Cedric the Entertainer is retuning to the small screen in a new comedy on TV Land...
Cedric stars in 'The Soul Man' as Reverend Boyce ‘The Voice’ Ballentine, an R&B legend turned preacher who takes over his father's church.
Neicy Nash stars as the reverend's wife Lolli and John Beasley, Wesley Jonathan and Jazz Raycole round out the cast.
"The Soul Man" premieres on TV Land June 20.

for once can hollywood put attractive full-black women on tv and movies!!! i know for a fact theres some beautiful sistas the industry can find out here. if the likes of lela rochon, robin givens, teresa randle, alysia rogers and aj johnson can be on tv back in the 90'sand look gorgeous,then im sure the PTB can find more chocolate dimes to be in hollywood. but i also notice how when they hit it big with be lusted after by non-black men they started casting them with more roles with them as well,oh i forgot they became competition to the standard european beauty thats pushed all over the world starting here.

No. You don't bring something as serious as the Church into a comedy sequence it just doesn't work with they use a similar concept using a Synagogue and a Rabbi? No. Spirituality is not meant for comedy.

Ced is still one of the funniest cats out there. And Niecy Nash is sexy as hell to me. I'll definitely be giving it a look. I hope it does well.

People keep asking why Martin can't get a show. Love That Girl on TVOne was his show and it was awful. I watched it to support it but it wasn't good at all. I think people want another Martin (the show) but I doubt that can be redone.

Martin has his own live studio audience show in production with a Major network....and by MAJOR I don't mean TVLand. Big ups to Ced though, one of the main reasons why The Steve Harvey show was worth watching.
