Tracee Ellis-Ross stars as Dr. Carla Reed, wife of Dr. Alex Reed [played by Malcolm Jamal Warner] on BET's Reed Between the Lines but insiders say Traci will not be back for a second season...
BET announced in April that Reed Between the Lines would definitely be back, but Tracee has been cast in a pilot that got picked up by NBC.
The new show, Bad Girls, stars Tracee as a high-powered business woman serving time for selling phony mortgages.

I wonder why she left. I liked her character.
Didn't know the show was still on. Watched it once, it was corny to me but at least it has a positive story line but if she doesn't come back, it's dead in the water.

Didn't know the show was still on. The NBC show sounds good...I didn't watch that BET shit, it was boring as hell.

I watched this show once and yeah, it was corny. However, you have to balance out the ratchet ass reality shows with wholesome ones.

Tracy Ellis does have a nice body. I never watched this show. Her new show..I may have a looksee
NBC is notorious for cancelling new shows and then doing the successful ones really dirty after a while and for no apparent reason("Community", anyone?). She'd be lucky to see her show actually get picked up, let alone go the distance past one season.
Anyway, I can't stand her(Acting or the way she looks) and a I hate BET so no loss either way if she falls off TV completely.

What happened to community? I like Joel McHale on The Soup but not enough to watch that show though.
I saw an episode of Reed Between the Lines and I just felt like it needed an extra kick/push/pull/something to take to the next level. It was kind of stale. I felt the same way about Lets Stay Together but the definitely improved over last season.

Amen, amen and amen. I will gladly take corny and wholesome at this point. I'm going to tune into this show to give it a cable rating.

I love Tracy. She really is a good actor and very saavey woman! I wish her much success!
Reed Between The Lines was like a slow death. I liked that it was positive, but it was just so dang boring. I let it stay on though, even when I wasn't watching, to support it. I might check out her new show. I miss good shows with plots.

Worse show ever. All that hype "Reed Between the Lines" it's black family as you've never seen them before! Poor script, bad acting, terrible wardrobes...just awful. She's right to jump ship.
BET banks on people watching these shows all cuz we're desperate to see blacks. The quality of all their shows sucks. Buffoonery by Tyler and corny predictable stories from BET. Let's stay together should be cancelled also.

Toni Childs has been blackballed. You may see her in some indie films, but main stream, no ma'am. IDK who she pissed off, but she's done. Kelsey Grammer produced Girlfriends, so I wonder what went wrong. You know he's very powerful in Hollywood.
Mara Brock-Akil created the show. She's the chick who wrote this Sparkle re-make.
