At long last Lauryn Hill records the follow up to 1998's The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill...
According to reports Lauryn's new album 'The Return' is slated to drop later this year and a listening party is planned for next month.
Ms. Hill will perform songs from the new album at her upcoming concert at IndigO2 in London on April 14th [click here if you missed that].
Lauryn debuted a song from The Return called 'Fearless Vampire Killer' at a DC concert earlier this year.

Lauryn does not suffer from 'mental illness' because she is a complex individual with undertones that are beyond your scope does not mean that she is a 'weirdo' or suffering from mental illness' It simply means that she is gifted with a genius that is not common to ordinary humans, similar to Beethoven, Michael Jackson, Nostradamus, Einstein and others. In other words it takes one to know one.

I attended the show in DC last month, and she was simply amazing. The show was sold out, everyone was eager to see her and she lived up to the expectations. The crowd was hype and her performances encouraged everyone to up out of tgerir seats. I loved Fearkess Vampire Killers, I hope that is on her new album.
No other female rapper has put out a multi Grammy winning album that is still relevant 14 years later and is still selling out shows from just that one album. No one!
You can call her all sorts of irrelavants and crazies, but truth of the matter is that she is still here-check, blogs are still posting on her-check, she's still performing and selling out venues-check, check, and lastly also sadly your dumb ass not only clicked on the post-check, but also commented-check. Was a big Lauryn hill fan in the 90's & early 2000's. Sister Act 2, The Fugees & The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill album etc. It's too bad she couldn't keep that level of greatness going on into today. The weird makeup & eyebrows medicated look is just too bad.
Lauryn Hill is very conscious ,and wether it's concerning world events, history past present and future, she gets into a lot of heavy subject material that goes over a lot of people's heads. I find it both puzzling and unfortunate that some of the same people on this post who are mocking her are the very ones who claim to have the proverbial "wool" pulled from their eyes, or who seem to have done so based on the non mainstream information they share on this blog.
Lauryn has covered those topics I'll call the truth in such a beautiful, personal and artistic manner on her Unplugged album. The powers that be are hip to the subject matter found on that album, and as such have created this mainstream persona of her whereby she's touted as crazy. The masses are less inclined to listen to someone whose supposedly crazy. We see this time and time again with other brilliant artist. I'll leave it at that.

Yes Lauryn is smart and yes from what I can observe there is a mental issue at hand. People assume if you have mental issues you cannot be intelligent. A lot of smart people have a mental issue to some degree. It is not their fault. I just wonder if Lauryn condition or effects of medication will allow her to bring the music of her days of young.
I used to be a huge Lauren fan. Then I got wind of all her silliness and antics. I really started to think that maybe all of L's credit on TMLH weren't hers. That could explain the cracking under the pressure to produce a hit follow up album. That is not so easy when you have burned every bridge and pissed off everyone that had to do with the success of that first solo album. Even artists that aren't as popular as they used to still have some kinda spark of their old selves. Some are even better just the label support isn't there. But not miss L. She is just another neurotic narcissistic and entitled has been.

Most artists sweat on stage, but there's a spray you can use to set your makeup so it stays put. Sorry, but I'm with R&B. Lauren's been wacked out for awhile and her make up is atrocious. She's so talented, but she let marley & wyclef screw up her brains. I don't understand her, then gives appearances and sometimes makes her audience wait hours for her. I hope she can get it together, anybody can make a comeback. But honestly, I think all that stress is not what she needs anymore. The industry would bleed her dry. It's best she stay within a circle of devoted fans that appreciate her gift & will gladly pay to support her music.
