What I mean by this statement is Kola may very well be a black American from Baltimore or D.C. and NOT African. I lived in Baltimore (attended College in Baltimore)and also visited D.C. so I have been around black Americans there as well as Africans. The black Americans there (like most black Americans everywhere)were envious, ghetto and territorial. The Africans there I admit were a bit stuck up, yet intelligent and hard working and still overall amicable.
Maryland sucks as a whole. There are plenty of Africans in Maryland, DC and Virginia but even that couldn't help it. And I know what I am talking about because I was Undergrad in Baltimore at an elite top school (Loyola) and my intentions was finish at the school and than get my JD degree at nearby Georgetown University. I did well at the school and the black Americans were very jealous of me because I didn't want to join there 'clique'.
Kola's cursing and acting belligerent is not customary for an African woman but this behavior is not unusual for a black American in Baltimore, there were times were I was scared because outside the campus there was a predominately black American area-- just like the USC campus and those black Americans with dreads ( a lot of the black Americans in Baltimore have dreads) used to look at me and try to talk to me and it was just scary. Anyway the only good think I have to say about Baltimore is that they have good crab cakes, Cheese stake sandwiches, a few decent African restaurants, the Marriott Courtyard in Montgomery County and Inner Harbor other than that nope.
I don't brag about my modeling past because people just look at me and see model. There is no need to mention it people just assume that I am one, used to be one because I 'look like one' and that is only on a good day. I will not shy away from speaking on it because it did help me.

Your right about speaking for the whole of a city based on a few experiences but Maryland is just okay. I really didn't like it but like you said it is no different than any other East Coast city. It is actually kind of weird because many of them have 'southern accents' but the city itself resembles Philadelphia and New Jersey. A lot of people that were students there were from New Jersey.
New York is nothing to brag about either. New York USED to be a good place but the only places I like in NY are SoHo, Harlem and Midtown. There are a few gems in the outer boroughs but it's not enough to keep you enthralled. New York City is a good place to be if you like competition and have money to waste.
Africans don't consider themselves royalty. I do have 'Elite' family members but it is neither here nor there. The way I speak may come across as 'arrogant' but this is not even a big deal in the African community. I am American of African descent, born and raised in California, and have lived on the East Coast for 12 years, all in the DMV.

What I mean by this statement is Kola may very well be a black American from Baltimore or D.C. and NOT African. I lived in Baltimore (attended College in Baltimore)and also visited D.C. so I have been around black Americans there as well as Africans. The black Americans there (like most black Americans everywhere)were envious, ghetto and territorial. The Africans there I admit were a bit stuck up, yet intelligent and hard working and still overall amicable.
Maryland sucks as a whole. There are plenty of Africans in Maryland, DC and Virginia but even that couldn't help it. And I know what I am talking about because I was Undergrad in Baltimore at an elite top school (Loyola) and my intentions was finish at the school and than get my JD degree at nearby Georgetown University. I did well at the school and the black Americans were very jealous of me because I didn't want to join there 'clique'.
Kola's cursing and acting belligerent is not customary for an African woman but this behavior is not unusual for a black American in Baltimore, there were times were I was scared because outside the campus there was a predominately black American area-- just like the USC campus and those black Americans with dreads ( a lot of the black Americans in Baltimore have dreads) used to look at me and try to talk to me and it was just scary. Anyway the only good think I have to say about Baltimore is that they have good crab cakes, Cheese stake sandwiches, a few decent African restaurants, the Marriott Courtyard in Montgomery County and Inner Harbor other than that nope.
I don't brag about my modeling past because people just look at me and see model. There is no need to mention it people just assume that I am one, used to be one because I 'look like one' and that is only on a good day. I will not shy away from speaking on it because it did help me.
Bloggers here are just scornful because they can't identify with the awesomeness that is being African. I am not saying Africans are the best but we are the best.

I am residing in Maryland now for a few years now, but I am not from here orig. I think Maryland State and MVA is ok as a whole and no different than any other place I've stayed (Jersey originally).

Thank you for your polite response. I did say that when Africans come here or are born here they become corrupt. Your right about speaking for the whole of a city based on a few experiences but Maryland is just okay. I really didn't like it but like you said it is no different than any other East Coast city. It is actually kind of weird because many of them have 'southern accents' but the city itself resembles Philadelphia and New Jersey. A lot of people that were students there were from New Jersey.
New York is nothing to brag about either. New York USED to be a good place but the only places I like in NY are SoHo, Harlem and Midtown. There are a few gems in the outer boroughs but it's not enough to keep you enthralled. New York City is a good place to be if you like competition and have money to waste.
Africans don't consider themselves royalty. I do have 'Elite' family members but it is neither here nor there. The way I speak may come across as 'arrogant' but this is not even a big deal in the African community. In fact in the African community I am not even 'good enough' because I don't drive this Benz, or have this degree from Columbia etc. This is no different in the Asian community. I go to the Asian community in New York and I see so many Asians driving a Lexus you would think that has become some sort of requirement.
You all think I am being 'elite' but in the African community I am not even accomplished in their eyes. I keep liken the Asian to the African community because there are SO MANY similarities and ironically the Asians are in Africa doing business now.

I am American of African descent, born and raised in California, and have lived on the East Coast for 12 years, all in the DMV.
I deal with Africans at my job, socially, and when I got my graduate degree. I found them just like everyone else, just doing what they got to do to make their lives better.
