It's nice how black people always write off their superstars with issues as crazy and washed up....

meanwhile white folks are praising that braindead zombie Shitney Spears and will pay hundreds of dollars to see Hagdonna's geriatric ass perform on stage...or they may even volunteer to get slapped by that lunatic Charlie Sheen

2 weirdo chicks
1 got 5000 kids and 1 got a crack is wack attitude!

TWO OF T GREATEST FEMALE ARTISTS TO EXIST IN CONTEMPORARY CULTURE. Whitney and Lauryn's music are TIMELESS, one for the HISTORY BOOKS, unlike ahem *cough, cough* Pillow Knowles.

RWS...that's nice! Did you get a call or something while posting this blog?

I'm happy to hear that Lauren is doing some songwriting again. She's so talented. But honestly, I don't know why she would want to even mess with the music industry aside from tapping in to make some quick money. And if this is indeed the case, then this is the best way to go about it. Those publishing royalties are one of the best ways to secure solid residual income in the industry.

That being said, I don't know how many more songs Whitney has left in her. This has to be one of the most tragic cases of a beautiful voice wasted. Maybe the best thing Whitney could do for herself at this point is to focus on the acting and producing.

Now Lauren, on the other hand, still has her voice in tact. And I'm still not convinced that Lauren is this insane crackhead that so many of you are painting her to be. That woman must be crazy like a muthafukkin fox because she managed to escape the corrupt music industry at the height of her career without being offed, suicided, or permanently thrown in some institution. She got away with life and limb and oh yeah, for that she gets to be painted with the crazy brush for the rest of her life.

I say the joke's on us! Lauren is probably laughing and saying, "I'LL BE DAT!" She gets to chillax, raise her beautiful children, do a show here and there, and know that she was one of the greatest MC/Singers to ever live! I don't know, maybe for her, that's a fair exchange...

Today is the 67th anniversary of the birth of Bob Marley.

Lauryn went to wearing some of the most beautiful, natural hairstyles in the industry to that mushroom thingy on top of her head. Damn shame.

Cosign 4:55!! I agree 100%- Lauryn told us her plans with her song "I Get Out"- and she did- with her life. Unlike poor MJ, Amy Winehouse and others. Whitney ruined her own career with the drugs-hopefully she will get it together and now at least make a living in the industry.

Word to Lauryn , please don't steal other somgwriter's work and write from your heart and your cd as well. #teamlauryn

Cosign @4:55-I agree 100%- Lauyrn told us her plans with her song " I Get Out"- and she did get out- with her life. Unlike MJ and Amy Winehouse (RIP). Yeah right, both she and Dave Chappelle are "crazy".

Whitney ruined her own career with the drugs-hopefully now she can at least make a living in the industry.

So glad to read that BOTH of them are working!

Lauryn Hill does not have her voice intact go to youtube and listen to any of her concerts last year and the year before then read the reviews. She sounds rough, talks through the songs at a rapid pace so no need to put down whitney to lift lauyrn up.

They 2 sisters from Jersey and Lauryn did produced and did background vocals on the stevie wonder remake of 'i was made to love him ' on whitney's my love is your love album.

Whitney's voice may not be what it was but she has a legacy, is a legend and has a portfolio of cds and is still puting out music and working.

Whitney's last cd was i look to you put out in 2009 and it was #1 on billboard 200 and billboard R&b charts and # 1 in 8 countries, platinum in the us and 2.5mil sold worldwide.

She is starring in Sparkle, producing the movie and executive producing the soundtrack, movie about to hit in august 17 this year then she has Waiting to exhale 2

what's lauyrn doing, living in her mama house.? I love lauryn but don't come for Whitney when she is working and puttin gout product

I am not putting Whitney down to lift Lauren up. I am simply being honest. Whitney lost her voice! You can hold on to the denial all you want but that isn't gonna bring back Whitney's Soprano or her vocal range.

And I've heard Lauren's voice. IT'S STILL IN TACT. Talking, yelling, and screaming through her songs just means that she's smart enough to deliver the songs that her previous record companies have forbidden her from singing without infringing upon the bullshit violations. Just because she's working angle and outsmarting these parasitic music execs by rearranging her own songs by chopping and screwing them with her own voice while dressing up as a clown (LMAO), don't be mad that there are tons of fans still showing up to see her show out!

Besides, NONE of that means she's lost her voice! I've seen Lauren do all that crazy shit and then flip it and break into a flawless vocal riff. So, sorry, just calling it like I see it. Don't take this shit personally... just shake it right off your collar, kay?

Lauren is absolutely stunning in her photograph! I love her dark, mysterious eyes and "angry" eyebrows. She is so beautiful, to me. Classic Black American beauty! Na"hoe"mi Campbell WISH!!!

Anyway ... I wish both ladies the best!

Lauryn Hill is genius and beautiful good for... wait ugh she is Haitian but of course you know if a black woman is genius and beautiful she must be African or Caribbean. See I was trying to root for them but it's just not realistic. Shout out to Lauryn Hill and Happy Birthday to Tuff Gong brilliant Caribbean King.

SoHo, New York said...

^ is a genius and @8:23 there is no such thing as 'classic black American beauty' lol.

^^Low Hoe, I mean No, Hoe, I mean SoHo, take your tired ass somewhere and suck some WHITE dick, okay? Just suck a white man's dick until his semen come out your nose. Seems like that's what you are destined to do anyway.

Record label can not forbid her from singing her songs bull shat, she is singing them faster with a rock beat because she wants to and most people hate it because most of the time they can't recognize the melody and most of her reviews talk about her rough voice. her voice absolutely doesn't sound the same and she is still young

check out sparkle soundtrack and come back at me. the fact is whitney still working putting out product making skrilla. She got a movie she starring in, producing and a soundtrack coming in the next six months. none of whitney's movies have ever flopped, none she starred in or none her company produced, check the princess diaries with julie andrews and anne hathaway and see how much those two movies made. Whitney's sucessfull at selling cds still and acting producing music.

btw, i don't believe this rumour. whitney's next project will be acting in waiting to exhale 2 and producing the soundtrack to that. Forest whitaker is directing again

^LOL! Why do trolls even bother? Get a fuggin life!

11:02/11:03 - LOL @ both yall. Yall some fucking idiots. Hating on Lauren Hill. No such thing as classic Black American beauty? Bitch, try: First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama, award winning actresses Halle Berry and Viola Davis, singer/songwriter/musician/activist Lauren Hill, just to name two or three.

Yall, please don't feed that troll SoHoe, New York. It's obvious this person has a mental issue of some sort going on. For the past three or four days, she/he/it has been putting their ignorance and jealousy over Black American women on display for all to see. I think the bitch is still mad that it was pointed out that African men are worthless in bed, and the bitch can't handle the facts. Too bad, so sad. Bitch better scratch her African ass and get glad!

@11:02pm You're a real fool, Soho-- Lauren Hill is as American as Soul Train and Apple Pie. Everything you say DEVOID of actual facts, Soho. Go to a white blog with your inaccurate bullcrap--because you're a straight up joke here.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lauryn_Hill

Lauryn Hill was born in South Orange, New Jersey of African-American descent, the second of two children born to high school English teacher Valerie Hill and computer programmer Mal Hill. As a child, Hill listened to her parents' Motown 1960s soul records.

^^^oopss, I meant to say, Sohoe

Sohoe, get gone.

SoHo, New York said...

Lauryn Hill is Hatian and she speaks Hatian Patois I have the Fugees album the Score(first record I ever bought yay for me! and she clearly speaks Haitian throughout some of the songs. Lol don't get upset with me, Lauryn is talented, smart and beautiful but this is common among African Caribbean types so I am not surprised.

@ You clearly misunderstood what I said I said that Lauryn is Haitian so that is the reason why she is beautiful + smart do you think that if she was black American that would be the case? Obama is NOT attractive, Halle Berry is NOT black and Viola Davis ?!?!? no comment.

It's funny when people try to diminish ones thoughts by calling them a 'troll' as if I have to agree with you, in my Cher from Clueless voice *as if* ugh...

^ It is so obvious that you are extremely dark, extremely ugly, and extremely afraid of mirrors, Ruckus.

SoHo, New York said...

And as far as me being 'ugly' lol you haven't seen me. It's okay for you think that way it's your opinion. I already mentioned that I used to model I am not going to give you statistics but to give you a visual I would say I am an African version of Holly Madison in other words Holly Madison with dark skin is that a problem looool?

Love the collab idea --hates the plastic wig! Despite the plastic wig Lauren--- still gorgeous.

This would be cray if true but Lauyn not even writing for herself so i doubt it. In the mean time, C'mon Whitney, bring on Sparkle and the music. Can't wait to see you on the screen

Thank you Lord for answered prayer. I love both the ladies and wish them both well.

So what?!!! NONE of us are who we were before. As long as Whitney has sound coming from her voicebox she can and will sing. The Lord has not given us the first word, nor shall we have the last word. If Whitney does not sound like she did 20 years ago, so what? Do you? Are you the same person??!

Didn't think so, haters! The movie will be slamming. R. Kelly writing. Lauryn writing. A great movie. A great cast it will do well for the fans.

For the haters, nothing will ever be good enough!

Whitney does not have to sound like she used to, know why? Cuz she's not who and what she used to be!! And for that matter, none of you haters or negative folk either!!!

YEA I SAID IT!!!! said...

Forgot to say a talented cast. there's no way this movie will fail; the talent is too great. The fans will turn out, the haters will stay home!!

So, what else is new??!!

Anonymous said...

@5:42 You're beyond stupid Sohoe--you certainly don't let facts get in your way.

Lauren Hill was born and raised in New Jersey to African-American parents of slave descent. Nowhere does Hill or her bio say that she is Haitian. Wyclef and Praz are Haitian, you fool.

You're truly an embarrassment to yourself and your family.

You flunkies in here riding for Whitney are not doing her any favors. If you want to promote her work, then fine. But all of this ra-ra, extraneous stuff you keep spouting about Whitney's illustrious career and all the money she has (?) is NOT going to change anybody's mind or opinion about her singing. Continuing to lament on her aging, maturing, and what have you, is just a bunch of hyperbole that you seem to think is going to fly over the heads of intelligent, logically thinking and observant individuals.

Yes, Whitney had a good run and she was an extraordinarily talented singer. But I'd be remiss if I continued to ignore the big pink elephant in the room. Her DRUG ABUSE wreaked havoc on her vocal cords. Now, I was trying to be nice and courteous by not mentioning it but since YOU want to wax philosophical over her aging and evolving into a different person who just happens to sound different, I'm gonna have to apply some reason here.

Now hopefully Nippy Inc. is cutting you a nice sizeable check for your rants because I'd hate to think that you are making all these posts repeating the same shit over and over again on you own dime!

@ 2:32 . . . you wish . . . Whitney's voice was a gift, not a trick; and loyalty costs nothing and doesn't. You haters swear you're right and think you can sway others against those whom they love and respect . . . ain't gonna happen, now sit back and WATCH AND LISTEN to the Whitney in SPARKLE and tell me she lost her voice. . .

YEA I SAID IT!!! said...

@ 2:32 P.M. THIS ONE IS FOR YOU:

Pop icon Whitney Houston passed away on Feb. 11, but her legacy lives on in her classic recordings and movie roles. Whitney’s latest movie — a remake of ‘Sparkle‘ — is set to hit theaters in August 2012. But her fans can get a taste of her former Glory in this video clip from ET.
Starring as “Effie” in the film, Sparkle, Whitney performs a rousing rendition of the gospel classic “His Eye Is On The Sparrow”. Whitney makes liars out of those who said the drugs and alcohol robbed her of her beautiful voice.
