Who thought it was a good idea to book Cissy Houston a room at the same hotel where Whitney Houston died..?
Cissy Houston was in LA to perform for the 2012 BET Awards tribute to her daughter, Whitney Houston, and according to reports BET booked Cissy a room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Understandably Cissy was uncomfortable staying in the same hotel where her daughter passed away just a few months ago and was moved the Regent Beverly Wilshire.

she was free to pay for her own accommodations to whatever hotel she wanted, but she chose to stay in a free one that BET provided. dont complain.
If that is true she knows what is best for herself.
It was BET job to accommodate her accordingly she should not have come out of pocket or anything She had a right to be uncomfortable.

I would have liked to see a REAL tribute, with powerhouse vocalists (Aguilera, Knowles, Carey, Franklin, etc.) singing some of Whitney's greatests like "I Have Nothing" and "I Will Always Love You". However, if Cissy wanted to come sing and pay tribute to her baby girl, so be it. Not sure why Cissy is given so much flack. I respect her off general principle: She's an elder.

People do not deserve respect just because they are old. People earn the respect of others. People make themselves worthy of respect.

I agree. Not all older people should have respect. Some of them are as crooked as they want to be. My grandmother is a straight up you know what. She talks about everyone including me and my siblings. She'll help people out and then talk about them. She put my mother through you know what. Too many older people want to tell some kid they don't even know to give them a ride,or boss them around. I am not a damn slave. People always want to keep some other group down. It is sad that Cissy Houston lost her daughter, but it is also sad that she and her husband left their children to basically raise themselves while she traveled around chasing her own dreams for fame.
I would feel more empathetic if it wasn't for the fact that all THREE of her kids developed devastating drug habits.
And now she is willing to sell Whitney out, yet again, to make a few dollars for herself by writing a tell-all book.

BET knew EXACTLY what they were doing. They booked that hotel as a sign to Cissy that if she pushed a homicide investigation or talked too much about mysterious happenings surrounding Nippy’s death, the same thing would befall her.

I never watch the channel and the only reason why they manage to get real music lovers to watch the show is because they award all these shitty talentedless fucks but then go old school so you can watch LIVING LEGENDS like Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, Prince, Diana Ross, EWF get Life Time Achievement Awards or tributes for Nippy and Mike. Otherwise, NOBODY would watch that shit because everyone knows that big name celebrities buy awards and then pay to have BET put the camera on them during the entire 3 and a half hours!

You are so wrong on this. While respect should be earned, our elders are entitled to respect because as a generation, they pave the way for others. The problem with our comm. is that we don't revere our elders as we should. They've forgotten more things than we know. Not every old person has wisdom, but many do. We've never been their age...they've been ours.
