As Chris Bosh prepares for the Miami Heat’s third game in the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder, his baby mama has applied for food stamps, Gossip Extra has learned.
In her first interview about the legal battle that Bosh and former live-in galpal Allison Matthis have been waging in three states, Matthis’ lawyer tells me Orlando resident Matthis was laid off from her gig as a secretary in a construction company and this week applied for federal food assistance.
Matthis is also expecting to see her home go into foreclosure because the child support Bosh is paying doesn’t cover her mortgage.
Bosh pays $2,600-a-month in child support but according to state guidelines, someone like Bosh whose yearly salary is in the $18 million-range should be paying about $30,000-a-month.

Reasonable child support and self sufficiency are what she needs. Her own income to pay for her home, lifestyle, and personal expenses, plus money from the father to take care of the child so the little girl can have good food and medical care, nice clothes, bedroom furniture, toys, vacations, etc. and college education in the future.

He got a lawyer and sited the times they had arranged for him to see the baby and they ordered him visitation. I also think she is using this as ploy since she was on Basketball Wives and he shut that down,so she might be trying to get back on the show and using income as a way to prove she needs more money and can be on the show.

Try my homestate of Texas, we seek to destroy and damage one another. I had to take care of my aging grandmother and mentally ill mother but still needed a job so I took a job not making much money. It is easy to say "don't put the cart before the horse", which I agree with (basically meaning don't have out-of-wedlock children), but married people also neglect offspring and financial obligations. The difference is that certain legal rights are available to those that married as opposed to those that didn't.
She should seek an increase in child support based upon his income, not simply because she lost her job, but in the mean time if she doesn't get umemployment compensation or a food assistance subsidy of some sort, she needs to plan on living off of child support until her financial situation improves. She might be unhappy, but she should still be able to keep a roof over her head.

Actually, I think a child's lifestyle should not involve a lot of expensive stuff. I bet if you ask a kid what they want, it would be rather inexpensive to meet their desires. When I was a little girl, I just wanted to feel safe, be loved, go places, learn stuff, and have friends and toys and fun - that's all! Some but not all of that worked out for me.
