Larry Johnson's Mouth Getting Him in Trouble

A couple of nights ago Kansas City Chief Larry Johnson was arguing with some of his Twitter followers calling one a fag and another a broke loser. This was one day before he also went off on reporters calling them fags too. The Chiefs finally got fed up with Larry's behavior and told him to sit his ass down somewhere, literally. Larry has been told not to show up for practice or any other team activities while an internal investigation is conducted. So you know what happened next, Larry issued the standard apology:

First of all, I want to apologize to the fans of the Kansas City Chiefs and the rest of the NFL, Commissioner Goodell, the Chiefs organization, Coach Todd Haley, his staff, and my teammates for the words I used yesterday"

Seems the ex went mad after she caught Maxi in the car with another woman and threatened to smash his windshield with a brick. While windshield didn't get broken the ex did get pushed to the ground and her dress ripped, or so she told the cops. Maxi was arrested and spent the night in jail before being bailed out.

It has been a while since my last post but I've been super busy traveling all over the place..sheessh :)

Now that I have a moment to sit down and reflect, I wanted to talk to you about something I have recently noticed. I am a lil surprised at the number of people that seem to disapprove of the relationship with my boyfriend. I find this reality to be kind of hard to accept. There are times when I notice people giving us long hard stares and those stares are usually from my own people!

Honestly, I wish everyone could benefit from the beauty that can come from experiences that happen outside of your own comfort zone. It is truly a beautiful thing that can add so much to your life.

Give it a shot and you can learn so much from a person you never thought you'd talk to or have something in common with. I'm not just talking about dating but about all types of relationships.

Sometimes society makes it hard for us to be comfortable enough in our own skin to embrace others who are different.

I am a firm believer that we are all the same.

Basically what I'm saying is love everyone. Rise above the hate.

Originally slated for a December 1rst release date, Alicia Keys new cd 'The Element of Freedom' got pushed back to December 15. Alicia tweeted last night that it's because she wants to add more songs, but whispers around the record industry suggest the push back is because her first single 'Doesn't Mean Anything' didn't take off like they hoped it would. All charges have been dropped because for one, TMZ decided not to press charges and two, Kanye and his roadie enrolled in anger management classes, so the judge gave 'Ye a community service order and the case has been dismissed.

In Tyler Perry's last newsletter to his fans he revealed how he'd been physically abused by his father as a child [click here if you missed that]. In his newest newsletter Tyler says in response to the abuse allegations his father sent a message to him through his brother saying, "If I had beat your ass one more time you probably would have been Barack Obama." Remember when Diane von Furstenberg's adult son rented an airplane and flew a message across the sky ordering Reggie Miller to stop messing with his girlfriend [click here if you missed that]? Apparently those two are still beefing because Reggie just filed a restraining order against the dude. Last Sunday Reggie and a gal pal were picking up carry-out from a restaurant in Malibu when von Furstenbaby pulled up beside Reggie's car and started hurling obscenities. When Reggie tried to pull off, von Furstencrazy blocked Reggie's car, jumped out and challenged him to a fight. When Reggie's companion returned to the car with the food, they tried to pull off only to have von Furstenlooney follow them down the street, cut them off and again challenge Reggie to fight. And to make matters worse, von Furstenfool had kids in his car the whole time.
This is not going to end well.

Tichina Arnold writes a blog on Essence.com called Tales of a Hollywood Mom. Here's an excerpt from her latest entry:

Tonight, for 20 minutes, I had to listen to Alijah cry herself to sleep to the chant of "I want my daddy!" These are the nights that I wish never existed, but unfortunately do! It's the challenging and heartbreaking side of single mommyhood.
I'm getting sick of hearing MYSELF give her the same reply, "Ok baby, but daddy is not here, we will call him tomorrow. Now go to sleep". I can see her little wheels in her head just turning as if she's about to say: "You say that all the time; she has not said it yet but she is starting to figure out that (for now) daddy is NEVER going to be there when she wants or cries for him.
It's just another single mommy issue that I have to deal with "head on" when the time comes...and it's coming faster than I expected.

I'm realizing that unfortunately in due time...SHE'S going to have to face the reality that her dad is just not as available as she might like for him to be.

One of my first embarrassing wake up calls to being a single mom, was when I picked Alijah up from Pre-School one day, and the teacher said that Alijah held on to the leg of ANOTHER students dad and said "I want you to be my daddy!".

Dave Chappelle Almost Broke a Record

but he had to pee. Dave had been on stage at The Laugh Factory Sunday night for over five hours trying to win back his marathon comedy crown but got disqualified when he left the stage to urinate. The original record was set by Richard Pryor in 1980 after he pulled off a two hour and 41 minute set.

Richard's record was broken by Dane Cooke after he stayed on stage telling his corny ass jokes for three hours and 50 minutes in 2007. Dave later shattered Dane's record with a grueling six hour and 34 minute set, but Dane defended his title with a seven-hour and 34-minute set last year.

AJ Jewell Murder Suspect Free on Bail

Frederick Richardson, the man accused of beating Real Housewife of Atlanta reality star Kandi Burruss' fiance Ashley 'AJ' Jewell to death in a bar fight outside an Atlanta strip club, was freed on a $10,000.00 bond today while awaiting his possible indictment.

Bond was initially denied to Frederick but after a coroner's report suggested AJ may have died as a result of complications of Sickle Cell Anemia, as opposed to a head injury sustained during a fight between he and Fred, a bond was issued. If the final autopsy report finds that Sickle Cell, and not the beating, was the cause of death, all charges against Fred will be dropped.

DeShawn Snow Still Having No Fund Fundraisers

If you watched the first season of Real Housewives of Atlanta then you might remember [I say might because she was so boring] DeShawn Snow, the sweet and well meaning wife, whose ideas never really got off the ground. During season one Deshawn held a flop of a fundraiser to benefit her DeShawn Snow Foundation, and even though she invited hundreds of guests to her private residence, she didn't make a slug. I Saw Good Hair

and I have to say, I'm not mad at it. Full disclosure here: I'm not a big Chris Rock fan. He comes off as self-hating and coonish to me at times and I fully expected to hate this movie. I went in expecting to be ridiculed and offended and I wasn't. Good Hair, simply put, was good. I don't want to give away too much, but Good Hair brought to light some really important aspects of black hair care, like how outside of owning and running salons, Black people aren't the ones making the real money off Black hair. Good Hair won't make you hate your weave or feel ashamed of it, but it might make you want to take it out. Does that make sense? You'll just have to see it to understand what I mean, but I give it two thumbs up.

Jim Jones Pleds Guilty

Remember when Harlem rapper Jim Jones jumped somebody from Ne-Yo's entourage in a New York Louis Vuitton store on Christmas Eve last year[click here if you missed that]? Well, after initially denying it, Jim pled guilty to misdemeanour assault in a Manhattan court yesterday.

Jimmy was sentenced to time served, which he completed shortly after being arrested for the fight. Jim still maintains his innocence and says he only pleaded out to shorten his probation so it wouldn't interfere with his touring schedule.

The Problem With Good Hair

Chris Rock's new film Good Hair hasn't even hit theaters yet and already it's hit a nap snag. Documentary filmmaker Regina Kimbell filed a lawsuit against Chris yesterday charging he'd ripped off her idea for his movie. Regina says she screened her award winning documentary 'My Nappy Roots' for Chris on the set of his tv show Everybody Hates Chris back in 2007. Regina's film features celebrities talking about various hair styles like the conk, press and curls, Afros, Jheri curls, and dreadlocks. Chris' film features celebrities talking about weave, perm and the lengths Black women go through to achieve straight looking hair.

Regina is seeking 'no less than $5 million dollars' in damages and legal fees.

Snitches in the house say Jay rolled up in a jeep with no doors and the top off blasting BP3 [which slipped to #2 on the charts with week], and once inside didn't say one word to Joey, stole all the shine and left Crack seething in the VIP nursing a bottle of Hen Dog Kanye West Style. Nice to know there are no hard feelings.

Nike is once again sponsoring Michael Vick. Mike lost his initial Nike deal more than two years ago when his involvement with dogfighting was exposed.
