Earl Paulk Mentored Bishop Eddie Long
(WSB Radio) -- WSB Radio has learned another Atlanta minister with a sordid sexual past mentored Bishop Eddie Long as a young preacher.
Ole Anthony of the Trinity Foundation, a watchdog organization which monitors clergymen like Long, says the late Bishop Earl Paulk mentored Long as a young pastor.
When WSB Radio asked Anthony about Long and the three lawsuits filed by three former members of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, said he was shocked.
"But his mentor was Earl Paulk," said Anthony.
Paulk, who died last year, was an evangelical mega church leader accused of having sex with many women in his congregation including his brother's wife and his own granddaughter.
Anthony compared Long's "Spiritual Sons" program in which his three young accusers were members with Paulk's "Kingdom Relationships," saying both were really designed to sexually gratify the clergymen.
He slept with his brother's wife and fathered a child by her.
Members of Archbishop Earl Paulk's family stood at the pulpit of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit at Chapel Hill Harvester Church a few Sundays ago and revealed the secret exposed by a recent court-ordered paternity test.

It has been reported that the Bishop Eddie Long is going to step down as pastor after his sermon set to be delivered on Sunday. Long is currently the pastor of the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta. He was recently challenged by three young men who filed suit against the pastor for allegedly coercing them into sex.
There are also reports that as many as 30 young men have contacted the plaintiff's attorney, BJ Bernstein, in an effort to file suits of their own or join the existing lawsuit.
Bishop Eddie Long's sex scandal has been in the headlines of national news for several days. Since the story broke, there have been suspicious pictures released that feature Bishop Long wearing muscle shirts and spandex, posing in the bathroom. Some have wondered why Long would send these images to his "spiritual sons."
On the Bishop Eddie Long sex fiasco, which I discussed this morning on MSNBC, there appear to be three angles of consideration: Legality, morality and hypocrisy. Legally, one has to determine if Long violated his fiduciary responsible to take care of the young men under his guidance. Secondly, there is the question of whether the men he may have slept with were of legal age and whether or not there was coercion.
In terms of morality, there is the obvious concern about a pastor preaching the bible on Sundays and violating biblical principles by allegedly committing adultery and sleeping with men. Many members of his congregation may not be happy to see any evidence that this is indeed the case.
Finally, there is the issue of hypocrisy. Bishop Eddie Long has gone out of his way to position himself as a pastor standing against gay rights. He has also been accused of pushing homosexuals out of the church. The idea that he may be gay himself certainly undermines his public credibility.
It appears that Bishop Eddie Long may become the Tiger Woods of the pulpit. It will be interesting to see where the case goes from here, and as I said two days ago, this is probably just the beginning."

I listened to a talk radio show on Atlanta area station WAOK and found people calling in to defend Bishop Long Dong despicable and in a severe state of denial. Wake up, members of his congregation. Everybody filing reports and making claims against him isn't lying. Also, human beings of sound mind are often judgmental in nature. Using judgment, good or bad, is part of the decision making process.
Both the fathers and the mothers FAILED each of these boys. It may not have been their intention, but it was the end result.
The fathers failed them for not being there or disappearing for years on end. As I have read so far ALL of these boys had little, if any contact with their biological fathers.
The mothers failed them by worshipping the wrong God. Rather than worship Jesus, they worshipped the Pastor, the Prosperity God and the Favor God.
They willingly handed over their sheep to an alledged wolf thinking they were getting prosperity and favor in return.
I hope that this is a wake up call to men that men need to be responsible for their seed, either catch it before it spills or stick around and raise the result. That being the player in his he is leaving his offspring for the wolves to devour. It is a lie that all a child needs is his/her mother.
I hope women learn not to BLINDLY submit to the patriarchal authority of unworthy of them. This includes your preachers. If Rev is telling you or showing you that it is ok for him to run your household for you (taking your sons and daughters and paying for your house) you'd better know that in most cases, somebody is paying a price.

What's with this age of consent BS??? Each one has the right to file suit. Why??? Last I heard, there is no Black religious organization that has ruled for centuries by family, by fiat, and by the sword.
None own a sovereign city-state run by a sovereign head of state. Nor a sovereign bank.
Nor priceless works of art in mass.
Nor do they have over 450,000 priests & nuns & 2.2 billion followers worldwide.
Nor a private military defense nor a police force. Nor an embassy.
Nor the power to grant or revoke citizenship.
Nor have they waged war from 1095 to 1272 AD, actively partaking in the deaths of 9 million people, by some accounts.
Nor have they sanctioned the slave trade which brought death to 6 million Africans during the Middle Passages.
Nor are they the largest holder of land titles in the world bar none, owning more land than any government, and whose value no one can acurately calculate but the Vatican and they ain't telling, though some say it's $3 trillion.
Whay am I saying all of this?
When your organization has been hustling and getting theirs since at least the early 2nd century, running game for centuries on end, there is some shit that you CAN and WILL get away with.
