Funk Band Sues Over Cleared Sample for T.I. and Kanye West

A 70s funk and R&B band is suing Universal Music Group for licensing their music to T.I. and Kanye West because they don't approve of hip hop...

According to CourtHouseNews the rock band Bloodstone are suing UMG claiming they allowed Kanye West  to sample their 1979 original composition of 'I'm Just Doing My Job' for T.I.'s 2003 single "Doin My Job" without their permission.
"Bloodstone did not know that UMG had granted the license to TI and Kanye West until late 2011/early 2012. Since that time Bloodstone has sought to find out who granted the license to TI without any authority, and recently learned it was Ume [Universal Music Enterprises]. Plaintiffs do not approve of their song being sampled in a hip hop or rap song."
The Bloodstone are seeking an injunction, damages and punitive damages.
