Benefit in addition to making a generous monetary donation,” among many other charitable activities.

Sometimes some of the hate on here seems like it stems from people who are hateful or dark or light skinned people. I am light skinned and I've been critical of Bey so I can't say that every person is hating on Bey because they hate light skinned people. I don't care for how she takes others ideas and tries to stamp her own name on it when she had little to know involvement in the production of it. I would never say she's ugly or not talented but she should have several seats when it comes to song writing, clothing design, and choreography because she's been caught in a lie on many occasions.
Now on the issue of Harry Belafonte. I have the utmost respect for him and what he's done for the black community. But not everyone is willing to get arrested and nearly killed to protest for a cause. If that's all she's willing to donate then so be it. I don't believe in pressuring people to do things they don't want to do. It would then be fake and we all know how often Bey is accused of being fake. That being said she shouldn't even responded. I look at it as your grand parent that calls you out for something they don't think you're doing right. They may not understand that times have changed.
