Alicia Keys is under fire for remaining seated while singing the Star Spangled Banner for Super Bowl XXVII.
According to rumor the NFL removed all footage of Alicia singing the National Anthem while sitting at her piano after a barrage of complaints from upset viewers.
A spokesperson for Alicia Keys explains,
"Alicia is a proud American and was honored to perform at the event."
"Her slow version of 'The Star-Spangled Banner' was her own arrangement, accompanying herself on the piano, adding 'living in the home of the brave' at the end of the song. Not a big Keys fan, but I can't say that I would have wanted to see her booty up bending over a piano singing. She was playing the piano for Gods sake! Now if one TRULY wants to be offended by Alicia Keys she has given us plenty of valid material to work with already, why reach?

I agree with you and have been noticing the same. Everything blacks do of late is scritinized and dissected. They were demanding that the president step down because of Beyonce lip syncing. I think this all has to do with a black man in the White House. It's messing with thier minds psychologically so they look for the smallest things to complain about to make themselves feel better.
All I can say is sitting down or standing up, she sounded aweful.
This is just so silly it's pathetic. She was playing the piano so she gets a pass. No one watching it on tv sang along, crossed their hand over their chest, or stood up. We were dancing while they were singing the National Anthem at the SB party I attended. Who cares?

To see that many black people entertain at the Superbowl was a bit much for a lot of racist hicks to handle. It will probably be another decade before an African-American sings an anthem or do the Super Bowl festivities again. I've never read so many racist comments towards not only Bey, Alicia and JHud but also previous entertainers such as Prince and Whitney. As well as other names brought up for future SB events.
