My husband and I were talking about this the other day. About how we think his family may have been less affected by slavery than mine. Black American's issues are much bigger than weaves and contacts. Those are just the outward affects of a much bigger disease. Black women were not allowed to wear their hair in its natural state and had to have it covered at all times because it offended whites - male and female. Why? I just read an article that said most of the gains from programs like head start have diminished by the 3rd grade. This is because poor people have an entirely different set of social/emotional triggers that affect their ability to function normally. Poverty in a country like America where some parents can spend $25,000 on private preschool while a single mom only makes that much in an entire year. The difference in the lives of people with money and without in America is stark and what the poor must do to get the basic necessities is something most people with money wouldn't even let their dogs do.

They put truth in a lot of movies and TV shows so that we brush it off as fake. To echo a lot of the comments on here, truth is stranger than fiction. I don't know if Beyonce is the president's sex slave, but I do know that they have them. Clinton had Monica Lewinski, had it not been for the fact that the Republicans wanted to destroy the democrats at that time and install a republican candidate to push all of their draconian legislation that Obama has now enforced, Monica would be dead.
