Last November New Orleans rapper BG was pulled over in a car full of people and police found three guns, two of which were stolen [click here if you missed that], well the indictments came down yesterday and the former Cash Money Hot Boy is facing twenty years in prison...
BG was indicted on two counts of felony weapons possession and conspiracy to obstruct justice. If found guilty, BG faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine on the weapons charge, and up to 20 years and a $250,000 fine for the conspiracy charge.

I hope god doesnt strike me down but in many ways hurricane katrina was a good thing. Crime went down DRASTICALLY in new orleans, all the projects are abandoned and getting torn down to make upper class townhouses and condominiums, and the streets are overall alot more safer.

I've got one son and I'll never understand how some chicks can have baby after baby after baby, knowing they can't take care of them. And then when the parents get overwhelmed, the kids take to the streets and the cycle continues.
Many people lost their homes and lives in Katrina. The gov did little to help them and are taking their homes because they are "abandoned". Aid that was promised is still sitting in warehouses and the money FEMA did send, they want back.
I'm not sure who the upper class is in these times, but at least they have townhouses and condo's being built to house them.

What have you done and contributed to positively impact and improve the Black community? Sitting on a blog, being happy that Hurricane Katrina stole lives and destroyed entire neighborhoods isn't helping at all. I know plenty of young, middle-aged and older Blacks who are living proof that success and happiness is obtainable no matter the circumstances.

Katrina happened because the community was unprepared. We are so busy tryin' to survive from the violence of each other that we have no time to prepare from an outside threat.
Also, too much of our money goes into our self-hatred: weave, nail tips/designs, 40 ozs., Newports, clothes, $200 sneakers. So we don't have any money when the shyte hits the fan.
As a community, we must take a stand. Stop supporting anything in the Media, Music, Clothes, etc. that is demeaning to our people. Do not buy tickets for any group, organization, etc. that promotes the thug, gang, ignorant, murderous culture.
