Snoop Says His Son is Learning From the Best

When pictures of rapper Snoop Dogg and his son Corde smoking a bong together hit the 'Net [click here if you missed that] it sparked a conversation about Snoop's parenting style.

Snoop says what's the fuss? At least he HAS as relationship with his son...

From The Hollywood Reporter
"What better way to [learn] than from the master?," Snoop tellsThe Hollywood Reporter in a new cover story.
He’s referring specifically to photos posted on Twitter showing son lighting father’s 2-foot-bong. Before Spank pressed send, Snoop didn’t flinch. “My kids can do whatever the hell they want," he explains of his parenting philosophy. "For me to say otherwise would be hypocritical. A lot of motherf--ers don't have a relationship with their kids, and that's when they get on drugs and have suicidal thoughts and drive drunk. Me and my son is mellow. I'm his father, so I wanna show him the proper way because he looks up to me.”

Drug Addiction Parents....

Alcoholism and other drug addictions can be passed down from a parent to a child. Children who grow up with drug addicted parents may experience a learned behavior that, in turn, causes them to start using drugs. This unhealthy cycle can continue until someone intervenes or the family receives professional treatment.

I smoked with Snoop once and that fool had the best herb I ever had. All I could say when he left was can I keep this roach. He smiled and said "hell no fool you got to get your own."

his son looks depressed. pls don't use the Whitney model of parenting Snoop. Get to the bottom of the real issue.

the only thing he said that made sense was "he would be a hypocrite if he told his kids dont do drugs" other than the every fool who says or said he got the best dope is a dope..y does he have the best dope...cause it gets u the highest, so the more strung out you are the better the drugs r...the kracker knows how to destroy u niggas

So teaching your kids to be a 40 year old burn out that runs around cheating on his wife is okay? I think not!

The fact that he has smoked weed so long has a lot to do with the fact that he finds this type of behavior appropriate. It's a proven fact that when you do drugs (and yes, marijuana IS included as a controlled substance contrary to popular belief), you stay developmentally the age you were when you started! He still thinks like a teenaged boy because developmentally he is one!

You get no props for being a bad parent! I'm tired of men believing that being a bad father is better than being no father at all because it simply isn't true! There is an appropriate parent/child relationship and then there is plain inappropriate.

I'm not saying he should take issue with his son smoking weed if that is ALL he is smoking but I will NOT be partying with my sons! I do what I do with my husband and my age appropriate peer group and my kids will stick to what they do with their peers. They can talk to me about ANYTHING but I will not be "hanging out" with my kids in any shape, form or fashion at any age ever!

Sidenote: I just realized that NONE of Snoops kids look remotely like him, especially that little girl that looks like Nate Dogg hmmm....

Ummmmmmm you had me until you went way left with that side note lmfao!

I don't agree with this, merely because his son was well on his to becoming a somebody and doing something positive with his life. How can Snoop applaud his son dropping out of college and wanting to smoke weed and get high all day? Breaks my heart to see the pic of him dressed up in the grey sweater and trousers at some awards show, to this tatted up, smoked out mess. If anything I always thought Cordel would become a rapper and smoke weed etc. Spanky appeared to be level headed and smart on Snoops show. He didn't appear to be too impressed by the flossing and rapping lifestyle like Cordell did.

SN; Snoops sons look like him. Cori looks just like her mother.

Smh! Snoop is a drug addict. Period. He made the choice a long time ago that he would rather be a bad example and justify it rather than clean up his act and be a role model for his children. this is beyond sad! The state should intervene because I believe he has a daughter who is still a minor.

Weed gonna rob you of your ambition boy

i figure he was saying instead of his son going off to college and sneaking around and smoking weed, why not smoke with your daddy thats known for weed smoking, its only right they puff a lil bit together. But i would've told him do what you want i aint taking care of no pothead that has no ambition to get up do nothing with his self but smoke weed, thats where i say snoop is wrong for disabling his boy to get up make something out of himsel. He will see in the long run when he has a 25 year old sitting on his couch and eating up all his munchie and clipping him for his weed lol

So much for the belief that the white man is the enemy when you have a 40 year old father teaching his son to smoke weed. What's next, bank robbery, gang-bangin and pimpin?

Anonymous said...

Anon@953; I understand your thinking, but let's be real. My mother told me that if I ever chose to smoke when I got older to buy my own cigarettes so that I knew what I was getting. She didn't sit me down at ANY age and SHOW me how to smoke (in case I was going to do it when I got older). As a parent there are just lines that shouldn't be crossed. You wouldn't let your daughter watch you have sex so she could learn about it would you?

Anonymous said...

Let's see if we can extend this logic, what if it were your daughter and you wanted to go "there" and show her certain "things", what are we expected to say. You love her, and in some circles now everything goes and everything is okay. Would exposing your daughter(s) to certain "things" be okay.

Nothing good will come of this. Is this all they do. Does this child have a job. Gasp- a job. Daddy may be rich, but money can run out if you are not careful. When you're sitting around getting high a lot, business is probably not the first thing on your mind.

I guess Mama Snoop has no clout in this. Her son will regret this. When children view their parents as pot buddies, there cannot be much respect there. Will they share their women. Wonder how this boy has seen of "that" behavior.

Somethings are just not cute-and this is one of them. We are now calling evil good at every turn.

Do any of his children have future plans other than living off of Snoops money? Are these children educated or in the process of attaining their education?

Or, are they young adult burn-outs who sit around the house all day smoking and munching out?

Snoop is setting a very bad example. No one should do drugs with their children. Ditto for heavy drinking. If they are going to develope habits, let them do that mess outside the home like a "normal" kid. Ditto for parents who let their children's boyfriend or gorlfriend spend the night. Why permit that shit! Your child is NOT your friend.

@9:58 you got a point.

you are right 8:42. this wh we have so many deadbeat parents.. they are drug addicts who started very young so they never grew up mentally..so what he has money.. if snoop had to get a REAL job he'd be fired quickly for being no call or a no show.. sounds like a friend who used to drink alot and not go to work only when he felt like it.. taking weeks off from work to drink..then not getting a pay check when friday came.. you never encourage any kind of addiction.. he can say don't do drugs to his children.. remember the old saying " if your friends jumped off a bridge would you do it too???? same thing..

I would rather my kids smoke with someone else than me. It would seem awkward....it's part of being a kid, I remember drinking around friends and that is where the hell it should of stayed.

Anonymous said...

That crack-room picture is disturbing. Couldn't they have been smoking in Snoop's mansion or something? Why are they in that dirty crack room?

I got nothing-but why does his son look 40?

Yes, you can totally tell that this yute is full of life, goals, and ambition. With his proud pappa on the side excited about what his off-spring is going to bestow on to the world.

:-|

No but for real...it's two negros sitting in a dirty basement getting high while time and opportunities burn away. Nothing to see here folks, just typical negro bullshit.

I wonder would he have this same point of view if it was his daughter dropping out of college to smoke weed and become a rapper.

Anonymous said...

Snoop is too strung out to even realize the harm he's doing to his son.

Anonymous said...

What will Snoop say if one day Cordell decides he wants to put some crack in that pipe just to see if he can get even higher. He's treading on a slippery slope with his dad's assistance. He really should send this kid to rehab, and get him enrolled in a college somewhere. And for God's sake stop getting high with him. Doesn't he have enough flunkies and hangers on to get high with. Where's does his mom stand on all of this stupidity.

Anonymous said...

@:-| It's not just typical Negro bullship, you have plenty of white people doing the same thing. Had a couple of examples on the Dr. Phil show recently. Females getting high with their daughters.

Anonymous said...

The only thing that this Jack ASS said say that makes any sense is that he would be a hypocrite to tell his kids anything, might I say Snoop you are right. But if your daughter goes to a video shoot and lets all of your homeboys get in that ASS, don't be a hypocrite cause it ain't no fun if the homeys can't have none!

I'm curious as to what his son is doing. I don't smoke weed and don't support the use of it for every person. I think young people who aren't in college or actively working it can be a bad idea to smoke it regularly. Snoop is probably setting his son up for failure.

Anonymous said...

AS LEAST SNOOP WONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT SOME IDIOT PUTTING COKE OR X ON HIS SON'S BLUNT SINCE THEY SMOKING TOGETHER. IT SOUNDS TWISTED BUT, I GET HIS POINT!!!

Anonymous said...

crash and burn...i could understand promoting weed if your son is doing big things and successful, but snoop's son looks like a bum. Hardly a convincing proponent for weed smokers.

Anonymous said...

@8:42 sidenote. I totally cosign!!!!! None of Snoop's kids look like him!! Looks like someone was doing some serious "dippin"

Anonymous said...

shame. his son used to be an adorable kid and handsome young man. is he even out of his teen years yet? because he's already looking dirty and smoked out. all that sports and academic talent down the drain. oh, well... at least his daddy has money so he won't end up like all the other lazy, has-been waste of talents in the hood doing nothing but looking for their next dimebag all day.

This negro will never admit that what he's doing is stupid and wrong because it makes him look like an abject failure as a father and as a man.

What father encourages his son to be "less than."
If Snoop hadn't been blessed by Dr. Dre with a chance to succeed, you know he would be standing on some corner in Long Beach slingin. He managed to be a winner in the record industry but he has a "loser" philosophy on life and how to raise motivated children. This kid does look like a bum and that ain't pretty, but it is pretty pathetic. His wife Chante used to act so high and mighty on their reality show, where's that bish now when it counts. Probably in the bedroom gettin high.
