Oprah Winfrey is one of several celebrity subs covering for Robin Roberts on Good Morning America while Robin is on medical leave but it's pitting Oprah directly against her bff Gaye King on CBS This Morning.
Gayle famously left Oprah and her struggling OWN network for CBS last year [click here if you missed that].

Gayle may have been the one to recommend Oprah so I don't know about any competition. Oprah has given Gayle numerous opportunities so I wouldn't find it hard to believe if Gayle asked the network if she could stand in for Robin. Not all black women are backstabbers.

I watch OWN. And they support each other either way. It is the media always trying to make people seem like they are at odds.
What I always wanted to know about these two is who is copying who in the speech area because they talk exactly alike. If you didn't see the face you wouldn't know who was talking. I would like to see some old clips of Oprah before she met Gayle to see if she talked that way back then.
Off Topic: Did anyone see the way Gayle was eating fried chicken on that episode of "Welcome to Sweetie Pie's"? Good Lawd. I believe she ate the bones too! LOL.
