"This is what everyone fails to realize. I want out. I want out, man. What the game is going to and what has evolved into from a personality standpoint, it goes against what I represent. What I embody, this game contradicts that. I want out. I’m in it because I love music and I have obligations, contractually."
"It was at one time, this music was about speaking to the people who felt like you feel. Now, the people I’m speaking to, they don’t necessarily feel like how I feel. In my day, if you were rapping about something you weren’t really living, that was a strike against you. You were held accountable. Nowadays, nobody even expects you to live up to the things you rap about. That goes against what I represent, what I stand for. So if they outsell me, then that’s just all the more better for me to fade to the back and cross my legs on my desk."

I understand where he is coming from completely! I would rather listen to a song I didn't really like by an artist I didn't really listen to that came out 15 years or more ago than most of the music today.
^^^rap music that is. I still like my Neo-soul and some R&B. I wish R&B would come back to the forefront again. Kids now a days don't get to hear black people (especially black men) singing about being in love and it is really effecting them in a negative way.
For every gangster rap song we listened to in the 90's, there was an equally good and popular R&B song on the radio/video/charts and even the hardcore gangsters and thugs were bumping BOTH in their cars! But those days are over.
I don't blame him with likes of Soulja Boy, Nicki Minaj, Kreayshawn, Lil B, and Tyler the Creator butt fucking the game.
Why do they all say they want out like the are firing off warning shots. Something is very suspect about this whole industry. I guess you can't get all that money and not expect to put out in whatever put out might mean to them that is what they have to do. I agree with TI on this. The hip hop music has becomes complete trash......mainstream wise. To get any good hip hop, I either got to listen to old school or underground music. The problem with the music today they keep putting up the same tired gimmicky people like Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Jay z, Solider Boy, Drake, and so on. I miss the 80s and 90s music truly. Heck even R&B and neo soul is getting fade out too. We all need to boycott these jokes the music industry is shoving down our throats!

They say they want out not because of the Devil. They have contracts to fulfill. Owning your own label doesn't mean anything. Others are financing your label and you have to pay them back with interest. Alot of them have such horrible contracts that go back maybe 20 yrs. They leave the game they lose everything.
