It is quite possible that XXL magazine, which has been around for about 15 years, is on the verge of going out of business.
From what I understand, I am hearing the PARENT company will kill off the Hip-Hop staple before we enter 2013. I’ve been hearing this for a few months, but didn’t want to say anything out of respect, but now the sources (no pun intended) are so powerful, I’ve got to exercise my rumor duty and let you know.

@12:15 SO RIGHT! I haven't subscribed or bought a mag since the early 2000's and those were hair magazines lol. If its time to hang it up its just time...
I am not surprised. Magazines are boring because a lot the stars in them are boring. Interesting stars are hard to come by. Plus you can read information many of these magazines publish online for free. I've read that even Vogue magazine is struggling with sales.
Paper Magazines & Newspapers are DEAD Media. The smart ones exited the field a long time ago and reinvented themselves. XXL should have done something web based years ago…

XXL is already web based....moron. After Elliot left they switched but kept hard copies cuz some people lag behind. Now they are just getting rid of the paper version because it is only a small part of their current sites income stream.

Newsstand will be empty soon, hip hop weekly was dumb to launch newsstand instead of online but they burned so many bridges with the source mag, they destroyed themselves, the same way Jacky jasper will destroy himself. XXL and Source fell off when hip hop died...and then when gossip blogs, twitter, fb and myspace took over, hell..you could READ fuckery from the stars themselves; not quotes from a mag! So ya know...even though they published a few of my "letters to the editor" many, many, many times....it's not all that surprising nor sad to see them go.

I will NEVER forget when they posted a vid of some nigga GRINDING ON A BABY. Seriously, in a SEXUAL MANNER. The SAD THING IS THAT THE MAMMY was in the NEXT ROOM and was WELL AWARE of what was going on. He was in the room with HIS FRIENDS and they took it as a joke. He even laid the baby ON THE FLOOR AND GRINDED IT.
There were so many negative comments that WSHH took it down and I believe someone called the police about getting that vid investigated.

Yep, wshh makes a fortune, 50 got a piece of that. If u got a big audience or a niche audience, u getting dough. Funny thang, niche audiences ain't got to be nowhere near as big as a big audience site like ybf and they can make 50% or 75% of what ybf makes because they're niche.
