It's been a long hard struggle for ratings at Oprah Winfrey's OWN Network but Oprah is finally starting to see light at the end of tunnel...
According to recent reports ratings at OWN are up over 14 percent in it's core demographic of women 25-40. OWN grew more than 20 percent in viewership in the latest period and over 50 percent in the third quarter. Year-to-date OWN is up over 25 percent.

I'm not mad at Oprah! Successful black woman, helping all types of people, and she gives all glory to God. We need more highlights of other black women accomplishing their goals. First billionaire black woman, first black woman with her OWN network, and First black woman to send 500 black men to college, build school/ homes in Africa etc.... If this black woman can open doors, so can other black woman.
Expect more ratchetness to keep those ratings afloat. Okra's probably working out the details with Kris Jenner to have Kim and Kanye get married on OWN.

I think that she is seeing viewership rise is because of all the hoopla about her channel falling apart. Some people (like me) turned in to see what was doing and have found out that she has some pretty good shows. I originally only turned in to watch Sweetie Pies but now I am enjoying other shows as well. Oprah has learned that people want to see more Oprah hence all of the celebrity interviews which she is very good at. She can make people feel at ease with her, hence her getting Kim K. to admit that she has been on birth control and having sex since the age of 14. She also got 50cent to admit that his beef between the two was manufactured by him to give him more relevance. I hear that she will be interviewing Obama soon. Now if can get Beyoncé/Jay to have a real interview with real questions, that will be ratings gold. Pop culture is here to stay so Oprah might as well jump on that train as well.
As annoying as Oprah is sometimes I still respect her. She tries hard to educate the public on topics like abuse and child molestation. Her channel ratings were low because it was a new station. All most all new stations have that low ratings period. I rather see her doing well than some other idiot famous for making porn or beating up others while yelling "a hit dog will holler" at the top of their lungs.
