Rihanna Upset Over Bad Press

Rihanna apologized to the 150 journalists, bloggers and fans held captive on her press trip from hell [click here if you missed that], but insiders say she's upset about the deluge of negative publicity she's receiving...

From Sandra Rose
My Def Jam spy tells me that Rihanna is “upset” at the negative coverage given to her tour by the “ungrateful” journalists and bloggers who tagged along at considerable expense to Def Jam.
“They won’t be invited along next time,” said the source in an email to Sandrarose.com. The spy said Rihanna and her handlers are considering inviting only her appreciative fans if they ever decide to organize a similar promotion.

they WERE her appreciative fans - before they took that trip.

Who complains about FREE shit? Where they do that at?

@ 1:50pm- Media and press does not equal fans! She did have SOME fans there but it was mostly media. And they are the ones complaining- I haven't heard any complaints from her Navy...

HEFFA then go away somewhere...can't stand your slut tail anyway. Non singing trick!

@1:53 media and fans not mutually exclusive groups.

some are probably fans of her music, have her on their ipods. they are obviously young, energetic, fun-loving people, after all. i'm sure the plane was not full of journalists who do not care for her music, come on now. and her navy wouldn't complain under any circumstances, good or bad.

free or not, nobody likes to be taken for a ride.

"Tagged along at considerable expense to Def Jam"

Err correction tagged along at considerable expense to Rihanna. The cost of flight fares, accommodation etc etc will eventually be deducted from her earnings.

Rihanna being upset over bad press makes no sense. When has she ever gotten good press ?

for such a so-call "rockstar", "bad bish" who claims to not give a fuck, she sure gets mad whenever something that's not 100% asskissing is said about her! she "doesn't care" yet cares enough to comment on or get angry at negative press.

@2:08pm I agree no one likes to be taken for a RIDE, but did they really have her best interest at heart when they started bad mouthing the FREE RIDE they so graciously accepted? I don't think so. These people who smiled and said "Yes" to the trip are now the ones saying that the plane had "3rd world conditions". Come on now? Really? Sorry but I do not agree that they have any room to complain! And Ri is right- next time she should take along well deserving fans- you know the ones who REALLY like her and don't pretend just to find a story #endrant

LMAO at these journalists and so called fans. You get what you pay for and in this case yall ain't pay for shit so what you mad for?

@2:39 journalists don't have a person's best interest at heart. they cannot show bias. they are bound to just report things as they see them.

i'll agree with you that they have definitely sensationalized their experience with phrases such as "third-world conditions."

however, if they could not get food or water or have access to the bathroom, then they had a right to complain, because those are basics of human necessity!

from what i've read, i think it was an unpleasant experience, and the planners are to blame. rihanna is obviously not involved with any of that, so it's not her fault about the conditions.

Wow, she is thick in the middle in that photo! Is this an UNtouched photo? I've never seen her in person.

@3:19 I don't think her middle is thick, but it does look like she may have put on a pound or two, not that it matters because she was so small before.

but anyway, i agree the trip was free so i could see complaining seeming out of the way, but as one poster said, there was no food and no showers. just because they were journalist and not stans does not mean they shouldn't have decent conditions on the flight. hell, her fans should be treated well, why not the journalists?

also, despite being a free trip, according to reports, they had no time to sightsee or anything, they landed, went to her concerts and got right back on the plane. what the hell is the point of a free trip around the world if the only thing you see is the inside of a cabin?

Girl take your umbrella having ass somewhere!!! You are lucky that anyone is interested in your non singing ass at all.

Let me preface this by saying I am NO Riri stan. I do, however, appreciate her (stylist's) eye for fashion and her (team's) ability to pick out hit songs.

@3:39 I definitely understand what you're saying, but this wasn't a vacation or sightseeing trip- it was a promotional tour! 7 countries, 7 concerts in 7 days?! There's no free time with that type of schedule! Those people were ONLY there to travel with and see Rihanna.

Was her team supposed to set up sightseeing tours each day in 7 different countries for 150 people, while managing a non-stop international tour? Do you know how many people would have gotten left behind at each tour stop?

The journalists were there to work; the fans were there to enjoy the production behind the scenes. That's it.

RiRi has a party girl image but when it's time to work and trot the globe for that paper- she does it. They expected the party girl to sit and chill with them but she had to work (and probably spend her downtime with her actual friends and team).

Now the complaints about lacking basic necessities and press not having ANY interview time-- I get that and her team should have done a better job. As for sightseeing, that's what you do when you're traveling for leisure- not business.

The reality is a week before, the very same journalists had Rihanna on a pedestal. Now, every journal, article, blog (even some that go up her butt read her a new one) has something negative to say about her. This is what happens when an artist and their label are overly dependent on publicity, constant press to stay on top. The same journalists who called you the best pop star will turn on you in an instant. This was more the fault of her PR team coming up with this idea in the first place.

She should be upset over her bad reviews for her new album. That album is a mess and is all over the place. She needs to change the title from unapologetic to untalented because her new album is garbage. She needs to stop releasing albums every 5 seconds and go sit her ass down somewhere because the public is getting sick of her.

I think whoever planned the trip is mainly at fault I also read some of the accounts (they made me laugh but I wasn't the one going through it). I understand people confusion on their complaining but not only did they not have access to bathroom, water, etc many media missed out on their main reason for being there...,some access to Rihanna. Many didn't think she was on the plane because of the radio silence ( and fans did complain about the same thing to Def Jam surrogates on the plane according to things I read)

The journalists said they understood they weren't going to get a pow wow session. Many were expected to come back to work with firsthand observations, quotes....something. They ended up with virtually none. So it made it difficult to complete work assignments. That wrote about what they saw, each other and her shows which they said was the same every night. Some complained about the waiting ( someone wrote about how mad they were that they were waiting for 3hours to fly out and then the next day saw that she was shopping at La Perla around the time they were waiting).

I understand her irritation and I definitely understand the medias. If her people knew she was going to be too busy to do both, they shouldn't have come up with this idea which someone else said they were told was her idea. If I was her though I'd only be concerned about reviews of the show, they weren't very positive. Oh well.

@5:51 PM

Co-sign. When the negative press starts it's impossible to stop it. Just ask Lady Gaga.

When you start to get bad press...NOTE~ this is a sign that your career will never be as good anymore...15 minutes are up honey! lol

Anonymous said...

When the press starts to dis you...there is no coming back...Gaga's career is basically over..Niki Minage is next...I'm so glad they are ending this love affair with Rihanna...seeing her naked body is boring now...Her video for diamonds was so boring, cause she didn't show crotch shots..she gave us only face...she doesn't realize she is famous for her body and she happens to have good song writers...

Anonymous said...

Rihanna can save her career just wear a skimpy outfit...or go to the beach somewhere and show ass and crotch ...to the paparazzi

IF CB DIDNT BEAT THE BRAKES OFF THIS NO TALENT CUNT WE WOULD HAVE NEVER HEARD OF HER AND SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN ON VH1 2 HIT WONDERS. HER 15 MINUTES WERE UP LOG AGO. NOW THAT THE PRESS/MEDIA AGREES WITH THE REST OF OF US CAN SHE GO HAVE A SEAT NEXT TO BEY HOLDING THE PILLOW!!!
