Earlier this month former Cash Money artist Juvenile spilled the tea about how badly Lil Wayne was being ripped off by Cash Money and Weezy's abject fear of leaving the label [click here if you missed that].
Well it looks like Wayne might have worked up some courage...
In a recent interview Lil Wayne told Sway that The Carter V will be his last album.
Weezy also backtracked on earlier claims that Kanye West was producing his next album, 'I Am Not a Human Being II [click here if you missed that], telling Sway,
“[Kanye] didn’t do any music on this album, but ‘Ye is actually packaging my album. It was his idea. I was like, ‘OK, whatever.’"
“He wanted that. He was like, ‘I wanna package Wayne’s album.’”
“I’ma let ‘Ye do what he do. As long as it ain’t nothin’ out the box crazy. ‘Ye is ‘Ye, he’s a genius.”

Everybody always claiming 'such and such is my last album' and it never really is. Is this some kind of marketing scheme to sell more records?

You connected those dots quite well. I also believe there is no way in hell Baby is going to allow Wayne to leave. He's been financing Baby's entire lifestyle for years - he is the proverbial cash cow. It's not going to happen.
On another note, it's good to see that Wayne is trying to slow down a bit. I guess those two medical scares got to him and he's realizing how short life can be.
Trust Baby will still be getting checks if Wayne manages to leave somehow. He will get a monthly stipend, consultant's fee, something. Wayne will continue to take care of him.
Haven't we heard this "last album" talk before. NEXT.
