Last night Cissy Houston's interview aired on Oprah's Next Chapter and Cissy opened up about her relationship with her granddaughter Bobbi Kristina...
In the interview Cissy admits her relationship with Bobbi Kristina is strained, but only because Bobbi is 19 and knows her grandmother won't allow her do whatever she wants and because Bobbi didn't want Cissy to write her book.
Cissy also admits she was no fan of the Houston's reality show and agrees it exploits Whitney's death.
When Oprah asked if Bobby Brown was a good parent to Bobbi Kristina, Cissy refused to answer.
Oprah told Cissy she'd heard Cissy didn't like the interview Oprah conducted with Bobbi Kristina and Pat Houston and Cissy admitted it was true and explained it was because it was two soon and that she didn't like how "she" [meaning Pat Houston] kept talking about how she protected Whitney, when ultimately she didn't.

I no longer like Oprah because I feel like everytime someone is going through a hard time or is grieving Oprah is like right there for an 'interview'. Reminds me of lawyers that follow ambulances to the hospital in hopes of getting clients. I was cool when Oprah had her talk show and the topics helped and informed people. But now, its like 'Hard Copy' all over again.
Keep grasping those straws....

she did the book and interview to tell the truth, what's wrong with that? you rather discuss rumors than hear the truth from whitney's own mama. crazy. katherine jackson did the same thing.
but i'm glad cissy discuss the 89 soul train awards and how blacks did her when she came out. black folks want to act like oh i love me some whitney, knowing full well blacks only fell in love with whitney when she hooked up with bobby brown, and started acting ghetto. which she never was. but as long as she wasn't sophisticated or classy acting than it was all good. blacks folks be real, just like with mj, you didn't do anything for whitney but tore her down, and then when she was in the gutter, she was accepted. if i was whitney i would have just distanced myself from black folks. jmo. that anti-whitney movement destroyed her as well.
Parenting doesn't come with Instructions most parents do the best they can. Surely the values we impart to our children are in fact a reflection, of what they emulate as they get older.
Ms.Houston, was questioning your parenting skills rightly justified??? As parents, it is out our responsibility to teach our children about Self-love and to nurture a confidence, which as they grow older can become a natural way of living and loving.

Nobody can help an Addict if they continue to deny their addiction. They can only beat the Addiction once they see what they've become. LET THE WOMAN REST IN PEACE!
I don't think whitney denied her addiction, i think that addiction was her escape. like cissy said, she didn't have coping skills. She would drug herself to deal with issues she didn't know how to get out of. you see cissy and whitney both said that she didn't grow up around the environment she was in. her parents didn't have a abusive relationship, she was guarded and protected. you try putting a girl that was from a strict religious middle class family, into her marriage life, and see if she would survive. whitney ultimate problem was at the end of the day, when her father died, she lost the male protector to come in and save her. so she used drugs as an escape to hide. poor whitney.

Whitney created that whole "black image", her own mama put that to rest on the today show. whitney was sophisticated , and even out of mary j blige mouth taught her how to be a lady. people want to disrespect pat houston, but they were close as sisters, you can't hang with someone unless you have something in common, and pat isn't ghetto. her bestfriend was cherelle the singer from the 80's, pebbles cousin, and she grew up a valley girl. but yet people want to say she was ghetto. i seriously doubt dionne or cissy would have put up with that. even bobby brown babymama said that on the phone whitney had this elite speaking voice. let's be real we had whitney all wrong.She only acted crazy on bbb because of the drugs,to give bobby shine, because she wasn't happy.

Cissy is grieving and hurting. One thing for sure, she did not approve of BB. This book and these interviews are too much to soon for her. She needs time to heal and one year is not enough time.
Cissy keeps it real. I started liking The Houstons after I got over the exploitation factor. Didn't know the show was canceled. I could never remember when it came on so I'd watch it online. I'll probably have to record this because of the Superbowl. Oprah should go ahead and post these shows on her website after they've aired.

Read cissy's book! She did not keep it real. She lied. Cissy knew about Whitney's drug use back in high school but said she didn't want to see it. She also lied about Whitney going to rehab. Whitney was in rehab right before her first album dropped. Cissy and John were both alcoholics and that's why their children ended up as addicts. It's genetics.
