeys for Thanksgiving? LOL! For the love of black pride (and real hip hop), stop glorifying liquor, over-rated designer junk, (illegal) weapons and drugs, and so-called gangsters. Get it together, my people.
Being hung up on material things is never worth it. Read a book. You might find it to be a more rewarding experience than touting designer duds.
P.S. The real Louis Vuitton died back in the late 1800's.
Rant over. Peace.
@7:25 PM- where 3-4 heels a requirement? Or could you wear stylish flats as well?
ladyluck, since tom Ford left, there are very few black models used at Gucci. MArc Jacobs uses a decent number of black girls over at LV thought.
That said 8:25, unless a bag is serverly marked down, there is no way I am buying anything any time soon
i saw him at lenox mall in atlanta gettin' his Louie fix, LOL. He and "Tiny" LOOOVVE some Louis Vuitton!! if i were rich and famous, i'd still shop at a variety of stores as i do now. when i shop, i don't shop for names. the jeans have to fit my booty just right. the color, fit, cut, everything has to be complimentary to my frame.i personally think its mostly the younger generation that ask mommy and daddy to buy them 1200 dollar pairs of sneaks or hand bags. although there are adults that make 10 bucks an hour and have 2 or 8 kids with no child support from the father, and still make time to buy some Louie. TO EACH IS OWN. that's why God made credit cards and bill collectors, lol
P.S. If you look in the back of the "white beauty magazines" you will see a link to a website that allows people to rent hand bags. they are supposedly not knock-offs. theres probably some gimmick to it. also, if i did get a high-end handbag, it'd better have 4 wheels on it!
chick noir! when I was there we had to wear heels! flats were considered homely looking and they made you look fat! it was very strict. We wore suites everyday! I was only being paid 12.00 an hr to suffer for 8 hrs a day! you also have to have your hair, nails, and makeup well done. the people in the store have to represent the label well. They told a girl in the store to take off her corn rows even though they were micro corn rolls. I wore wigs through most of the time because I have natural hair or I kept it tightly pulled back. We didn't have a heavy set person on our staff. appearnace is everything in high fashion retail.
like bill said, it's not just racially motivated, it's class, and image as well, remember they included trashy britney in the mix.
at the end of the day everybody has their own personal tastes, people are going to buy what they want to buy whether they can afford it or not, so again it's really not a black or white thing.
you work at betsey johnson in perimeter, anon? I going through there tomorrow.
I don't understand how people can wear knockoffs. I'd feel so self conscious. If i can't afford the real things, i don't want the knock offs. I have a coach bag and an italian leather bag I got in england. i like obscure things anyway, i don't need anyone telling me what's fashionable, I find it myself.
Chic, I didn't really like flowerbomb. I LOVE the one by D&G, i just bought a new bottle. Have you tried Harajuku Lovers? I keep forgetting to check it out.
Are y'all forgetting that whole Hip Hop awards, semi-automatic, silencer incident? is this someone you'd want representing you as a brand?
But if you ask me, louis vuitton stuff is ghetto anyway. I'm sorry but why the hell does a high fashion house make a lv beach ball? what kind of people would want that?
"tiny" and T.I. look like Kermit and Miss Piggy together.
AAAAwwwwwww!!
I like Louis Vuitton stuff myself. What they said to JayZ was racist in terms of the Cristal, however what if you made a well made product and people were cheapening it by throwing it (the Cristal) on video models? I think they going after everybody hood including Britney Spears.
I agree with 10:40 and Burberry, it was meant as a brand. If Michelle Obama was caught in it, Denzel's wife, Anglea Bassett they would not be in the same uproar as Lil Kim in a thong of it, Britney making jeep swatches of it and rappers having parties in there stores only to find s... missing when the soiree was over.
7:25 I visited the Lennox mall with family and I will say that I saw this black guy who was a salesman treat these VERY hood girls like Queens trying on shoes. However I have been in some stores you thought a funeral was going on at 6.
Tommy didn't say he did'nt want Blacks in his clothes, however he did do a long diatribe in a business magazine talking about he didn't understand why people (Black) who could not afford to put food on the table, purchase basic necessitates, lived in unsafe housing (PJs) would spend large amounts of money for his products. Some Blacks criticized and said he was speaking out of turn but he didn't care to recant. I noticed he hit Oprah once people stop wearing his stuff to explain away the common known first rumor.
i think tommy clearly stated that he didn't want black people in his clothes. this mofo made a generalization about ALL black people. THAT IS RACIST! any sane person doesn't want to wear the clothes of a racist. that just goes to show that he doesn't think much about black people. i don't blame the many black people who stopped wearing his clothing because of this.
That whole thing about Tommy Hilfiger saying he didn't want Black and Asians wearing his clothes was a rumor started by a competitor to damage the Hilfiger brand. I'd suggest that one actually go read the interview that Oprah did with Hilfiger about this. Below is a link to it:
http://www.oprah.com/slideshow/oprahshow/oprahshow1_ss_20070502
I've got a couple of Hilfiger shirts and a flight bag that I wear on occasion. However, I really don't like Hilfiger's designs that much as I find them a bit too conservative for my tastes.
Tyson Beckford used to model Hilfiger designs. Therefore, Tommy can't be that damned racist if he'd hire a black man, and pay him serious money, to model his clothes. And, if I recall correctly, I've seen other black models wearing Hilfiger as part of a runway show or doing print work.
anon @ 10:20PM If you read what I wrote, again, you'll see that I didn't imply that race was a factor at all in LV's decision to sue T.I. for unlicensed usage of their products. And, in case I wasn't clear, I will state it again: Race was not a factor in LV's decision to sue T.I. for unlicensed usage of their branding.
It seems to me that LV was unhappy about two things: 1. T.I. did not have a license to include a LV product in a commercial production 2. T.I. has a felony conviction on weapons charges for which he is about to go to prison for. Therefore, LV probably felt that his unwelcome - and totally unlicensed - commercial endorsement of their brand would damage their image.
I have GOT to laugh. Seems like the more these costly labels and products reject us, the more some want them.
SMH
bill sit yo gay azz down somewhere.
if one can find a dildo to sit on.
faggot.
I work at the one at lenox, but sometimes I do go to the one at perimeter mall if they are under staffed. I love working there. You can come in with orange hair and nobody will blink twice! loves it!
Let's face it people. These companies cater to rich white people. When they see people like TI and Da Brat wearing their products, they don't like it cause in their eyes it brings down the value.
@7:53
Good point!!
If TI has any balls, he would take all of the LV bags he bought Miss Piggy and publicly burn them.
CAMISHA said Are y'all forgetting that whole Hip Hop awards, semi-automatic, silencer incident? is this someone you'd want representing you as a brand?
Damn are some of you guys just stupid as fuck or what. Why do you keep saying representing,He's not trying to represent anymore He's just buying the shit for god sake,Do you just put in your mind what the blog is saying and u comment on shit that is not there. I just dont get it.I can see why you dont like knockoff.to wear knockoff you have to have something going on about yourself to pull it off.And {Bill} that was way to long to have posted that bullshit twice. And when you get threw Race is the issue,I dont care if they added Britney or not. They are some racist ass people. They're mad when black people can afford to buy the shit that they made for the rich white.Im going to tell you nothing is worth the money you pay for it anymore,Everybody is trying to get the cheap production of there products./sweatshops.I'm not a purse carrier or lover.but when ever I decide to carry one,Yes I do happen to have a few,and one happens to be a L-V and it is a real one, and I think I had it about a month before the strape broke. But my cheap purses are still hanging in there.

well, i'm glad mary j. blige, usher, and aaliyah, and quincy jones' daughters stopped modeling his brand, because they were making themselves look really stupid.
And I'm curious. Is Citron "a black brand"? I ask, because Nivea is modeling for them. And she needs a stylist--most definitely!
Also. Half the Louie stuff you see is fake. That's also a big reason. Most rich white folks buy the real deal. You know Niggas get that fake!
I was on one purse blog site and rich whites buy the fakes as well. The ones that are "fad" looking one white woman said she buys on Canal street in NY backroom, not the stuff sold out front. The ones that will have added vaule like the different Speedys (women 2-92 carry these)or Manhattens they buy the real deal. Some on the ones Madonna is posing with in the new ads I personally would buy the fake because the bags can date themeselves. Only thing I would buy real hands down would be suitcases like TI is leaning on or Hermes.

They don't need us, nor do they want us, so why do so many of us spend unwisely on their product? Some of us spend more for LV than we give love to our own! Support those, who support us! PLEASE WAKE UP>>>>>>>
anon @ 1:34PM, I don't really care what you, and that other fool that call me a "faggot", think of me.
You both remind me of a lot of black kids that I went to school with; who seemed to think that education and intelligent discourse were the sole province of whites. However, as long as you continue to think in such a dysfunctional way, you will never grow and you will never prosper. And, the same thing will happen to your children and your children's children - I'm sure you'll pass on that same dysfunctional thinking to them. Therefore, continuing the cycle of the enslavement and exploitation of Africans that began in America some hundreds of years ago.
Our ancestors would be ashamed of you.
@8:42- God bless your feet. Standing up in 3-4 inch heals for hours is no joke. I've noticed that in most high end stores the workers are slim. I can recall seeing only one plain averge sized(10-12) woman working in LV. Otherwise, the women have a very glamerous look to them.
CamishaChic, I didn't really like flowerbomb. I LOVE the one by D&G, i just bought a new bottle. Have you tried Harajuku Lovers? I keep forgetting to check it out
Wow, most people like Flowerbomb. I've tried the four Harajuku lovers but I like only one. Of course it's the one that doesn't really smell like perfume. It seems to be the one which sells the most from what I see in stores.
I don't like to rock fake handbags either Camisha. For some reason it just rubs me the wrong way. Now for clothes and shoes, I could care less. Forever 21 and Macy's sales here I come but not handbags. Traveling and handbags are my only true luxeries. Everythng else, I do/by on the cheap.
@1:34- I hope you took the LV purse to the store to have it fixed. Prada and LV are really good with fixing their handbags if they break.
12:29- Tommy doesn't understand the way poor people reason. You see the same behavior amongst havenots worldwide.

Therefore buy from those who use black models. If a label never has any black models in its' ads or runway shows. Don't buy from them.
Tyson made 7 figures from Ralph Lauren back in the day when he was the face of Polo. It was the highest check earned by a male model at the time.
@Bill- Just brush the ish off your shoulders and stand tall bro.
It's a trip some say dont buy, fuck them, but on the other hand we/blacks/white/children. think when someone tell you what you cant have we want it even more..In some ways I dont blame them if you got it do as you please with it.As long as your mortgage is paid children r feed etc....I'm just triping how we say the white this the white that, when we as black people talk badly about our own kind.you speaking of white not wanting us 2 where there clothing, shit back in the day they didnt want us to have there women they were hanging and killing us and we didnt stop then, so what in the hell you think they r going 2 do about the purses and so on,it goes deeper than just clothing. You say wake up,buy from your own, shit when you go in our black stores they jac the prices up so high you think youre in some of the expencive stores. Now lets keep it real blacks hate 4 blacks 2 come up!!We r our own enemies..Hate 2 say it but it's so true.We r haters of ourselves. Not all of us but alot.not including me,I love 2 c my friends come up all I ask is. {can u help a sister out 2.}.
@ Chic Nior, thanks for the encouragement. However, while it was appreciated, it was hardly necessary. My parents didn't raise a fool and I've got a pretty thick skin. ;)
By the way, I've checked out your blog and I see you're involved in the fashion industry. I am too - well, just getting started really. However, I'm doing it "down under" because I immigrated to New Zealand about 10 years ago.
Maybe I'll holler at you on your blog sometime in the future. :)
^^^Bill, I've always wanted to go to New Zealand. What part are you in?
@DFY, how is buying "white" luxury labels/stores "coming up"?
People are going to buy what they want to buy. It's their money to burn as they want. I think it is wrong to support companies that clearly don't value you as a company. That is why I stopped buying from CompUSA despite all their great deals, I don't eat at Denny's or Cracker Barrel, I've never worn Tommy. I know he did the whole Oprah thing, but I know for FACT he made numerous declarations that he did not want Black people wearing his label. Period. End of story. He gave Tyson work because Tyson is gorgeous. He appeals to white women and gay men alike.
I supported FUBU when it came out. The acronym was genious. I also don't buy Nike because they use sweat shop and child labor, etc. I think about who I'm supporting with my consumer dollars. I wish more people would do the same.
Louis Vuitton Malletier, commonly referred to as Louis Vuitton.
Happens to also be one of the oldest fashion houses in the world, having started in 1854!!!!!
Now for some of you, that may not have a calculator handy. This is the duration of 155 years.
Now for you highly ignorant blacks, and some whites out there, what does that mean to you?
Even the ones of you with
the smallest brains should be able to figure this tid-bid out.
It means that any company that has survived that long, did not need your black asses then, and they
surly do not need your black asses know.
To some companies it is not about sales, it is about prestige of the product, they put their names on.
Just like there is a difference between new money, and old money.
But that is another concept, that most of you would not even begin to understand.
And yes, I am black, for those of you wondering.
And remember it is just not about race. LV sued Britney Spears as well.
It is quite simple actually.
Certain companies simply do not want their products associated with trash,
Regardless of how much money the trash may have.
And I am quite willing to bet my fortune that,
Louis Vuitton will survive another 100 years without TI, or HIP-HOP...(BET) ARTOFWAR..
Wild Safari What r Youuuuuuuuu talking about. You basically said the same thing I said. And if u started from the top u would understand were I was coming from with my comment,I'm just tripping on how people are defending L-V...Fuck them and all the years they go back,Who really gives a flying fuck.they are not going 2 do a damn thing 4 u or me @ the end of the day.
ARTOFWAR said: you highly ignorant blacks and some whites out there,THAT'S THE SHIT i'M TALKING ABOUT WHY DOES SOMEONE HAVE 2 B IGNORANT Because they don't agree with what u have 2 say, thats ignorant on your part 2 think that way.And who gives a rats ass about L-V history, how many years they have been around,I do know my history. So what blacks wont make or break them.but @ the end of the day we do contribate 2 alot of these so called upper class companies. We will get there one day even with our own people as haters.
But honestly we are really giving them 2 much of our energy,When they dont give a fuck about us.If U like it buy it,If U don't,Fuck them..But I just wish people could really c how much our black rich put into this crap,U will b like damn.
@ DFY..... Your statement says that I'M defending Louis Vuitton? That is ridiculous.
I could not give a rats ass about LV.
I knew most of you would miss the point.
It is not arrogance, it is my assurance of fact. Just because you did not like
the words that I used to prove the fact, doesn't make it any less factual.
some people like the world sugar coated, so that they may easier swallow the truth , like
children, needing to take their medicine with a teaspoon of sugar.
The truth is that people who try the hardest to associate themselves with the most prestigious material items,
Especially the ones that can not afford to. Feel invisible to the world around them, and for that very reason.
They believe that high priced items will make them visible. That is very sad.
Unfortunately it is black people in this country that feel most invisible. That is why you see a lot of blacks
surrounding, and drowning in things that they can not afford. and do not need.
It is to fill that emptiness, and to be visible to the world.
But in the end, it never works, you just end up looking like someone that is trying much to hard,
a person that came from nothing, and is probably headed for worse. Our prisons are a testament to that..
Anyway getting back on topic.
The fact that Louis Vuitton doesn't need you, is evident by the fact that some of your very own ancestry
were still slaves, when the company was founded.
And remember I said black trash, and white trash.
It is not a racially exclusive thing, it is a class enclusive thing.
Black people have to begin to stop playing the race card every time something doesn't go are way.
If we plan to grow a not only as a culture, but as individual people. That ish is really getting old, and stale.
The fact that you automatically took it as racial issue proves that blacks have a long way to go.
I am a black man. And I run many companies some private, some publicly sold on Wall Street..
If I where to wear anything LV... as a matter of fact they have sent me free items, I choose not to wear any.
And you want to know the real reason why? well if I walk out of my office and see some thug, want to be punk,
want to be rapper, or some homeless dude wearing what I have on, then it is time for me to move onto something else.
And that is the exact point that some of these prestigious companies are feeling.
They are beginning to lose their richest, and most loyal clientele, and that is not good.
Because when you young kids move on to the next trend, these companies will not have only lost the upper crest,
but the lower crest as well. and that is what people like JZ or TI will never understand, nor will most of you.
LV would not have a problem with me wearing their haberdashery, and I am black, none at all..
SO you see, it has very little to do with race, and more to do with class.
If my grandfather had started a company 155 years ago. I too would not want to see it in some
low lives video, with a bunch of big booty females, no matter how much it increased are annual sales.
That my friend is the difference between class, and trash.
Trash will do anything for the money.
WHILE class will maintain its reservations, regardless of money.
It is going to take most black people sometime to understand the difference.
Because just a few blacks in this country have just started to make the real cake.
Until than, money or lack of, will be the main topic of conversation for most blacks.
Did you know that in some circles, the mere mention of money, is considered in bad taste, and vulgar.
Untill than, carry on. (nuff said....) ARTOFWAR.
@ Wild Safari, I'm in Auckland - the eastern suburbs to be exact.
If you get the chance to came here I highly recommend it. It's really beautiful and quite relaxed socially. :)
For me, sporting these labels is like sporting big chains and medallions. How many people (regular and celeb) will/have come to regret all that money spent (when their home is about to be foreclosed, for example)?
Bill that shit was just to long to continue to read You basically repeated the same bullshit you said in your earlier posts. I'm a very educated person and all of this is just bullshit to me,I really dont give a rats ass.I never put the race card out there unless it is clearly there,And any so called intelligent person black and even white can really see these facts, believe you me I am not some kinda scorned Black Female, thinking all the whites are out there to get me or hating me.I am a very sequre Grown Ass Women that loves herself both in and out.So what i'm saying so you can understand me I dont need any of there shit or any other name brand to define who I am.I am 1 and 1 is Me.One Love. You say we are not needed Im sorry if you feel youre not needed.Shit I'm the bitch in charge of me,and you let me tell it I'm needed even by Youuuuuuuuuuuu. Now You Can Take That to LOUIS VUITTON and see want they cash this..Peace Out My Brother From Another Mother
DFY, I never addressed you. I think you have me confused with ARTOFWAR. ;)
Some minorities that have modeled for Louis Vuitton include, Naomi Campbell, Liya Kebede, Pharrell and Jennifer Lopez. Those are the ones that easily come to mind.
Just as T.I. would like to control the image of his personal brand and intellectual property, I could only imagine that LV would like to do the same. This is a company that has been around for over 150 years. It's profits are not soley dependent on its fashion sales anyways hence the the name LVMH= Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy.
Why are you all trippin on a European brand anyways. At a time when we are in a recession, shouldn't we try to promote brands that are owned by African-Amercians (Tracy Reese or Sean John).
LV makes some fugly shite!
SHITE=VARIATION OF SHIT IN U.K.'s dictionary
FUGLY=FUCKIN' UGLY
8:54 I totally agree with supporting our designers.
Art of War white people are very interested in what we think, remember you read it here first, BLACKS are about to become vogue with this new presidency. So true they don't need our money, but Hermes another well heeled clothier was kissing Lady O's ass a couple of years ago.
LV has worked with many African Americans
Blacks ya'll are about to be on that world stage so every stupid misstep we take is going to be on blast. People are going to be emulating you and by God even African fabrics are taking a another turn again in the stores. Lips hair and color will be out there so hold your head up. Just watch all the ads on tv.
I wouldn't by a piece of LV (products) LV can go straight to HELL.................
Stop buying that bull!! They ain't got no love for us! Believe that!
"They ain't got no love for us!" Seriously? All of you wonder why you are looked at like a piece of &%$# when you walk in the store? Speak english.
