It was obvious JoJo Hailey, from Jodeci and K-Ci and JoJo, had a pretty bad drinking problem after he passed out drunk on stage a few years ago [click here if you missed that], but now JoJo is trying to get cleaned up...
JoJo tells Sister 2 Sister,
"The only thing that's going on with me now - and I thank God I'm still here able to talk to you again - is my pancreas. I drank so much until a small part of my pancreas had ate away (sic). That's no pain you want to feel. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy."
"...In a few days I'm going to seek the help that I need for my health. Because I have to do it."
"We're going in the studio, actually. Then, right after that, I'm going in for my treatment, and that's going to be 30 days. So we're starting our album. We got back with our songwriters that we used to use back in the day with Jodeci."

It's unfortunate that so many of us wait until there's a life-or-death situation before we get help. I'm sure he's known he's needed to quit drinking long before his pancreas got "ate" away. No judgment. Just saying. I'm praying for you, JoJo!
Dayum JoJo! But umm if you are in pain and your pancreas has deteriorated then why go get treatment AFTER you go into the studio. C'mon dude where are your priorities?!
and who knew that there was a hierarchy in addiction... they only admit to being addicted to alcohol when it is clear that there were on that ish also!
Why not get treatment first - it seems folks put off health for work #shrugs

Damn, What kind of Gut Rot was JoJo drinking to eat away part of his pancreas.
This fool must have been drinking that Corn Liquor. To do that kind of damage to his organs.
I'm young and I can tell you from experience, pancreatic problems are the worse! I experienced this from drinking alcohol . Also it doesn't have to be hard alcohol
If passing out on stage a couple of times and doing couple's thereapy with your ex to face your issues isn't enough to get you on the straight and narrow then a problem with one of your organs should be the wake up call that you need. I hope he takes advantage of another chance; there's a reason why he's still here after all of that.

I know a woman who had to have her pancreas removed. She instantly became a type 1 diabetic, and now she has to have her insulin pen with her at all times.

Ok here is my Kc story, Bey have Blur read this. I am aging myself a little. I ran into Kc back in the day when they were hot at an all black Indiapolis Expo weekend, we stayed at the same hotel. I was in the bar trying to get drunk and forget my horrible day. In walks Kc with a big body guard. A lady says I want his autograph to give to my daughter(we was the same age and not star struck or groupies)so I said go ask him. The big body guard jumped in front of her and said he dont give autographs. So I said(liquor was kicking in)loudly if tha nigga cant sign a piece of paper, then stop buying his shit. Tell your daughter to tell each friend dont buy shit. He went down hill from then, but I know he heard and say me because he lowered his sunglasses(at night time) to look at me. I say those glazed ugly azz eyes, thats why he aint in rehab for drinking!!!

Groupie, I like my men with meat on and not skinny. He wasnt my type, crack heads was popping up on all walks a life. I think him and Mary J was fucking then!!!
I am a registered nurse, NO IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT YOU ARE DRINKING! This man is speaking in laymen's terms but here's the deal: Your pancreas isn't "eaten away" the amounts of liquor and the length of time he's been drinking has damaged the pancreas it has become coarse, and lobular, his electrolytes are out of balance, and his pancreatic enzymes are elevated. This is very, very painful as someone stated earlier but once the pancreatic enzymes are back in normal range and they treat the pain, and replenish electrolytes he will feel better. Believe me, if he was having an attack of pancreatitis he would not be giving interviews! The worse part is pancreatitis is an acute disease but once it's damaged it becomes chronic. BTW: Surgery to remove a pancreas is RARE! More likely it's not functioning.
