Fantasia Returning to Broadway

Fantasia Barrino made her Broadway debut in Oprah Winfrey's production of the Color Purple in 2007 [click here if you missed that].

Six years later Fanny returns to the Great White Way...

 From Yahoo
Grammy Award-winner Fantasia Barrino will star in the Broadway-bound "After Midnight," a musical revue celebrating Duke Ellington's years at the famous Cotton Club nightclub in Harlem.
Producers said Thursday that Barrino, last seen on Broadway in "The Color Purple," will be their first guest star in the show. Performances start Oct. 18, with an official opening night set for Nov. 3. Barrino ends her run Feb. 9.

Congrats to Fanny for forging ahead with Broadway and her music!! Forget the negativity; everyone makes mistakes and has played Boo-Boo the Fool when it came to people of the opposite sex. Just do much better next time around.

@Tippie Toes, I came here to say the exact same thing.
I don't think Fannie Mae is cut out for Broadway at all.

All right, 'tasia!

You've got talent and nobody gave you that.

Now, you're getting a RARE chance for a career DO-OVER. Make it work! :)

I'm not here for all that screaming and hollerin'. Getting the part as seely in The Color Purple was a backhanded compliment. They pretty much told that chile, "You can sing, but you shole is ugly!"

speaking of the color purple i have a quick question. why was celie always surrounded by kids at her home?? she only had one stepson. was her house a shelter for abandoned kids or something?? and why couldnt her own kids speak english when they met her for the first time?? wasnt nettie an english teacher??

^I believe Mister had several children. Harpo was just the only significant one lol or they coulda been cousins.....

As for her kids, maybe they could speak English, they just chose to speak their language because thats what they were used to doing or they wanted to impress their mom *Kanye shrug*

i never understood why mister saved the letters nettie wrote celie. he had no reason for doing that. why not just throw them in the garbage??

She got bills to pay she betta sang! Hopefully she can support her and her kids ONLY and not her entire greedy azz family.

Hatred and envy make you do dumb shit. Mister hated Celie, but loved/longed for her sister. So saving the letters servd a dual purpose. he longed to know how the sister was doing, while he enjoyed making Celie suffer.
