Producers Shaunie O'Neal and Tracey Edmonds cut a deal with Fox Searchlight to bring a Basketball Wives type movie to the big screen....
Loosely based on the lives of Shaunie O'Neal and her friends the untitled film will center around a young woman who follows her boyfriend to Miami after he gets drafted into the NBA.
Tracey tells trade magazine Variety,
"The beauty of a feature film is that we'll have the ability to dig much deeper into the stories and characters that come from this very colorful world and create a very juicy, action-packed narrative."

Robert Downey Jr. played a white man playing a black man in Tropic Thunder. His skin was dyed and he wore a kinked wig. And of course he had to be over the top.
Tracey Ullman did a skit where she had her skin dyed brown and wore traditional Africa dress. Tracey has another character, Shanesha Turner, in blackface where she acts like a "sister girl" who works at an airport. Aaaaaand she's got another one called Chanel, same stereotype.
Ashton Kucher wears blackface in pretending to be an Indian in an ad for something called PopChips. Something similar to what Mike Meyers did for that flop of a movie, the Love Guru, just darker.
The problem with these depictions is that all of them are jokes, buffoons, caricatures. People of color should be tired of being laughed at.
