The Grio's Chris Witherspoon asked Clive Davis about the persistent lesbian rumors surrounding Whitney Houston and her former best friend and personal assistant Robyn Crawford.
Clive tells Chris,
“As I saw Whitney, and you keep your personal life to a separate side, I really saw her in brief relationships with men. I do write about that. She did have an interim relationship with Jermaine Jackson when he was separated.”
“I know of other boyfriends. I know she went out with Eddie Murphy for a while until she married Bobby Brown. I only knew of Robyn as her assistant, someone she grew up with, since she was a teenager. I just knew the heterosexual side of Whitney.”

Most lesbians I have known have only had 1-3 partners in their life time. Lesbians tend to be like straight women in the fact that they like to be in monogamous relationships, and they usually settle down with one person for years at a time.
Even lesbians who come out after having been married to a man usually start and maintain a long term relationship with one woman.
It is totally believable that Whitney had a relationship with Robyn and no other woman. Many so-called straight women have done this. They have a long-term relationship with a woman, and then end up getting married to a man later on.
