I can't wait!

If you never want to see Madea again. GO SUPPORT THIS MOVIE!!!

I'm sorry, I just can't see it for Tyler in this role. He's not a good actor to me. A for effort though.

So parts aren't for everyone

He's not convincing. I would believe it if it was Michael Ealy, Idris Elba, or anyone else.

I just don't buy Tyler Perry in this role. He was good in Star Trek, though. Maybe it's because he only had a couple of lines, lol.

Hey, we all have to start someplace and for some it comes more naturally than it does for others. I mean for Will Smith to go from 'Parents Just Don't Understand' to 'Men in Black', he had some naysayers as well that only saw him as 'just' a rapper. Tyler is only known for Madea because that is the major character that he has played although he has played Brian (?) in a number of Madea movies. Give the man a chance to grow.

Looks like the that chunky guy from the wire in this. Plus he just exudes Madea in every role that he is in. Alex Cross dresser at your service.
Not a good look.

@ 12:12 I agree it was really hard for tom hanks to shake it too. I think the word for it is typecast.

For someone who has produced, directed, and written several movies you would think they would know how to act or be convincing. You would think. He's just not a good actor, outside of Madea.

Won’t work and doesn’t work. The level of coonery this man has released is just too vast.
NO MATTER what He does the stigma of Madea will always be attached.
He’s also a dainty fag so that doesn’t help.

BEYONCE WILL PERFORM AT THE 2013 SUPERBOWL HALFTIME SHOW!

Not familiar with the character hes portraying but maybe if he masculinized himself hed shake off the Madea vibe. Maybe he should try losing weight and bulking up with muscle..

Anonymous said...

What kills me is that they passed up Idris Elba for this role.

Who wrote this?
It's one thing to BAD ACT in your own movies, but to f*ck up somebody else sh*t is just narcissistic, example beyonce. So many wanna-be stars know they dead wrong for using their friendship, business and sex connections to get some of these movie parts that a high school theater student would do a much better job at for less the money.
Tyler Perry is going to get a free ride in the movies like Nick Cannon got because they pull in the non-whites, remember when Nick Cannon was getting back to back lead roles when he shouldn't have....Hollywood stay using blacks even when it's embarrassing.

Anonymous said...

Do your thing Tyler. He has always rocked a suit well IMO.

Anonymous said...

Well, Wesley Snipes blue black ass is in jail so they got Tyler "I wanna suck the sperm out yo dick" Perry...And yes that was Cicely Tyson.

Anonymous said...

Oh and you smelly pussy ass women talking about Idris, please shut the FUCKKKK Up...He don't want you and YOU will never know him.

Anonymous said...

LMAO at TP @ 1:01. Seriously, this role should have gone to a REAL actor; either Idris Elba or Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Hey fattie fat fat at 1:01,

Isn't it lunchtime? Shouldn't you be out adding more calories to your diet since we all know you big fat ass don't work out. You rather have a fly weave than fit a size 10. You probably have so many rolls in the back of your neck, people constantly wonder why you're wearing hot dogs. Your fingers probably get more exercise in a five-minute rebuttal than you do the entire year. Do you sing too? You can be on that R&B Diva show with the other fat-ass broads.

Oh nevermind, you sound like a fag. Go suck a dick and get off the keyboard for a bit. Better to have a dick in your mouth than the five cheeseburgers you eat in one setting.

Now come back and tell me how 'thin' you are and what 'size you really are and see me not giving you a single fuck. You'll reply to this shit and my ass will be outside enjoying life, LOL'ing at your one French Fry away from a Rosie O'Donnell ass.

@1:15 it is a fag. Got issues with pussy because it wants one. It doesn't want to see women with men. It wants all men to desire it. Yuck.

Um...NO! I can't do this!!! I really like the Alex Cross books and TP is just the opposite of everything Alex Cross except for his size/height! Plus he's a terrible actor. Now when they cast Morgan Freeman for the same role, he was way way way too old but i thought at least he's a good actor and he was in every other release at the time. Now TP comes along with his huge black following and it makes me think that James Patterson just thinks all black people look alike and 1 black actor is the same as another. I'm not gonna let this movie ruin my books. I'll pass.

Yeah, what's up with TP and all of the hair enhancements whenever he plays a role now? It's like he has to take acting lessons and study what it's like to be an actual, straight male. TP needs to cut the shit and just stick to what he knows which is directing loud, queenly dramas with very gay club soundtracks, for an audience of country ass n-words and f-words who were raised by Big Mama!

oh, you are sooo wrong for that, and i am sooo wrong for laughing!!!

p.s. the studio was asking for that one-liner when they chose that name.

Wow, must be a Willie Lynch convention in town. What a bunch of pathetic hood rats spewing their poison today. Before you all start tearing someone down, use that energy to pick yourselves up. Tyler Perry has worked very hard in a racist industry and has made a name for himself and a lot of money. What have you done besides nitpick every black person that comes across the website? This man has created roles for many of our black actors to work, yet the only thing you can do is try to downgrade him. Obviously, your future has no light and you need to share your misery. Well continue to share while people like TP, will keep on advancing to higher plateaus.

It's strange....I cant watch him play a man. I can't take it. It feels and looks weird. It's creepy. It's unnatural. It's just WRONG!!!!!

who ever compared tyler's acting to that of tom hanks, you are tripping. Hanks killed it in Philadelphia, Forrest Gump, Saving Ryan, and Castaway just to name a few.

That is just sacrilege and awful!

Once the rights are sold to hollyweird the writer has no say on who plays a role. Now sometimes writers will demand that right especially if the book is about them but that has to be a part of the deal/contract.

To add to my comment t 6:02:

This is the reason many writers are not happy about the movie that was made about something they wrote.

as usual, the studios are less concerned with selecting the 'logical' choice for the lead.

The steady box office numbers show that TP continues to be that NAME amongst urban hOllywood. So they figure that they will at least profit their projected return on the budget, which was reported to be around 40M but probably more like 20M. You know for safe keeping Hollywood always over leverages the actually spending cost to their benefit.

It embarasing to me as black people we would insult Mr. Tyler Perry. He is a great man and have help millios of African americans to be SOMEBODY. Laugh at Madea but at least he is not selling weed on the block as is so many black boys in america today. God bless you Mr. Perry. I will be first at the cinema to see you Mr. Alex Cross!!!

Anonymous said...

I think Tyler does a great job in this movie. I definitely plan to see it this weekend.

Bee Gee said...

No son. Just because you have the power to cast yourself as an action hero crime fighter doesn't mean you should do it. I've seen several trailers for this movie and Tyler simply isn't Alex Cross. The trailers almost look like a spoof because he can't even begin to handle that character or the magnitude of carrying a film not dipped in a vat full of Madea fuckery. And that's putting this shit nicely..

Anonymous said...

I am soooo ANGRY! Mr. Perry is a great guy. He is not having sex with men for monies as are so many gay black men in the USA. He is somebody!!! If not for Mr. Perry so many black people would be nothing!!! This is a disgrace.

These are the people with dead-end jobs (if they work) and sporting the benefits cards at the local supermkts. People that work and know the struggle and difficulties in getting ahead can appreciate other people's success. Trying to have strong conviction when you have not earned the right. Pathetic losers!

Sorry----- but all I see is Medea!!!!!! He created this stigma on himself. I was ready for Uncle Joe to come out of the corner too. Nice attempt. But this role should be given to Denzel Washington or Samuel Jackson!

As Blaine and Antoine would say in unison, "hated it." (snap)

Idris should have gotten this role. Tsk.

I actually like him in this role, I don't know why but I would love to see him do a black Perry Mason type role, he does pull off a suit and that lawyer vibe well in his other movies, I can separate the madea persona from this movie, I agree with the poster that said he should have bulked up a bit for this movie, TP is a tall brotha but hitting the gym would not kill him. he does okay in this role, didn't kill it like Idris would have, but I'm willing to see him mature as an actor in serious roles. TP plays the role of a suited up serious lawyer very well, so folks just have to get past the madea persona to see him in a different light. I have been waiting to see him in a role like this, I think what folks are seeing is him lacking in the type of intensity to pull off a role like this. like Will Smiths character in I Robot or Jamie Fox in Law Abiding Citizen, TP needs to work with a acting coach to pull out that other aggressive, intensity required for these type roles, but he did pretty well his first go round, you go boy!!

This shit is bad to the bone and I mean that in the worst way possible. All I see is that horrible stenciled in hair job they gave him. It's supposed to be a drama, but it's damn hilarious. I just keep staring at his head and that acting...there are no words. The critics are going to tear this film apart. Tyler needs to stick with what he knows. It's like Jim Carrey. He had high hopes for that movie, number 23. It was supposed to be a thriller/drama/horror flick, but all the audience did was laugh hysterically. Jim had a mini break down from it and you haven't seen much of him since. Some people have to stay in their lane.

Wow 9:01. Excellent info!

@12:17 PM

Tom Hanks is a better actor and he had nothing to over come because he is that good of an actor!! Tyler is not Tom Hanks and will never be Tom Hanks!!!

Anonymous said...

I thought Jim was good in Number 23..he can very well cross over to serious/suspense films. Tyler can not. This trailer is horrible..

No hate or shade from me. Good luck with this project!
