This looks like its going to be good!!! I got a little ready eyed being as though I was a waiter at the most exclusive private dining clubs while in college. One place I worked, women weren't even allowed to dine in one of the dining rooms. Another place, they boasted about the date that they let their first African American join, which oddly enough was before they let their first Democrat join.

To me this celebrates the "little people" that helped change the way "others" saw us

*that was supposed to be teary eyed

i cant take another movie about racism. it just makes me mad and to be truthful i think white ppl get off on seeing a white character callin another "nigger" or "boy" in a movie. i'm all for reliving black history but these type of movies gotta stop or we aint gone ever move forward. its 2013. shit.

News Flash 1146am. Racism will never stop. It is what it is. Let's keep throwing it in there face. And then put our President Obama picture at the end of every film with the biggest smile he can muster up...get the point. The joke is on them.

This is deep! Can't wait until this hit the theaters. I love Forest Whitaker. He's a superb actor. He was outstanding in the movie "The king of Scotland." This director has assembled an excellent veteran cast of white and black actors and actresses. This movie will do well at the box office. It reminds of the mini series Roots with the mixture of casts reenacting a significant part of black history.

While I'm interested in seeing a depiction of Mr. Eugene Allen's life, I don't want Black Hollywood to feel like it has to go back to driving Miss Daisy's white ass around for any roads to possible Oscar acclaim to open up. Not tryna be a buzzkill, but just leery of it..

I'm looking forward to seeing this because I remember my husband being angry that his mother was a maid and had to clean houses when his father died. But she worked so hard so that she could put all four of her kids through school and they in turn were able to make life easier for her. More parents today should remember that back then parents worked so hard to uplift their children and any work they could get to give us a better life.

@3:55 Preach it sister! Parents did it back in the day by all means neccesary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@3:55PM & 4:18PM... yes, they did what they had to do to survive!

Who is Mr. Eugene Allen Bee Gee??? I am out of dee loop!

@3:55 and 4:18. Parents do it today. Take a look around. Stop being so closed minded. Open your eyes and see the good things going on around you. Just because things look different doesn't mean that they are bad.

It looks like Forrest Whitakker is looking at them "big breastisis" of Oprah's. I guess Stedman does not have to look at them-he can touch them. LOL

Looks great!

@7:30pm the only one touching Oprah's breastisis is Gayle.

I hope this ends up being a good movie. Forrest Whitakker is an A-rate Oscar level actor. I don't want him to tank his career trying to help out Oprah's flailing ass. Beloved was complete shit. The book sucked, too. The last good acting she did was in the Women of Brewster Place.
@12:42 I'm glad Kerry Washington isn't in this. She isn't that great of an actress. She doesn't really like "us" That's the real "scandal" I'm tired of seeing her stankin azz everywhere.
