Former Bad Boy artist G-Dep was handed a 15 year prison sentence for confessing to an unsolved crime...
In 2010, as part of his drug rehab for PCP addiction, Trevell 'G-Dep' Coleman walked into a police station and confessed to what he thought was an armed robbery committed in his youth, that turned out to be a homicide [click here if you missed that].
After a short trial G-Dep was found guilty, despite his claims that detectives had matched him to the wrong crime.
Yesterday G-Dep was given a 15 year prison sentence, the lowest sentence allowed by law.

I think him confessing then taking it back is what fucked him up. If you admit to the crime be prepared to do the time or at least realize that there is no statute of limitations on murders.

@ D&L I think it was reduced from the original sentence they were going for when this 1st spilled, if I'm not mistaken it was supposed to be harsher..

come se,com sa.....15 fed time is what,10-11 yrs with good behavior it might be less. He threw himself in their hands by admitting anything so he should just lay down. I know he felt guilty,but this is a prime example of why you never,ever.....SNITCH.The Judical system is no place for anybody to be counting on anytype of mercy. Especially a black man.

I can never understand ppl who tell on themselves and say that they have to get something off their conscience. When you are sitting in jail all by yourself with no one to talk to, will you not still have it on your mind....your conscience? Depp is dumb, I would've taken that to the grave.
Hell, he could've received a LIFE sentence. Depp better take those 15 years and ride it on out. He may just do 10. That ain't bad....lol
@11:18 15 yrs still seems harsh but yeah if that was the min then I guess, I just think he has mental problems and need help that jail wont give him.

where (in this article) did it say anything about "FED" time..? 15 years is not what he will do.. what matters is.. was it 5to 15.. 3to15..? for all we know his firt parole may be in 2 yrs..? but most states have a 85% statute on violoent crime.. so hes looking at 12 before release... it all depends..
