Over the weekend news leaked Mariah Carey was thisclose to signing a deal to become a judge on American Idol [click here if you missed that].

American Idol creator Simon Fuller made the announcement today,

9:05 she is not making 19 million. 50% of that automatically gets deducted for state and federal tax,so that leaves 9 million. add in manager fees,agent fees, lawyer fees for the contract, publicist,etc,etc,etc she is probably left with around 7 million.
