This was for an issue of Allure where many actresses will be naked - they do it every year. Something about "revealing" one's body and being comfortable with being naked. I think the "liberation" thing is a bit tripe but there are scores of women who have not looked at themselves in a mirror completely naked in years because they are ashamed. I think the issue is supposed to encourage women to get rid of the shame. Perhaps they should have chosen a wider range of body types, that I can agree on.
Of course Michelle Obama would not be nude in a magazine - she is not an actor or a model. She is the wife of our President - I would expect nothing less. But I bet she has looked at herself naked in a mirror because she seems to dress to flatter her figure. You can't know what that is unless you assess the whole thing.
But Sharon Leal is an artist (snort) and actor's do shit like this all the time.

This is a grown Black woman confident in herself, expressing her self and acknowledging her beauty. Ain't nothing wrong with that.
