Last night around 9pm Tyler Perry Studios in Southwest Atlanta went up in flames...
Neighbors claim they heard two explosions before the blaze started.
The fire was put out by 10 pm but one building was badly damaged and the front of another had completely collapsed.
Tyler Perry's 200,000-square foot studio sits on 30 acres and houses several sets and a 400 seat theater.
Tyler Perry was at spotted outside the burning studio but would not speak with reporters.

Spike Lee really needs to chill though. Setting studios ablaze because the Knicks are super weak? I can't.
Quite unfortunate. However, I'm sure this mega-studio is insured and all will be well for Tyler & Co.
if you look at the numbers, tylers last couple of movies didnt do so well. kevins movie basically outsold tylers perrys last film in 2 weeks. i guess ppl are getting sick of madea.
what to do if ur losing millions, have no liquid money, and still have the expensive day to day expenses of running a studio?

tyler perry is nowhere as rich as the media claims him to be. this fire could very well be a money grab and that is the real purpose of expensive insurance coverage anyway.
tyler perry is still touring doing plays as MADEA and they are selling out and constantly adding new shows with every stop. that fact alone should let folks know tyler perry fortune is a FACADE created by the white media to put his COON ANTICS on a pedestal for purpose of ridiculing the black community to the masses.
I'm not a fan of his movies or plays but its sad to see his studio that he did work hard for nevertheless go up in flames. I hope he recovers from this though.

I'm no fan of his, but I have empathy for him. Imagine all that he's worked so hard to build being set ablaze. This story is very sad. That's his livelihood. I wonder if he was getting threats or the like prior to this happening?
