R&B singer Mario's mother called that police after he attacked her inside the apartment they share for the second time this week.

At 12:53 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 900 block of Fells St for a call for a "mental case breaking up property" inside an apartment. Officers met Shanita Hardaway in the front lobby - she was crying and appeared very upset, officers wrote. She said Mario was "throwing and damaging property" in the apartment they share, and had pushed her using his hands and forearms, causing minor pain. When police went up to the apartment, they found a damaged china cabinet and the floor littered with broken glass. A mirror was broken, and there was a large hole in a closet door.
She said it was the second such time he had put his hands on her in recent days - on Sept. 27, she said, they got into an argument in which he pushed her "eight feet into a living room wall, where Ms. Hardaway hit her head on the wall," police wrote in charging documents.
"When this officer asked the victim if she fears for her life in reference to her son's actions, the victim replied 'yes'," the officer wrote.
No word on what sparked either incident.

Wow, there definitely has to be some drugs involved in this. I saw a interview with him awhile ago where he talked about her drug use and addiction while he was growing up. He spoke how they were working on their relationship due to her drug use in the past. This is sad.

You ain't neva lied, back in my younger days my moms was a serious crackhead who did some real grimy s*it, needless to say after an altercation, I had to attend 3 months of anger management classes and her ass was locked up. so yeah when yo mom's is a crackhead and act like keisha cole's mom, you will have those moments when you are tempted to channel your inner Bruce Lee, "parents provoke not your children to wrath" and vice versa. he needs to get another place and cut ties with her till she fixes herself. you can't deal with a toxic parent on drugs. it eventually worked out for me and my mom. I banned her ass from my life for 3 years and moved to another state, she found jesus and is doing better, I have forgiven her and allowed her back in my life on the condition, she keep that jesus mess to herself. it took a lot of healing for us to move forward, but life is short and since she's no longer a crackhead stealing my s*it. we are now the best of friends.
Wow, that's really sad. I remember that MTV documentary he had. He was saying that his mom had a drug addiction and it made it difficult for them to get along. But why is he getting so angry? First a sound guy at a festival, now this?

1:07 PM- It was televised on some reality type of TV show a few years ago, that she has issues with substance abuse, and that's how I got wind of it. She's a mess and has been that way for a long time. He probably doesn't know her to be any other way.

This is the deal. Mom is back on the stuff and he(Mario) attempted to help her. She needs to be drug tested and her NA sponsor needs to come forward and report that momma has not been attending group. When it comes out that Mario was trying to save his mother all you ignorant mofos will just go hide. Drug addiction is life long and makes people include parents lose their minds. And yes, if she was getting out of control he was supposed to check her because if he didn't, the dealer on the corner would have clocked her but good.
Please, if his mama was living on the streets y'all would be the first ones saying Mario is ungrateful, cold-hearted, selfish, etc. The police probably took mama's word over his -- angry black man over innocent, abused older female, who would you believe? What I meant is what the situation saw when the police arrived. Mario just being a black male was probably guilty before they even took a statement. They probably THINK his mom is innocent which is why I said wait for all the facts to come out.
I would have no problem with him putting her ass out on the streets after several failed attempts to help her get her life together. He can't make her clean her life up. She has to want to do it on her own and put in the effort to do so, or she'll never get it together. She's likely perfectly happy doing what she wants, right or wrong, and is mad because he is trying to get her to stop. Some people just can't let it go.

The Bail/Bond was for $50,000, which he posted, and he was immediatly released.
I noticed he didn't give a statement as to why he tore his OWN apartment up.
His Mom must have been doing something she shouldn't been doing and he got upset.

My mom has a fucked up existence and for since I was a teenager until 2 years ago I tried to help her, be support to her, talk to her. Finally, she went over the line and hit me and though I wanted to plant one in her face, I walked the fuck out and have not spoke her since. When I feel I can handle her shit without becoming violent, I will attempt to have a relationship with her, but right now that's not in the cards because I still want to put a boot in her ass.
All the same mom and dad's (or anyone's for that matter) is no reason to strike anyone. ESPECIALLY if you are striking first. Get rid of their dysfunctional asses a keep it moving. That's why we got so much violence in our society right now.

But seriously, I hope you do eventually form a relationship with your mother again. I know it's difficult dealing with a parent that has issues, especially when you don't, and you are trying to help and they just absolutely refuse. You have to walk away from them and allow them seek change within themselves. I went through the same thing with my stepgrandfather. He's gone now, but I'm glad he got sober and we had the chance to reconnect again.

i feel sorry for him, too. my grandmother also raised me, and i know what it feels like to have people talking about the nasty, low things my mother does/has done to get her fix. it must be that much harder for him considering that he's higher profile, and still in maryland. that state is only but so big. he really needs to wash his hands of her until she can get her life together on her own, and can show with action and not just say with words, that she is serious about living clean.
