The singer is after a part in a remake of her favorite film Scarface.
She wants the role of hard-partying Elvira Hancock, originally played by Michelle Pfeiffer, who she has described as having “ridiculous swagger”.
Universal Pictures are developing a new take on the Al Pacino classic, with a Tony Montana-style drug dealer in the 21st Century.
A source said: “Rihanna loves Scarface. Some of her music videos have been based on Michelle’s character, Elvira.
"She knows all the words and even has her walk perfected.”

Al Pacino did genius acting as gangster Tony Montana, nobody in Hollyweird at the moment can fit his shoes. The man is legendary, talent like that don't come anymore.

FYI, just so you know the original Scarface lead actor was Paul Muni. He was superb in the role and the main characters were not Cuban, they were Italian. A new (3rd) remake of the Scarface story does not have to be Cuban either.
Anyway the original movie is in Black and White and it is indeed a classic starring Paul Muni and George Raft. Check it out sometime.
First of all, 'Scarface' is the MOST overrated movie in history. I've seen better film on teeth. It's long, the dialog is horrible, the cinematography is like watching an episode of 'Miami Vice', and it's incredibly campy. If this movie is a classic, it's an Ed Wood caliber classic. I'd rather watch paint dry. The fact that they're doing it AGAIN is like being jabbed repeatedly in the throat with a chicken bone. And, to make matters worse, I just saw Rihanna in 'Battleship'. Talk about a trainwreck! If she can act, I can fuckin' fly...
On the subject of remakes, has anybody caught Clint Eastwood's improve shtick dressing down President Obama in a empty chair,at the Republican Convention and how BIZARRE it came off, will make one wonder if She Who Shall Remain Nameless would want him to direct her in the remake of A Star Is Born (her hoped for oscar starring role)

I love Angel On My Shoulder as well. And Claude Rains is also a superb actor. Casablaca, Notorious etc. Have you ever seen Paul Muni in I Was A Fugitive From A Chain Gang? Breathtaking! Those old classics from the 30s and Film Noir from the 40s and 50s I tell ya, they just don't make 'em like they use to. REAL CLASSICS!

When I saw scarface I don't remember seeing Michelle/ Elvira doing a whole lot of acting or talking...it was just mainly her presence.
Look at that picture above. Rihanna could definitely pull this off and on top of that all she has to do is say a few lines and act bored with life. Not a hard task at all.
This movie is such a cult classic that they will most likely use Hip-Hop influences in this remake so there will definitely be a "black" presence. If not, I don't see it doing too well.
ALSO It does make me wonder who could fill Al Pacino's shoes in this role...I can't think of anyone WHITE OR BLACK but I'm sure Hollywood will come up with somebody...
