In an interview with Fox 5's Lisa Evers Chris Lighty's brother Dave Lighty expresses doubts about his brother committing suicide over money issues insisting Chris was 'not that type of person...'
Dave tells Lisa,
"I'm surprised, shocked, and lost. I want the truth to come out. This isn't my brother. My brother was a strong person, is a strong person... Nothing is adding up. I can't get a direct answer from anybody... I understand there's a process to be followed. I can't even get clear answers from people I think I should be getting clear answers from."

I wish people would stop trying to make conspiracy theories of every celebrity death. People are not always who you think when times get rough...
Most of these celebrity death is more then they it is.
It's never that cut and dry when it comes to hollyweird deaths.
I don't believe it either and I don't even know the man. It's really not about trying to make a conspiracy theory, it' just that when you know a person and grew up with them you kinda know better than anyone else that you're loved one wouldn't do anything like that or if they did it was under some type of influence. The wife says there was no fight so where did that story come from and why? Don't always believe what the media tells you...they only tell us what they want us to believe and we blindly follow like blind sheep. I'm not a conspiracy theorist but I don't always believe everything I hear/read either. We have to learn to think for ourselves and remember how to add...2 + 2 don't equal 3.
I don't believe it as well. This guy had 3 kids... something wrong went down. Heavy D supposedly died by falling down the stairs at the age of 44. Chris supposedly killed himself at age of 44. Sorry, the numbers are there. And some posts said this guy Chris was not a nice guy. He may have been nice to his family and friends - everybody is - but to people outside of his circle they say he was a monster. And with 3 kids, it just doesn't add up. He was killed. Whitney was killed. It's crazy.
People suffer from depression and mental instabilities. It's always harder for family to accept because they often blame themselves for not seeing the signs or not being there.
A number of people close to him said that the divorce devastated him and that he had changed a lot. He had to sell Violator to another bigger management company last year and it's on record that he was having financial problems. Some pressures may be too hard to bear - even for a moment.
Money and fame does not make these people any different from anyone else. They still have insecurities, sometimes even more. Maybe he was more concerned about be successful as a family man, building a home for his wife and family - and that was falling apart.
Many people who commit suicide do it in a moment of weakness. A moment that changes things forever.
Chris was arrogant he thought he was everything. Not a nice person nor a decent man. If he was depressed he brought it on himself...he made choices in life that weren't he best...he got caught up and look like it finally caught up with him.

People close to those who commit suicide are often the last to see any sign at all. THey never want to acknowledge a person they loved could be in so much pain they want to remove themself from consciousness. Its a normal reaction. May baby chris RIP.
Heavy D had a blood clot that supposedly migrated from his legs and caused his death. I believe he'd jutst come back from a couple long flights...
the music industry is not nice, so if he was a major player in charge of his own company, he too was not a nice person. it doesn't make sense. you almost have to be an ass I suppose because you're in charge of millions of $$$. being jesus christ like wouldnt quite work because the next man will fuck u and ur bible over.
I know you can't compare people, but dame dash of old (butthole) aint the same the dame dash today. once he lost all his money, he was humble and seemingly nice to be around. IDK what the deal was with chris, but I still refuse to believe that man killed himself knowing his kids were on his watch a few doors down. I just wont believe that.
I look at the music industry like the mob almost. I know nothing about the mob to the extinct to speak on it. But it seems like there's a godfather that all look up to and several captains who get to order hits and an entire pool of people who wants to stay in the family. points in the music industry, points in the mob.
@12:40pm heavy d suffered from an embolism / blood clot that he got as a result of sitting for long periods of time as he traveled internationally. he had not been feeling well and was being treated but they hadn't discovered the clot. no conspiracy, he was overweight which complicated his condition even more.
Sadly Black people still hide behind the stigma of mental illness. It doesn't matter how well you think you know a person or the life they appear to have from the outside looking in. You never really know what's going on inside anyone's head.
HE KILLED HIMSELF in backyard while his family was in the house...people do things that we may not want understand. Im sure Chris had talked to someone about his depression yet he may have made everything seem "OK" when anyone dies that we love its hard to accept. But I don't think his death is a conspiracy in anyway

We need to know more about his life and circumstances before we can call conspiracy. He had several kids, but only one with his wife. So he had several failed relationships. He grew up in a single home and didn't know how to be a husband and father so the dissolution of his marriage could have sent him over the edge. On another site, someone posted a recent rant he did on twitter about haters and violence in the industry and folks tryin' to bring him down. You would be surprised what would take someone over the edge.

African Americans would rather find a conspiracy to a death than accept suicide. You can know your family member and love them, but we are not in that person's mind. People say "he would not commit suicide...he was happy just the day before"...but learning the stages/signs of suicide: when a person has made up his/her mind he/she are at peace with the decision. We should learn more about suicide instead of ignoring it by coming up with conspiracy theories......Praying for the family!

Japan has the highest suicide rate of any modern-day country. The families of those who took their life have difficulty coping with the loss of that loved one. Suicide shouldn't be "accepted" anyway; there's nothing in this world that's that valuable or horrifying to kill yourself over. Secondly, most are questioning that there's more to the story than just depression. Chris lighty is not an average joe with average problems or even "average" depression (if he had it). He's involved in an industry where you take an oath where, according to industry insiders, your name is sometimes signed in blood. Maybe he really was depressed, maybe he didn't want to pay off the last $300k+ he owed to the irs. Maybe there was a contract he no longer wanted to adhere to and blowing his brains out was the easy way out, or maybe a hitman ambushed him, shot him in the head and altered the scene to make it look like a suicide in under three minutes (that is a very real scenario). None of us will never know. What we'll only know is what the media will tells us and even that shouldn't be taken at face value.
What many people of the entertainment industry have revealed is that all of it is an illusion, and nothing about it is as cut and dry as the msm makes it. Or are these people who have experienced it "conspiracy theorists" as well? smh...

Sometimes you never really 'know' a person like you think you do. Most people are good at masking their feelings. It's not uncommon for someone to be out having a good time with family and friends and then turn around and end their life. It's very unfortunate but it does happen and loved ones are left to wonder 'WHY' and 'HOW' and unfortunately, these questions can only be answered by the deceased.

They do drop hints mostly before murders. Its prideictive programming, but mainly arrogance to show how much power they hold and what little you can do to stop sny of it. It's just like the new Lil Wayne video that depicts him inside of a movie theater with 12 skeletons representing the 12 victims of the Aurora Batman massacre. The video was released just before the incident. There are other symbols in that video tying it to the massacre and Batnan movie. The naysayers will tell you it is pure coincidence, but the PTB are banking in that sort of ignorance.

Mariah Carey confirmed what you said concerning how everything is an illusion. She said "the industry is a show and we are all puppets playing scenes". She said something about strings being pulled by people behind the curtain who aren't visible to the general unsuspecting public. I was shocked she said this consisering the fact that usually A listers don't say to much about the inner workings of the machine to which most are unaware of.

I'm not big on conspricies. But these are facts. 2 Suicides (Shakir Stewart & Chris Lighty). Same story (Suicides with their girls around and they took their own life with a weapon). Same Boss.
