OJ Simpson is asking for a new trial in a bid to be released from prison...
Back in 2007 OJ Simpson burst into a hotel room brandishing a gun and confiscated OJ memorabilia from a broker on a tip that turned out to be a set up [click here if you missed that].
OJ was convicted of armed robbery and kidnapping and sentenced to 33 years in prison on October 3, 2008, exactly 13 years to the day after he was acquitted of the murders of his wife, Nicole Brown-Simpson and Ronald Goldman.
OJ filed papers on Tuesday requesting a new trial citing inadequate representation in his robbery case.
The case for a retrial will be heard in a Las Vegas court on July 3, 2012.

We all know OJ's locked up right now for those murders. Didn't the judge that convicted him on this even make a comment alluding to it? Don't get me wrong.
