Diva Diana Ross threw a supreme hissy fit at restaurant La Scala in Beverly Hills after she was not allowed to sit at a table until her daughter showed up. The tony Italian eatery has a policy of not seating incomplete parties unless someone has a reservation. According to witnesses, Ross arrived there for lunch Thursday afternoon ahead of her daughter. She then asked to be seated, but was denied. But Ross marched forth to a corner booth anyway. We’re told management then came over to explain their seating policy, and said that if she cut the line and sat before her daughter arrived, she would not be served. But Ross didn’t budge. Sources said that when her daughter arrived, a scene ensued and both women stormed out of the restaurant. La Scala owner Gigi Leon told us: “I’m sorry that Miss Ross had a problem with that and she feels that the rules didn’t apply to her. Our policy is that we don’t sit incomplete parties. If people jump the line, our policy is we don’t serve them, and she was told that. We treat everyone the same whether you’re famous or not. We love having her as a customer. We’d be happy to have her back.” A rep for Ross didn’t get back to us.

I co-sign with all; its about time that 'diva-tude' behavior is put in its place. Anon@843; most restaurants have that policy. It prevents complete parties that are already there from having to wait for a table to become available. Now if other celebrities can get checked....

it also depends on the capacity. if it was crowded then its understandable but if it was dead then they coulda just let her sit down. but she might have had a stank attitude to begin with. its hard to pick a side here.
Didn't Diana sprain an ankle or break a toe or something recently? Perhaps she cannot stand for a long time. Wasn't there a photo of her riding on a mobile chair in an airport? Didn't she wear that poofy Cinderella dress to the White House because she was sporting a cast underneath? Things are not always what they seem...

It's great that they apply the rules to everyone but I doubt that would've happened to someone who is relevant today i.e. Jay-Z, Beyonce, Chris Brown etc.

exactly @ 9:14. I would've sat at the bar and had me a drank. If there were other people waiting for a table, I would not have tried to jump in front of them as if my time/presence/money was more valuable to the restaurant than theirs. The eatery was right to stick to their policy.
And if they had bent the rules, the two Ross's probably wouldn't have tipped well anyway. If at all. They probably would've felt that their 'presence' or that giving the waiter/waitress 'the pleasure of serving them' would be plenty tip enough. Hah! Bish please. Get em outta here!

i am thinking this also, if one of those white kids from twilight or betty white had showed up before there party would they have been seated without a party arriving ? stupid policy... and i dont blame rhonda, i wouldnt have stayed either they were mean to your momma...
