Kanye West Comes Out on Top

In the epic battle between Kanye West and J. Cole for the no.1 spot on the Billboard charts this week Kanye West comes out on top...

J.Cole took a huge gamble and dropped his new album Born Sinner on the same day as Kanye West's highly anticipated new album and it paid off big time.

While Yeezus took the no.1 spot with 328k units sold J. Cole was not far behind with a respectable 297k sold.

Unfortunately airing her dirty laundry wasn't enough to save Kelly Rowland, her new cd 'Talk a Good Game' came in forth with 65k in sales.

Not surprised the little soul selling ass demon made it to the top.

I've said it before and i'll say it again. Ain't nobody checking for Kelly Rowland. No matter how much dirty laundry she claim she has. She's not talking no shit about her "SISTAH", the ass that she kisses all the damn time, so nobody gives a damn!

Only by 30k...........overall kanye has been on the decline 3.3 mil( first cd), 3.1, 2.7, 1.7, 1.3, and watch the thone at 1.4 million. 300k for yeezus so far......his slaveship is sinking.

Kelly's CD is actually VERY GOOD!! I just bought it yesterday. And if you skip that wack azz "Kisses Down Low" song, it's one of those CDs you can play from start to finish. It's really that good. I'm impressed. I have no idea why she put kisses down low as her lead single. That was her worst mistake.

Kanye only sold 300K, where are all those fans calling him a genius and shit? Why didn't they cop this album. I guess they weren't willing to put their money where their mouth is...typical. Good for J. Cole and at least Kelly is on target to sell more than her last album.

Of course the devil worshipper came out on top! No surprises there at all. *eye roll*

Congrats to J Cole. "Let Nas Down" is one of my faves off the album! I also love Nas' remix "Made Nas Proud" although it's not on the album.

Born Sinner ain't a bad album at all. I'll support any true mc like Cole that can perhaps spark the return of the lyrical mc to the mainstream, and begin to cut off some of hip-hop's rotting flesh that exists in the form of these retarded rap niggas that can barely form a proper sentence, let alone spit a bar and display any talent.

Yeezus is nothing more than Conye the cornball yelling over a collection of miscellaneous noises. No diss to his fans at all, but any intelligence and depth he displays is completely drowned out by his narcissism, on my ears anyway. I remember when he used to be a rapper tho..

WEll he did not make it there off my dime. By chance did he and the Kardashian family purchase these units.

SMH has J.Cole been knighted? What a demonic cover. No need to purchase any track from either album. Save your money or fulfill yourself with a treat you deserve.

Well, this means Kelly will be riding Bey's clit for another 2 years.

^ Exactly, these niggas serve the same master in Jay-Z. J Cole is cornball to me. Yeezus the album is actually sonically amazing. But yes his sales have been declining for years so maybe he can move to paris after this like he wanted.

I had to listen to Yeezus a few times before it grew on me but that's how it is with all of his albums. Usually, the dude has something to say but this album is him bragging all throughout how great he is. I can understand having some confidence this long into the game but damn yo....a little humbleness at this point goes a long way

Kweenye needs to go sit his ass down somewhere.

Yeezus is very very demonic it only takes one listen to know that.

Magna Carta Holy Grail will sell more than that in it's 1st week

Demonic album title gets the number one spot, while the demonic album cover is #2.

I like this comment. I just bought myself three pairs of shoes at Nordstrom this week. I'd call that a treat!

On topic - I'm not remotely interested in what these demonic puppets are pushing these days. Anything I happen to hear will come from Pandora or YouTube, not because I spent my hard earned dollars on any of this crap. Idk the last album I purchased - I'm so stingy when it comes to supporting these clowns. I've resorted to listening to my old Maxwell, Erykah Badu, Jodeci and Donell Jones CDs. I'm hard up for good music these days. As for Kelly Rowland, I'll go check her out on YouTube. I did enjoy Brandy's last album 211.

Kanye lost me a long time ago. I cannot take this clown seriously anymore. My stomach turns when I see him parading that chick around on his arm like she is a prize. He is the laughing stock of the industry.

Is that a demon on the cover? Kanye has lost his mind.

Congrata to Kayne Kardashian! Kriss, Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, and little baby Knorth should be proud.

@BeeGee... PREACH...j.cole, Kendrick, Krit maybe just what we need to bring back the lyrics in rhyming. Kanye is definitely becoming the #1 cornball trying to be too esentric with the music. The production on Yeezus is good but it sounds more like a theatrical movie score rather than a speaker knocking banger.# why we gotta be slaves"

Now you know arrogant ass Kanye is throwing a "hissy-fit" that J.cole came so close to his sales..I truly believe he & Jezebel planned the birth of their new accessory, I meant baby...The baby came a week before his new release & Jezebel was not gonna let the last month of baby weight ruin her money-maker. Nor did either one of these narcissist want to be overshadowed by the next Queen of England that due next month.

note this is his lowest debut, and I bet most were bought by the label...real heads are NOT checking for that crappy so called music.

@11:42 AM - I'm with you. I, too, am hard up for good music to listen to, and refuse to support the same handful of label puppets being relentlessly pushed onto the public. I listen to my "oldie but goodie" music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s.

Yeezus vs the Born Sinner and Yeezus almost lost. Where's Tracy? lololol

@11:42, I agree. I was listening to Aaliyah - Age Ain't Nothing But A Number, album today. I forgot about songs like "Old School" and "The Thing I Like" and "Throw Your Hands Up" and "No One Knows How To Love Me, Quite Like You Do". The amount of times I replayed some of the songs on there, you'd have thought it was a brand new CD. I miss Aaliyah. And I miss the 90's. Back then we there were so many talented artists to listen to. Plus, the music back then was more balanced.

I like J Cole, he's not like those other ignorant coons making rap music. He, unlike them has something constructive to say on wax, other than "pop molly" "bitches and hos" "get money" "my cars and my jewelry".

I can't stand Kanye. The last kanye album I bought was back in 2005 (his 2nd album). Before he became a narcissistic, egotist. And that album was thrown in the bin, in 2009 when the rumors broke of him "switching sides". How does one go from being a conscious rapper that speaks out against injustices, to a white woman breeding, whiny lil bitch?!!!

Anonymous said...

@2:02 I think Kanye's always been a narcissistic egotist. It just took money and fame to really bring it all out to the forefront.

Mainstream rap is purely demonic. This shit don't make any sense. WE GET IT! Y'all niggas want out attention! YOU GOT IT! ARE YOU HAPPY? Enough with the shock value. Demons and Satanism is a bad, dark, and negative thing.

Rap is to Black men was Satanic, Metal Rock is to white men! All this shit is demonic as hell!

300k In his FIRST week for KANYE?! That's a flop for Kanye.

Is coming out on top when you're not even up against heavy hitters really coming out on top? And what does it even matter? Who started this stupid ranking thing?
Have any top artists ever released albums on the same day. Like say Rhianna, Beyonce, Gaga, Katy Perry-same damn day
Chris Brown, Usher, Justin Beiber-same damn day
Kanye, T.I, Wayne, Jay-z-same damn day

Do artists even do that, why would they even do that, wouldn't that be bad business for record labels to not allow fans time in between so maybe they can buy every album?

movies, music, plays, etc. if you're new and have a fanbase and fans have been anticipating the release why wouldn't your project be "on top" if it's released up against projects less anticipated than yours.
There's certain movies you pretty much know are going to be crowed on opening night because there's lots of talk about them, so duh that they come out on top, they were publicly anticipated and talked about.

Undeserved accolades. On top of nothing but the obvious.

Both albums are awesome and by no means can they be compared. I can't even categorize Kanye's album, b/c it doesnt resemble hip-hop...its just a wonderful piece of work. I prefer listening to albums through my simple apple headphones and I always get a better feel for an album through headphones vs. playing an album in the house or car...but I'm sure both albums were immaculate in the studio. I've never liked J.Cole, but his lyrical content is so needed...He discusses how buying chains, houses, and cars before you build true wealth is such slave mentality and I appreciate the message he conveys. Also, J.Cole seems to have a low tolerance for loose women in the sense that I feel Nas would do the total opposite. For example, if J Cole met a sleezy girl then he's gonna treat her that way and I feel Nas would completely be like "I pass" and I can appreciate both. Like I said, I love both albums seeing that I was sort of anti-J.Cole....I just didnt get him up until now...Plus Power Trip is an absolute fav of mine only b/c Miguel is on it.
