A week ago during Wendy Williams' Hot Topics segment, Wendy talked about the rumor circulating that Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King's friendship was on the rocks because Gayle was leaving Oprah's OWN Network for CBS [click here if you missed that].
A day or so later Wendy read a letter to her audience that she said came from Oprah personally, denying the rumors.
Needless to say Wendy was very excited about her a letter from Oprah, but Gayle put Wendy on blast when she announced on her radio show that Oprah didn't write the letter and doesn't know anything about it...
The letter Wendy read went like this
“I know there’s been some speculation that Gayle and Oprah had a falling out because Gayle will be hosting the new morning show on CBS. I wanted to make sure everyone knows that there is only happiness for Gayle and this wonderful opportunity.
Love,
Oprah.
P.S. Stay black!"
Gayle shot it all the way down telling her listening audience,
"The letter that I heard Wendy read - I didn't see it - I know Oprah never wrote a letter to Wendy. I said [to Oprah] 'I'm getting all these messages that you wrote a letter to Wendy,' and she goes, 'Gayle, you know more than anybody knows that that's not true,' number one. Number two, when Wendy was saying, 'You know, I think it's gonna put a dent in their friendship?' When this opportunity was presented to me - and make no mistake; it is an opportunity - the first people I talked to were Oprah, my son and my daughter. And I said, 'I don't know; I don't know. They approached me, but I don't even know if I should entertain it,' … [Oprah] said, 'Are you kidding? This is so what you do, the news is what you love … you would be crazy to pass it up!'"

Wendy Williams was on tom joyner's show this morning and admitted that she made up the love oprah part and the stay black, but the letter did come from someone on Oprah's staff and she even named the person.
Wendy really needs to quit with her foolishness!

Why is that when a black lady talks about another black lady in joking or not it has to come to Blows or pulling out wig's or weave's. If Wendy made it up she is just tabloid away from the truth. If not what the beef about. Lady say HaHa and live to fight another day.
Okay I like Wendy and all but she needs to check her sources first before doing this type of ish. It will shoot her creditability. I never buy Oprah would say "stay black" that is foolish. I like that Wendy can keep it real and be messy but she needs to back up her sources for the tea she is spilling in the future. If not, she won't be creditable.

I think the whole "stay black" part at the end was to let us know that the whole thing was a gag. Especially after she made reference to it at the beginning of the segment.

Wendy was actually cute in her younger days and she doesn't come from a bad family. She just chooses to look the way she looks and behave in the manner in which she behaves. It's unfortunate because she could be so much more.

I was watching the show. She said the letter came from an Oprah staff. She added the "stay black" part as a joke because she had just shown footage of some black man following Alec Ballwin (I think) and telling him to "stay black."

Wendy needs to step back and rein herself in. Her show is becoming nothing but tabloid gossip, most of which 95% is either not credible or nonsense. Reality stars show up every day because Wendy runs her mouth and spouts her hypocritical opinions so much, no one A-list wants to show up on her show. How many times can Nene Leakes, Snooki and the Situation show up a month on her show? C'mon!!!! I have no issue with her looks on the outside. I think how she is on the inside is not very attractive. She wrongly places judgment on others when she in fact pulls stunts such as this or refuses to acknowledge her marriage issues is the real reason she passes judgment on people. Not only that, she refuses to admit she's wrong or apologize when she is proven to be. To add, she got mad at even some of her fans for calling her out on her behavior. Wendy acts like a steppin fetchit mess, mainly because she knows she doesn't have competition.
My uncle is about 62yrs old and does not keep up with pop culture so he does not know who Wendy Williams is. I showed him a picture of her and the first thing that came out of his mouth attached with a frown was that "She look like a man." I told him that most people say the same thing. What's really interesting about his comment is that my uncle he is an openly gay man. LOL. BTW, I don't thinks she's that bad looking.
