"I'm just gonna go ahead and announce my retirement from standup, I'm kinda done. I've discussed it with my kids, I wasn't really gonna do in the middle of a Seattle street, I was going to go to Los Angeles and do it in the offices of ICM or LiveNation."

@12:24 I agree. I saw the video for his recent show in Oakland. He did not tell jokes but every blog titled it as a "breakdown." Katt did not have a breakdown nor did he tell jokes. Too Short and Suge Knight were there, in the video Katt said "I'm rollin with the nigga that killed Tupac." He stood there and was telling the truth about the industry and what is being done to him as people were leaving. As soon as the police felt enough people had gone, they rushed in and attacked him on stage.
People are not paying attention, this is the route they put celebrities through, i.e, crazy, drug addicted and play it in the media when one does not want to comply. He used to tell jokes about what was going on behind the scenes, gay parties in mansions, orgies, etc. He has been arrested countless times and never got a court date. He knows how this is going to play out in the end.

Part of me wants to say that's sad because he's talented and I was a huge Katt stan but being in the business is not what's best for everyone. I think that if Whitney and Michael were able to spend more time working on themselves and trying to live a normal life they would both be here. The pressure to perform and keep up appearances was too much for both of them.

Who the hell is "they"? Is this supposed to be some kind of commentary on the white man keeping the black man down? I used to love Katt, but HE did this to HIMSELF! People need to quit with all this crap about who did what to him, why he isn't funny worth a sh*t anymore, etc. Katt is a DRUG ADDICT plain and simple. I also believe he is suffering from some kind of mental illness, which may be why he's gone to drugs. A lot of people do not want to have to see a doctor, statistically black men are the least likely to seek psychiatric help. I truly believe he needs rehab, a good psychiatric doctor, some counseling so he can start working through his issues and a circle of friends that don't encourage his bad behavior. I can say I used to be a fan of his, and maybe will be again one day if he makes a sober and healthy return. For now, he needs to stay out of the media. I also agree with 727pm, I hope his public persona isn't the private one as well. If so, we all need to pray for the children in his custody.
