At the star-studded opening of Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club in the billion-dollar Barclays Center, the “We Found Love Singer” revealed her loyalties are now in Brooklyn.
“I have to support the Nets, they’re part of my clique!” she told Confidenti@l Thursday night.
Rihanna, who hours earlier flew in from London, looked stunning, as always, in a pajama-style, currency-inspired Acne Studios ensemble.
As “Birthday Cake,” her duet with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, played in the background, she revealed she’d be appearing on stage with Jay during his sold-out run — and that there’s no place she rather be.
“When [Jay-Z] calls, I go,” Rihanna told us.

Rapper Jay-Z is being sued for $5bn by a man seeking slavery reparations.
The music mogul and developer Bruce Ratner have been accused of "working in concert" with Barclays Bank and "profit[ing] from the African slave trade" by activist Clive Campbell, The Guardian has reported.
Ratner is in charge of Brooklyn's $4bn Atlantic Yards project which will see the construction of 6,000 new apartments along with a basketball arena for the New Jersey Nets.
As part-owner of the Nets and a staunch suporter of the Atlantis project, Jay-Z has found himself drawn into an argument over slavery after Barclays brought the naming rights to the basketball arena for $400m.
The bank faces long-standing accusations that it had links to the 18th century slave trade with some suggesting that it co-operated with South African apartheid, although Barclays deny the claims.
Campbell accuses them of being involved in “a conspiracy dating back hundreds of years and [continuing] to oppress black people, enslave them, [and] unlawfully deport them to all corners of the Earth.”

The reputation of Barclays bank took an enormous blow during the Libor rate-fixing scandal, a YouGov poll reveals, plunging its standing to below the depths endured by oil company BP during the 2010 Gulf of Mexico blowout when 11 rig workers were killed.
This year has been an annus horribilis for Britain's banks, with NatWest/Royal Bank of Scotland suffering a serious computer glitch, HSBC fined for money laundering in Mexico, and a Lloyds employee admitting major fraud. But it was the reputation of Barclays – after it was fined for fixing Libor interest rates – that declined most sharply.
The reputational score of Barclays declined from +5 to -40 on YouGov's "favourability brand index", which asks a representative sample of the public how proud or embarrassed they would be to work for an organisation.
The fall of 45 percentage points is more than twice as large as the equivalent falls for NatWest (from +6 to -20) and its bailed-out parent, RBS (from -12 to -29) just after the crisis in their computer systems had left customers unable to access accounts.

When I was a young girl in London in the 80's, I remember marching with my parents and people in the streets of London on boycotting Barclays bank and their direct connection to apartheid in South Africa. When I heard that Jay was developing the concept of the Net Stadium around the condo's he owns around the stadium, driving out the low-moderate income community that lived around the stadium, I knew I was done with him. He is the epitome of a "sell out". He had many banks to do business with....but these historically oppressive banksters....SMDH!
