In case you missed it, last night's episode of Law and Order SVU contained eerie similarities to Chris Brown and Rihanna's relationship, minus the part where the Chris Brown character kills the Jay Z character and the Rihanna character gets beaten to death at the end...

Svu snitch special victims unit. Suv is a vehicle.
The acting was really bad last night. The Chris Brown character had on the cover girl queen collection makeup. His face was beater than the Rihanna character. When she asked "who's that" the last time he got a text I nearly fall out my seat. Don't breathe, blink or talk when he gets a text. He should be able to hear a pin drop in the room unless you want an @ss whooping. LOL Over all I was entertained.
He beat her to death??? The show I watched she was found floating... Just saying...
What a horrible misrepresentation!
If anyone is a real svu fan like myself you will notice that svu has been ripping stories from headlines for YEARS. Why this particular ripped from headlines episode is being singled out is beyond me.
@9:14 right, do you remember when they did the Puffy and J LO night club shooting and Kerry Washington played J LO? In the end Kerry charcter was the one who shot old boy because he rub his hands between her legs when they were leaving the club. I been trying to catch that rerun for years!
9:18 yes. They also covered the soccer mom/madame scandal from ny and the greg kelly (police chiefs son) rape scandal as well as the criminal intent episode about the college students from Newark nj who came home from school and were murdered by gang members. Those are only a few examples. But people are acting like this is the first or last time cuz its rih n cb
How is this episode ripped from the headlines when it is partially true and the rest made up? This must be how history is made up.
I agree with 9:28, if they are going to do a ripped from the headlines then do that. Otherwise just make up a story. The only similarities this had with the Rhianna and CB case is they were both famous and he beat her ass. Otherwise, it's just a fabrication.
9:28 obviously its based on true events n the rest is made up probably so they can't be sued. Stop looking for a petty argument. If it wasn't based on true events then how would anyone make an assumption about it being based on cb n rihanna? Youre entitled to your opinion tho
For legal purposes they had to change the story a little. The same with Dreamgirls the play, everyone know that was the Supremes’ story but they changed a few things so they wouldn't get sued. Dianna walked out after the first act and tried to get her lawyers involved because they were using her likeness.
Likeness is defined as 1: copy, portrait
2: appearance, semblance
3: the quality or state of being like : resemblance
Last night SVU used Chris and Riri's likeness.
10:09 they understood. They were just being petty trying to start a debate over the obvious. If it wasn't based loosely on cb n rih how did viewers make the connection?
I don't think that'd old are mad because it was "loosely" based on the duo... I think it's because it was more of a parody than a story
ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW
Domestic Violence Is (Very Serious) ...Rihanna, Take Notes It Didn't End, Happily Ever After!!!
I thought the episode was good.....damn I can't see for the life of me why women are attracted to men like that dude....too crass for me.
Obviously the people commenting on here do not watch Law and Order period. All of their stories bear similarities to news stories. They even did a story similar to the Tawanna Brawley story years ago.
Who played Chris Brown? I hope he doesn't typecasted.
First and Foremost..of course it was based on Chris and RiRi...due to the fact that have been seen together in the past and just annonuce they are once again a couple. With that being said they should of shown him beating her ass once again, i believe this will happen again. Women that have been hit, beaten will be the first to you that this mistake she made hooking up with him again is on all levels of wrong!
I am not saying she got it coming to her. no one deserved to be hit. Returning to a past relationship and repeating history it seems likely to happen again rather if we hear about it or not
Just saying people
I thought it was pretty good. Don't feel sorry for CB or Rih. They made their beds....
Besides nobody told them to be "famous." The price of fame. Don't care about that "if it was lindsey lohan" bullshit either. I'm sure she's had, or will have her share of ultimate scrutiny.
Anyway, we should be thanking SVU, they gave us something to talk about, albeit about the same redundant topic. But it's better than nothing. These raggedy ass celebs aint nothing but wack ass internet beefs and twitter going on anyway.
"RIPPED FROM THE HEADLINES" and BADLY/SADLY misrepresented.
^^ up top talking about how SVU has always ripped from the headlines "so what's the big deal", okay, but when did they rip a story and then tell it in an extremely sh*tty way with bad actors?
Clearly this mess was Chris and Rhianna, they had the bow-tie, wendy williams, text messages, black musicians, etc, Clearly people will associate the story with Chris/Rhianna.
So "what's the big deal" is, that they took a familiar headline of 2 current artist and twisted the information in the most bias, sh*tty, nonfactual way and in the end the message was sloppy.
What reason was there for SVU to make Caleb "chris" overly horrible, that actor was playing overly arrogant and overly angry and overly abusive and seemed like he thought it was funny/cool.
In what "headline" did Chris act like hitting Rhianna was funny/cool, no big deal, get over it, it was her fault? Chris never publicly acted arrogant and fine about what he did, so why put that lie in the "ripped headline" why overexaggerate the "headline" in a way that made Chris look like he was a disturbed non-apologetic douche? If that's the story they wanted to tell they should have done it without so many Chris/Rhianna associations, why script something to make Chris look disturbed and not sorry and Rhianna look like a super victim, that's not their story so don't use them.
And that Rhianna character was so damn pathetic and needy, why "rip" a headline and alter the character of the victim to make it look like Rhianna is this weak, mind f*cked puppet, like she doesn't have any fight in her and is being held hostage in an abusive relationship. What headline is that?
This "headline" was just horrible, they overdid the violence, overdid the bad boy attitude and made the girl weaker and stupider than the girl they took the idea for the story from.
@3:28
You are so right on each and every comment. If the Captain had not made the reference to them NOT being CB and Rhi then they might even be able to sue for defamation. But the Captain cleaned it up real good!
If you aren't sure what I mean, watch the first scene with the Captain AND the Detectives.
Who gives a complete fuck!
This episode sucked monkey ballz for real, and I was pissed the fugg off that I stayed up to watch it. SVU *used* to be my favorite show...not so much since Christopher Meloni left. I give it maybe one more year, then I think it's gonna be a wrap.
@ 3:28 Excellent points all around. *applauds*
thank you 3:47. I don't have a t.v. so I don't know what was in that episode. The fact that they claim they take it from the headlines then proceed to make up a story and ending up killing the main character is not from the headlines. Just by referring to chris & rhinna should be litigated
I thought the show was very disrespectful and distasteful...n how is it a svu case anway there was no rape or children involved...
LOVED this episode reality is most abusers do it again and I feel it shows how things can go- look at Jennifer Hudson!!! Hello! These ppl love attention and no one has milked this more than Chris Brown.
@5:08 how has he milked this? And what the hell does j hud have to do with any of this
3:28p co-sign... and @3:47 i peeped dat comment about him saying they should double date with chris and rih...this could have been better...the acting was bad
3:28 i think people like you are making it a bigger deal than it is. So what? It was horrible and not 100% accurate. And if you were so disturbed why did you watch the entire episode. Yall commenters care more about it than chris n rihanna. How does this fictional account thats obviously loosely based on two people you dont even know bother u so deeply? Ike never raped Tina according to Tina herself but nobody went off the deep end when whats love got to do with it came out. Ijs go hard like this for something that affects u personally. Why get all bent out of shape about a tv show. If chris n rih dont care why do u? But i bet u cant tell me about the demographics of activity in your neighborhood tho. Its tv. Its fiction based on a few facts. Get over it. This is the way of law and order for 14 years and counting now. Get over it. You n your cosigners.
3:28 huh? CB is a cocky arrogant douche, he was jet skiing with his tongue out after the ass whipping you remember? Rihanna is a weak bitch because she was with him the same time. I don't see why you were so offended by the portrayals.
I missed THIS?! Damn...
7:29 bcuz she probably is in a relationship wit a man who goes upside her head. Why else would anyone be offended on behalf of someone else. Anyone who cant see this story was ripped from the headlines is either completely oblivious to reality or doesn't comprehend what ripped from the hesdlines means.
Does anyone listen t the disclaimer that is said before the show starts? It clearly states that some events that take place are inspirered by true events..This is the same for all of the episodes. Chris Brown and Rhianna are not so special that a prime time show feels the need to single them out. Their story is one of many that has been used for a Law & Order episode. So the attention that this episode has received is a bit ridiculous to me. There wouldn't be any need for this discussion if ppl would just pay attention...
@9:14 AM: It' not just SVU, the entire L&O franchise does it. It's their trademark.
Oh i see. Motherfuckers were expecting a chris n rihanna biography in a 45 minute tv show. Smh. Get a life
