Andre Leon Talley and Vogue Parting Ways

Vogue contributing editor Andre Leon Talley is leaving the magazine after 30 years and the break-up doesn't sound amicable...

From Page Six
Vogue and its flamboyant contributor Andre Leon Talley are set to part ways after three decades, fashion sources tell Page Six.
The split, we hear, has come partly as a result of Talley’s TV aspirations. Talley recently announced he’s developing a late-night show with former NBC exec Ben Silverman, which the fashonisto described as blending Dick Cavett with “unparalleled access into my international fashion lifestyle.”
But we hear Vogue wasn’t so happy with Talley’s bid to become the next Jimmy Fallon, and is looking to put an end to things.
“The powers that be aren’t huge fans of his television aspirations, and they want to sever all ties now,” a source told us as Fashion Week ended.

Oh goodness, A.L.T. is simply brilliant. They're sure to miss him.

He certainly has to be on to bigger and better things...because there isn't really much after Vogue. No fashion magazine can compare or handle that personality!

I wish him well.

I really like this man. He's made more than enough money, so he should be okay. I'm positive he's knows how TPTB get down. He isn't stupid. At least I hope not.

Hey, calm down with that. Anna Wintour told any fashion designer that dressed Mitt Romney's wife that they would be FOREVER BANNED FROM HER MAGAZINES.

She's an Obama stan and loves Michelle to death. They all do, especially Karl Lagerfeld decrepit self.

Miss Wintour is fine in my book. It's time for Andre's old, eccentric ass to move on to better things anyways. No one stays at the same company for 30 years like that, unless they OWN IT these days.

Am I the only that peeps ALT giving that subliminal, yet LOONG middle finger in that pic? That abnormally long ass middle digit has to be 'shopped. And why am I not surprised that in the wake of Vogue's Beyonce ass kissing-fest, ALT is suddenly leaving Vogue? *Sighs* with these evil black puppets, who knows?

ELLE is way better than Vogue and I never saw the sensation with Andre Leon Talley. He was under Andy Warhol? so what. Andy was the creative genius, that is where the focus should be unless his mentee can produce better works.

Anyway. I am the one who made the comment about natural hair on the beyonce post and I notice some of you were putting Spanish and White women down to life black women up. I can see some you doing this here as well calling Anna Wintour a "white bitch" YOU ALL NEED TO STOP THAT. You can always tell WHO IS EITHER SUCCESSFUL OR GOING TO BE SUCCESSFUL and who is NOT.

Those people who are culturally/racially diverse always fair well. Stop being stuck in an all black bubble. THE WORLD IS FILLED WITH MANY RACES, PLACES AND FACES to say that you only support "black" is LUDICROUS. There are beautiful women in every culture period. If you are a beautiful women who knows it you would actually COMPLIMENT another women because you are appreciative and grateful of your own beauty.

Anyway, said too much I suppose but just wanted to put it out there because I feel it's necessary.

^ to lift black women up > typo.

None of these magazines are any where near the excellence that they used to be. They need to go back to the original formula of putting SUPERMODELS/MODELS on the cover ONLY. That was when Vogue was their best and all of the other magazines for that matter.

^ Oh and to add to this. I am actually VERY DISAPPOINTED in black women because I see all of that energy you all put in stating the obvious on beyonce when you all should use that energy in trying to get women like Kerry Washington and Sanaa Lathan on the cover of Vogue. As much time as it takes you to write these comments you all can't submit a letter to the Editor demanding women of color be put on the cover of the magazines? See this is where black people (black Americans fail).

I saw that cover with Sanaa, Nia and Gabrielle for Essence and thought this is VOGUE material. Would love to see Sanaa on the cover of VOGUE and I know she would kill the spread.

Andre Leon Talley is 7 feet tall. The man has long fingers...

Over a 30-year relationship with Vogue, Talley’s left and come back before. His rep told us, “Andre is absolutely maintaining his relationship as a contributor . . . [He] has a number of projects in the works with Vogue and Condé Nast, and maintains a warm relationship with both.” I read the rest of the article unlike some people. Also for the young lady above who likes to lump everyone in one race together DON'T many thanks :)

@3:31

Maybe people wouldn't lump one race together if black people started getting their acts together... wait that wishful thinking...

All of these fashion fucks are so full of themselves. They're just people and clothing is nothing but rags. Fuck the fashion industry. Design your own shit and put your name on it. As long as you like it, rock it. Go for it.
