Trouble in Wayansville?

It's been more than twenty years since the groundbreaking sketch comedy In Living Color debuted on the Fox Network and the reunited cast has been making the rounds on various talk shows to celebrate the mile stone.

Interestingly enough In Living Color co-creator Damon Wayans has been M.I.A for the reunions and is refusing to allow his likeness be part of an upcoming tribute...

From Dead Line
Damon Wayans, who is credited as co-creator of In Living Color with his brother Keenen Ivory Wayans, was a key In Living Color writer-performer and played some of its most memorable characters.
Sources close to the actor say he declined to attend the ceremony “because it just wasn’t his thing.” But while Foxx (as well as every other In Living Color alum) allowed TV Land to use ILC footage on the awards special, Damon Wayans declined the network’s request for permission to use any scenes with him.
Clips with Damon were shown at the event but, as a result of his decision, such classics as Men on Film and Homey D. Clown had to be cut out of the TV special.

Jennifer Lopez is forever in debt to the brothers for letting her lay on their casting couch and jump starting her career.

She used black men and her ass her entire career to further herself. Diddy, the wayans brothers, ja rule, etc Kim kardashian took a page from jlo's book. use your ass and stupid black men. and it worked for her too.

He s embarrassed now? Playing those characters is what opened the doors for him but if he's embarrassed I guess he has a right to be...

@1:49

You ain't never lied. Non-black women know how thirsty nappy headed jiggabos are too lighten up their bloodline! It is SO EASY to swindle a black man out of his money as most of them are straight fools for light skin and long hair. I know this because I am light-skinned but do not have "mixed looking" hair but I have heard some of the most disgusting things out of the mouths of black men. My mom is brown skinned and I do not play that shit. I actually had to tell one brother to kick rocks after he told me I was better than all those "dark women that look like wesley snipes in a wig".

Ask any light skinned woman who is willing to admit the truth. We get a lot of special treatment ONLY from dark-skinned black men. Light skinned brothers tend to not think being light skin is such a big deal so they are more likely to date a woman darker than them. Brown skinned men Forget about it! Unless they have a real strong sense of self and are proud of their skin they are hunting and pecking for women like me to give them babies. Real talk.

OK thanks for the old-ass tea about J.Lo but I coulda sworn this post was about the Wayans family...I'm just sayin

That Homey the Clown was mostly funny to white folks anyway..

Personally, I didn't find Anton the Wino, Homey or any of his other characters funny, anyway.

Wanda the Ugly woman, Frenchie, Jim (james) carrey as the karate instructor, Ms. Benita, the West Indian family with all the jobs and just about everybody else was funnier than Damon Wayans and Kim Coles (the last season being the exception).

And I know that this is a Wayans post but a while ago, Rosie Perez (the show's choreographer) went on a radio station and said that originally Keenan did not want JLo on the show.

Jlo's career was all smoke and mirrors. she def used ppl to advance herself and threw them away once they were of no use to her. After she finished using the hip hop crown and diddy to sell records and become a huge star, she forgot about them and moved onto ben affleck.

also, please dont feed the race baiting troll, thanks.

Sounds like a money issue to me. Pay the man his dividends.

Yes, we know she's a hoe.
Yes, we know she has made her way through Hollywood on her back.
Yes, we know she's a user.
NO ONE IS DENYING THIS SHIT.
So fucking what!! The bitch still gets work and has money in the bank. She ain't the first or the last to do it. Can ya'll just move the fuck on from J.LO?

@ 2:50 I really dont know why people embraced her into our culture. Her songs were decent, but nothing memorable.

Damon was the heart and soul of the show. I thought he was gonna be a big as Eddie at his peak.Back in the day, Eddie was on Arsenio and even gave a shout-out to Damon being an up coming star.

In Living Color was not that funny anyways.

I think it was a money issue. I doubt there's any beef between Damon and his brothers. His brothers helped produce his sitcom, "My Wife & kids", also produced that wack @ss "Dance Flick". So....it must have been all about the benji's

As for JLO...I'm not surprised she didn't show...Jamie Foxx embarrassed her @ss something terrible on one of his stand up acts...calling her J-Ho and calling her out for not being able to sing...lmao...she'd never show her face on any reunion shows...although I do have respect for Jim Carrey for showing up...dude is a major A-List celeb, it's good that he wasn't acting like he was too good to show up...

But...to the commenter comparing Jlo to Kim K, it is RIGHT on the money...Kim K has been very vocal about trying to duplicate Jlo's career...from the enlarged @ss...to the black men...ole girl's trying lol...

I'm consigning everything said about J.Lo. Not only did she use The Wayans to get on, but she used Janet Jackson too. She was Janet's backup dancer for Year's, but I've never heard or seen a shout out, a thank you, not one acknowledgement after all these years.
Yes Jlo and KK are cut from the same cloth. They will use black men to get what they want. You see when both of these broads got married they did NOT choose black men.

Anonymous said...

Good! They are too f******g old anyway. Nobody wants to see that.

That Old Broad said...

@2:11, you are being co-signed by another light-skinned female. I too do not play the color game and will not tolerate ugly talk related to skin color or hair texture.

I am quick to tell folks old and young who come with that bull that dark skin and kinky hair are NOT character flaws.

Anonymous said...

5:42 PM, KK married two Black men. The second one has a White mother and a Black father.

Anonymous said...

@543 THANK U.

and these dumbasses pant after those 2 whores like theyre the last piece of chicken at a hood kfc. yet when it was time 4 them to tie knots, they picked white men. smh & lol. yet these fools still lust after them.how sad.

kanye is stupid. but then again hes an attention whore too.

ever since his mom went he hasnt been acting right. hope he sees a psych

@2:11

you're getting another heads up from another light skinned girl who punched a black guy in the face in high school for not putting up with that shit!

Anonymous said...

As for JLO...I'm not surprised she didn't show...Jamie Foxx embarrassed her @ss something terrible on one of his stand up acts...calling her J-Ho and calling her out for not being able to sing...
-----------------------------------------
How much you want to bet Jamie Foxx tried to get with J.Lo and she dissed his ass?

Anonymous said...

^^^From what I hear about Jaime, JHo is too dark for his taste.

Anonymous said...

Yes 3:52 this show was nothing to write home about

Anonymous said...

Jlo did pay her dues. She was also a back up dancer for Hammer. Check out the " U can't touch this" video.
All the Fly Girls were fine including En Vogue, those were some fine sistas.

Anonymous said...

@1:39 yeah and too feminine too. hint.

Anonymous said...

@ 2:11....AKA KOLA BOOF...STFU. Bitch you CONSTANTLY hone in on ANY convo about light skinned women, black men who love them and hair texture. SIT THE FUCK DOWN YOU BIG ASS AFRICAN APE.

Anonymous said...

@5:42 It's called moving on up. What celebrity do you know that thanks the manager at Mcdonalds or dunkin donuts for giving him a job so that he can pay the bus/train fare to get to his auditions? Jlo worked for Janet but Janet didn't give her her big break. Yes Jennifer used people to get where she is but so did EVERYONE in Hollywood.

Anonymous said...

@1:11AM Huh? Dumb comparison. A fast food job and a real gig that will actually further your career is a big difference. Her dancing on Janet's tour WAS a big break and a stepping stone in the industry as well as dancing on In Living Color. How do you think she got hired for an acting job? Besides the alleged "casting couch" she had to have put working for Janet and the Wayans on her resume.

In Living Color was not that funny anyways.
