Two days ago Vanity Fair printed scathing excerpts from a new book called 'Untouchable' claiming Janet Jackson held up her brother's funeral demanding Michael Jackson's estate reimburse her the $40,000 she paid for the funeral deposit.
Janet calls the claims a flat out lie...
A letter to Vanity Fair from Janet's attorney demands a retraction.
The article states that, according to Untouchable, Ms. Jackson put down a $40,000 deposit to secure a burial plot for Michael Jackson but refused to let the funeral take place until the money was repaid. This is untrue. Ms. Jackson never delayed the funeral in any way. In fact, she paid for the funeral and was reimbursed for some of those expenses by Michael Jackson’s estate in the year after the services took place. In addition, there were other private costs associated with Michael Jackson’s passing that Ms. Jackson incurred and for which she has never sought reimbursement. To falsely accuse Ms. Jackson of holding up her brother’s funeral over money is outrageous. This story is particularly hurtful and distressing because of Ms. Jackson’s strong desire to serve his brother, whom she loved dearly, and her wish to stand with and support her family.
I demand that Vanity Fair retract its statement that Ms. Jackson “refused” to let Michael Jackson’s funeral take place until the money she put down as a deposit on his burial plot was repaid.Janet wasn't the only Jackson skewered in the book, there's also claims that Mother Katherine and sister LaToya descended on Michael's house in the days following his death and ransacked it looking for money.

Janet Jackson indeed paid for her brother Michael’s “second” funeral in August 2009. According to papers just filed in the Los Angeles probate court by Michael Jackson’s executors, Janet wrote a check for just under $50,000 so that the Jacksons could stage Michael’s internment after the infamous Staples Center show earlier in the summer.
The funeral did indeed cost just over $1 million in the end, for which the estate wrote checks to Forest Lawn Cemetery. The funeral incurred a lot of other expenses, too, including $35,000 for Michael’s “funeral costume” and $21,455 for catering.
The estate’s records also show specific payments to Katherine Jackson, listed under different headings for “allowance.” For example, Mrs. Jackson receives $50,000 a month for her own allowance, plus all expenses reimbursed without question. This is all separate from mortgage payments on her home, payroll for her staff, and a brand new 2010 Escalade that cost approximately $83,000.
Line by line, the report–part of a petition to the court–shows that the execugors and lawyers–who themselves have made millions in fees–have carefully attempted to clean up an estate that was in total disarray when Michael Jackson died.

Michael didn't lie about vitiligo. His condition was confirmed by the medical examiner at his autopsy. They had microscopic evidence of the disease. And it's spelled V-I-T-I-L-I-G-O.
There was never any evidence Michael molested anyone. Many many people have come forward to say there was NEVER any wrong doing and the families that made the accusations were admitted grifters. They have them on TAPE saying they were going to fleece Michael and the second family had done it before (scammed for money). The FBI investigated Michael for 17 years and found absolutely NOTHING. He's innocent.
Michael married LMP because he loved her and she loved him. She continued to follow him around the world for years after their divorce because he was just.that.good. ;)

I don't believe Janet is as innocent as she tries to project but she isn't a scumbag either. I believe she loves her family and got didnt use the wisest judgement cosigning with Randy. I used to be a blind fan of JJ for years and tho I still like her I am not as easily convinced about her niceness as I once was.
Watching her over the years she seems to be a decent person but JJ has not invested an ANYTHING as much as she has vested in JANET JACKSON. I am not saying she isn't capable of love and loyalty genuinely I just feel like *TO ME* the only thing she is fully and deeply committed to is her career and being "Janet Jackson"
Its not completely her fault early in her life work was drilled in her. Her family *tho loving* their relationships were strained because of their careers. So in her defense her career has been a constant in her life and she has achieved so much it would be a challenge for anyone to have an in depth perception of reality.
Now that her career has taken a huge shift. *not being signed* *no strong financial backing for her creativity* (its def NOT over for JJ) but I do believe things at first were uncomfortable for her. (dont be deceived her up close and personal tour *tho successful and clever* was becuz the big boyz weren't convinced she could sale in the big venues she once did)
I said all that to make this point. Janet has a tendency to totally disrobe and whoever she is closest to or "involved with" she tend to allow whatever their into she adopts it for herself also. There is no crime in that but its not the healthiest thing when it comes to being able to stand firm outside her image.
Latoya is the best example of that, she struggled the most and had to learn the hard way. But if Latoya had achieved some of the commercial success as Janet had it would have been easier for her camouflage it. I think JJ is a little stronger (and smarter) than Toya I do think are more similar than ppl think.
I hope she can find a way to be creative (her deal with lionsgate and her documentary is great start) and it works out for her and as she enter her fifties reconnect with her family. Allowing her friends, family and herself *not Janet Jackson so much* just count. I dont know if PPJ will trust her fully again * I honestly think they were fond of her but not really bonded to her*
