I am a perfectionist. And one thing about me, I practice until my feet bleed. And I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra. It was a live tv show and a very, very important, emotional show for me. One of my proudest moments. Due to the weather, due to the delay and lack of proper soundcheck, I did not feel comfortable taking a risk. It was about the President and the Inauguration. And I wanted to make him and my country proud. So, I decided to sing along to a pre-recorded track, which is very common in the music industry. And I'm very proud of my performance.

I'm glad that Beyonce shut this "controversy" down. I mean, Bey can sing, not sang, and she's definitely no Whitney Houston. But this live version sounded just like the recorded version at the Inauguration. She did it well. Good for her.

If you notice in her interviews, it's not just the fact that Beyonce has poor diction-- she can't string a complete sentence together without having to think really hard about what she should say.
It's almost like you can hear the gears in her head creaking and squealing because the cogs need to be oiled, because they aren't used often enough.
Mike Tyson has an excuse for sounding the way he does. He is uneducated and punchy, but even he can have a decent conversation from time to time.
