In the final post on Letoya News Network, entitled 'Dear Letoya', site administrator Common drags Letoya for ignoring her fans and blames her for her own lack of success writing,
"Most artists would kill to have a fanbase like yours. I don’t understand this reluctance to communicate with your fans. Break the barrier already! STOP this secrecy. You have (had?) DIE HARD fans, not every artist has that. But for some reason it feels like you neither respect nor appreciate them. You make us feel like we’re trash, like we don’t count. You have said hurtful things to fans I won’t mention here. You shouldn’t forget that you’re on our payroll and that without us fans there wouldn’t be a LeToya."

I don't know if I agree that celebrities owe you nothing. They do have a job to do - it's the line of work they've chosen and that is to entertain the public. So without the public approval and acceptance, there is no demand for the celebrities. And when celebrities get too big, they can tend to abandon their fanbase. But on the flip side, this Common person going after Letoya is doing the most by expecting her to regularly address the fans or communicate with them like she is their own personal toy. Obsession at its finest.

Anyway, I swear I hate the way the 'fans vs celebs' interactions pans out nowadays, from the days in the past. I mean, I get that you (as a fan) want more. I use to feel that way about certain favorites of mines too, but I also knew that unless I was asked MY opinion from said artist, it wasn't MY place to read them from detroit to Africa, about THEIR career choices. And that's the problem that alot of these celebs deal with nowadays, that you couldn't pay me all the money in the world 2 put up with. Nowadays, "thanks" to Myspace, Facebook, Twitter & even most (if not all) blogging, everybody & their 3rd cousin's "opinions" are now able to be submitted to the world, and it not only reaches the world, but it also (sometimes) reaches said celebrity themselves. And you know what, I truly think that that's one of the main reasons todays fans are more harsher with their "opinions," because they're clearly hoping that in some form of fashion their words will reach that celebrity. Same thing with stans...The way they troll the Internet looking 4 even the slightest "negative" comment about their "favs" so they can go on the attack, praying that someone who's ATLEAST an associate of said celebrity, will show them that comment, and in some way return the "love." That's why I always say stans & haters are 1 in the same.
Not that I consider the writer of this^ particular letter a hater. I don't consider him/her a hater. They seem to be a fan. I just think that he/she's (like so many) has a funny way of showing their "love," that's all.
Well said, 11:30 AM. I grew up during a time when the only celebrity news you got was from entertainment shows and music magazines, and you had to physically GO OUT and BUY records, cassettes, and CDs. Seeing all this "stan/hater" fuckery on the 'net makes me miss those days so much!
I don't believe in ANY artist to this degree. It's pretty ridiculous. While I understand the desire for music from a music artist, I don't understand why people want to know EVERYTHING about every moment of a celebrity's life. I enjoy blogs ans celeb news, but I'm not gonna write a dissertation because they don't thank me personally or tweet me what they do every fucking minute. I don't even care about what someone I KNOW is doing every minute, let alone a complete stranger that I've never met nor can relate to. This is where social networking goes...awry. Whilst the letter was very entertaining (Keri Hilson and "success" in the same sentence? #InstantDeath!), I still found him to just be extremely over the top.

When your business is trying to sell a service, the buyer want something extra for their money and that's includes respect. The poster didn't ask for a kidney or a heart but feed-back.
